Abstract

The ability of understanding mathematical concept and problem-solving mathematics is one of aims of mathematic subject it is expected to develop in mathematics learning. Based on the observation that was doing by students of VII grade SMPN 38 Padang in 2019/2020 academic years, this research obtain that the students got difficulty in doing story problem that related in real life situation without illustration’s picture. It causes, mathematics learning still focused on text book and LKPD. LKPD that SMPN 38 Padang has still less variation and there is no step to find out and construct by their own learning concept. One of learning models that can be developed is discovery learning. Discovery learning is a learning model that can be informed by discovering process. The aims of this research are to obtain and develop LKPD by using discovery learning that is practicable. Thetype of the research use development research with formative evaluation type that according to Tesmer view. Practicality of LKPD is limited on field test step which giving practical questionnaire to students and teachers. The result of practicality of LKPD from teacher is 85% with very practical category and from the student is 85.30% with very practical category.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah salah satu bentuk Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi. PKM ini diusulkan untuk melakukan kegiatan yang bersifat sosialisasi dan edukasi di SDN 11 Kampung Jua Padang. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dibuat dengan tujuan untuk menunjukkan luas daerah dari suatu bangun datar secara nyata khususnya persegi, persegi panjang, dan segitiga. Selain itu juga bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan permainan tradisional kepada siswa SD generasi modern. Seiring perkembangan zaman, siswa SD saat ini sudah terkontaminasi dengan gadget sehingga banyak dari anak-anak pada saat ini kurang mengetahui permainan tradisional. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut diperoleh hasil yaitu dengan menggunakan permainan tradisional ini dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa terhadap matematika, dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan. Pada artikel ini pembahasan lebih dikhususkan pada hubungan permainan tradisional engklek dengan materi luas bidang datar dan keliling bidang datar untuk kelas IV SD.Kata kunci: Build flat, wide, circular and engklek

Abstract

Matematika yang terkesan berisi simbol-simbol dan verbalisme merupakan tantangan tersendiri bagiguru matematika. Terutama di sekolah, siswa harus didekatkan dengan hal-hal yang bersifat konkretdalam penanaman konsep dasar. Karena siswa secara psikologi masih suka bermain, maka guruharus masuk pada dunia anak untuk pencapaian yang optimal. Tetapi kenyataanya, guru masihmenyampaikan materi secara monoton sehingga masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitandalam belajar matematika. Ketersediaan bahan ajar yang dapat memotivasi siswa belajarmatematika juga tidak ada. Untuk itu kami tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) UniversitasPutra Indonesia YPTK Padang melakukan pengabdian dalam bentuk sosialisasi penerapan lembarkerja mandiri terintegrasi pendekatan kontruktivisme dengan pemainan teka teki silang modifikasipembelajaran matematika siswa kelas VII SMPN 38 Padang. Kegiatan ini merupakan implementasidari hasil penelitian yang sebelumnya sudah dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat. Tujuanutama kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah dapat membantu meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahamanbelajar matematika siswa. Dalam kegiatan ini metode yang digunakan adalah penerapan lembarkerja mandiri terintegrasi pendekatan kontruktivisme dengan permainan teka teki silang modifikasipada pembelajaran matematika siswa. Adapun hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah siswa merasa senangdan lebih termotivasi untuk belajar matematika.Kata kunci : lembar kerja mandiri, kontruktivisme, teka teki silang

Abstract

Community Service (PKM) is a form of the Tridharma of Higher Education. This PKM is proposed to carry out socialization and educational activities. The basic material in learning mathematics at the elementary school level starts with addition, subtraction, to multiplication and division of numbers. But in the multiplication and division material, many students experience difficulties. Actually there are many learning methods that are used to make it easier for students to understand and memorize multiplication. One of them is the jarimatics method. In this method students are not required to memorize but students are taught to be able to understand multiplication by using their limbs, namely their fingers. With jarimatika students will learn multiplication easily and fun. The method used in this PKM is education and hands-on practice of the jarimatics method in multiplication problems. As a result, students become more aware of multiplication and feel happy with the method being taught, because it makes it easier for them to calculate multiplication.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of using traditional Engklek games for socialization to introduce plane figures at SDN 27 Lubuk Alung. The socialization activities were successfully conducted, achieving the following indicators: 1) Participant Engagement: The target number of participants was met with high levels of engagement. Observations during the activities revealed that students were very active in answering the questions incorporated in the Engklek game. They displayed enthusiasm by eagerly raising their hands upon completing the tasks. 2) Achievement of Objectives: After the series of socialization activities, a feedback session was conducted with the students. The results indicated that students felt happy and more motivated to learn through this method. These findings suggest that incorporating traditional games like Engklek into educational activities can enhance student engagement and motivation, thereby facilitating effective learning.

Abstract

Mastery of the concept of multiplication is a fundamental ability that needs to be mastered by primary school students as a foundation for learning further mathematical material. Unfortunately, many learners have difficulty in understanding multiplication thoroughly, both due to the abstract nature of the material and the lack of varied teaching methods. One of the main challenges is the decreased motivation to learn when facing multiplication topics that are considered complicated and boring. This programme introduces the lattice method as an alternative to learning multiplication at the primary level. This visual technique breaks down the multiplication process into structured steps that are easier to understand. The activity involved grade IV students and mathematics teachers at SDN 31 Jati Tanah Tinggi Padang as an effort to innovate numeracy learning. Implementation included socialisation, training, practice, and collaborative evaluation between teachers and students. Assessment instruments included learning interest questionnaire, comprehension test, observation sheet, and group discussion. As a result, the lattice method was proven to improve not only comprehension but also students' participation, confidence, and enthusiasm. Thus, this approach can be a solution to create more interesting and effective learning.
