Abstract

The digital competency gap between vocational school graduates and the rapidly evolving demands of modern industry has become a pressing issue in today’s workforce. One of the main challenges lies in the limited digital literacy and insufficient practical skills of students, particularly in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support productivity and creativity. This situation hinders the readiness of graduates to compete in an AI-driven labor market, where innovation and technological adaptability are essential. To address this challenge, a training program was designed for vocational high school students at Darma Siswa Sidoarjo with the primary objective of enhancing both their conceptual understanding and practical competencies in the utilization of AI technologies. The program adopted the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, emphasizing collaboration and active engagement between trainers and students. It was conducted through a series of interactive workshops that combined theoretical introductions with hands-on practice. Students were guided to explore AI-based platforms such as Ideogram for visual creativity, PixVerse for multimedia production, and Suno for AI-generated music. To evaluate the effectiveness of the program, pre-test and post-test instruments were used, focusing on the dimensions of knowledge, technical skills, and student confidence in using AI tools. The findings revealed that students initially demonstrated minimal awareness and limited practical ability in AI applications, as reflected in the pre-test results. However, post-test data showed a significant improvement not only in their technical proficiency but also in their enthusiasm to further explore AI technologies. Moreover, students gained increased confidence in producing creative outputs, transforming their role from passive consumers of digital tools into active and competent content creators. In conclusion, this participatory and practice-oriented training model effectively bridges the digital competency gap, enhances students’ job readiness, and fosters an innovative mindset.

Abstract

PT Aldila, a medium-scale construction company, faces challenges in managing cash receipts and expenditures that are still done manually using Microsoft Excel. This process not only slows down work efficiency, but also increases the risk of recording errors that have an impact on the accuracy of financial statements. This condition hinders managerial decision-making that requires fast and accurate financial data. This research aims to design a Microsoft Access-based accounting information system as a solution to improve accuracy and efficiency in managing financial statements. The research method uses qualitative descriptive with a case study approach of system development, collecting primary data through interviews and observations as well as secondary data from company documentation. The research subjects include directors, HRD management, operational management, and accounting staff at two locations of PT ALDILA, with a research duration of three months. Data analysis was carried out to design a Microsoft Access-based accounting information system that supports transparency and accountability of the company's financial reporting. The results of the study show that the implementation of Microsoft Access can minimize errors in recording cash transactions and speed up the reporting process. The designed system is also designed to meet the Financial Accounting Standards (SAK). With the existence of a Microsoft Access-based accounting information system, PT Aldila is expected to be able to increase the company's transparency and accountability, as well as provide convenience in managing cash data. In addition, the results of this research contribute to the development of science in the field of Accounting Information System (SIA) design and provide practical benefits for PT Aldila to support more informative and responsive managerial decision-making to future challenges.

Abstract

Not all SMK Barunawati alumni continue to higher education, the school management are fully aware that their students don't have appropriate skills to get into society. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide additional skills to Barunawati Vocational High School students in promotional media design. Training activities are implemented using lecture methods, tutorials and mentoring. The results are measured by 4 indicators, 1) the ability to use Canva as design applications, 2) The ability to make product visualization sketches, 3) The ability to present product information, 4) The ability to create creative promotional content. Each indicator has an increasing average value. The highest score indicator is the ability to design creative promotional media with score 3.7, while the lowest indicator is the ability to make product visualization sketches. In general, the response of participants to this training was very good, hopefully there will be follow-up with further level training. Promotional media design training equips participants to get involved in society.
