Abstract

Backpack is one of the most attractive bag because of its excellence in the load management.Based on customer’s need identification, there were several primary dan secondary needs. Backpackdesign then was following the rules of product design with attention to ergonomic and financialaspects. Products were designed and developed, made a prototype and tested over a period of timeon the user. Results feedback during implementation include aspects of shapes, sizes, features anddesign.

Abstract

Backpack is one of the most attractive bag because of its excellence in the load management.Preliminary research conducted in the productive age segment (17-40 years) respondents showed thatthe majority (53 percent) were dissatisfied with the existing backpack. Then narrowed the marketshare in the segment of students and white collar worker who required high mobility. Customeridentification was conducted by several questionnaires. There were 6 primary needs and 21 targetspecification which connected on needs metric matrix.

Abstract

Production target of Department Hand Inserts PT Sharp Indonesia which was often not achieved, making the company intended to know the cause of the problem. Time study was needed to set production targets against operator’s ability. Time study established by the holding company of Japan using ready work factors (RWF) method. To determine conformity RWF method, a comparison with stopwatch time study was conducted. There were differences in the value of standard time with both methods. The differences due to value of rating operator performance and allowance. The value in RWF method was smaller than the findings in the field. After a change of both value the difference between the two methods became smaller. After that with standard time from RWF method was calculated operator's ability to produce. The results indicated that the ability of the operator under the production target, so improvement was needed.
