Abstract

Experimental investigations to study significant effects of employing a post weld heat treatment (PWHT) technique on mechanical properties of the welded carbon steel have been performed. This paper presents a study on hardness and tensile strength characteristics of a carbon steel A106 grade B welded using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) method with employing normalizing procedures. With the PWHT technique, heating temperature of the steel, that was set up to 850°C, was then maintained for these following set of holding times: 10, 20 and 30 minutes before cooling. Heating and cooling rates of the carbon steel were also slowly maintained. Investigation results under tension showed that the tensile strength of the carbon steel decreased with increase of the holding time. The best tensile strength was achieved by the carbon steel treated with a holding time for 20 min. Toughness of the carbon steel under tension is also discussed in order to correlate the influence of employing the PWHT technique on their fracture modes. Investigation with Vickers hardness test showed that the Vickers hardness on weld metal, weld line, heat-affected zone (HAZ) and base metal of the welded carbon steel, respectively, decreased and tended to be equivalent with the increase of the holding time.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated problems that occur in the classroom students V of SD Negeri 6 Sepotong that poor performance in the first semester mathematics learning. This is evident from the number of students who reached KKM many as 6 people (33,3%) while 12 (66,7%) did not reach KKM with an average of 59,722 study results. Based in this background, the researchers have conducted studies class actions (PTK) by implementing cooperative learning model number heads together (NHT). The classroom action research is carried by two cycles. At the first meeting of cycle I of the activities of teachers percentage is 54,16% sufficient criteria at the second meeting of teacher activity increased 66,67% both criteria. In cycle II of the third meeting of teachers increased activity both criteria 70,83% while the fourth meeting the cycle II of teachers increased activity percentage to 87,50% criterion very well. At the first meeting of cycle I of the activities of studenst percentage is 50,00% sufficient criteria at the second meeting of students activity increased 62,50% both criteria. In cycle II of the third meeting of students increased activity both criteria 66,67% while the fourth meeting of cycle II of students increased activity 79,16% criterion very well. For the result of student mathematics learning prior to action average value 59,722 and then increased 64,722 at cycle I with the percentage increase 8,37% and the cycle II of the average value of learning outcomes increased by 73,61% with percentage increase of 23,26% study resultKeyword : Cooperative model number heads together (NHT), learning result of mathematics

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of teacher competence and the accuracy of teaching methods on student learning outcomes at SMK Untung Surapati Pasuruan. Teacher competence, including pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies, is considered crucial in creating an effective learning process. The accuracy of teaching methods is also examined to determine the extent to which selecting methods suitable to students' characteristics and lesson materials affects their understanding and engagement. This research employs a quantitative approach with a 2x2 factorial design, involving 67 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and tested for validity and reliability to ensure accuracy and consistency. The findings reveal that both teacher competence and teaching methods significantly influence student learning outcomes. The combination of these factors positively impacts the enhancement of students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to continually improve their competence through training and further education and to choose teaching methods that align with students' needs to achieve optimal learning.

Abstract

The Job Creation Act aims to create job opportunities, facilitate investment, and enhance Indonesia's economic competitiveness, with one of its main focuses being the regulation of labor and social security for workers. However, the implementation of this law faces several challenges, particularly in protecting workers' rights, such as employers neglecting their obligations to provide social security. In Pangkalpinang, economic factors and a lack of understanding of employers' legal obligations regarding workers' social security are the primary causes of this issue. This study employs a normative legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach to analyze the urgency of enacting the Job Creation Act and its implications for worker protection in the region. The findings reveal that although the Job Creation Act provides a clear legal foundation, its practical application is hindered by employers' ignorance, who perceive enrolling workers in social security programs as an additional burden. Moreover, ineffective supervision exacerbates the problem. Therefore, to optimize the protection of workers' rights, more intensive education for employers, stricter supervision, and firmer law enforcement are required to ensure workers' social security rights are well-guaranteed in accordance with the applicable regulations.
