Abstract

This paper attempts to explore to what extent the current regime has changed the investment attractiveness and illegal charges in doing business in Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY). We focus on five factors that lead to regional investment attractiveness, in particular institutional, social-political, regional economy, labor and productivity, and physical infrastructure factor. This paper combined KPPOD method to analyze investment attractiveness at regional level and Analytical Hierarchy Proccess (AHP) to examine the business climate in DIY. We find that noneconomic factor, rather than economic factor, constituted a key factor based on business perspective. The institutional factor is found as the most important factor, followed by physical infrastructure, and social political factor. Interestingly, business community perceived illegal charges persistanly high in DIY, in particular public service, court, and police. Therefore, we argue some suggested corrective actions based the surveys are badly needed for local governments in DIY. Key words: AHP, pungli, daya tarik investasi, peringkat, KPPOD

In addition, it also provides understanding and information regarding strategies for managing emotions and resilience. This research is applied research based on action research by providing educational information. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, psychological resilience instrument scales, and the dynamics of Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results of the study stated that the condition of the people affected by the evictions tended to feel sad about the conditions that had occurred but already had plans for the future so they felt comfortable. The causal factors for this condition are seen from the financial aspect, place of residence, memories, education, and family welfare. This appliedresearch on the outreach program for emotional management and resilience can provide new insights to residents about the problems they are experiencing so that later residents do not feel alone in facing problems and can motivate one another. In addition, material related to strategies for managing emotions and resilience can also be implemented in daily life in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Life Expectancy (LE), Poverty Line, and Average Years of Schooling (AYS) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Central Java Province. HDI is a crucial indicator used to measure the quality of life through three main dimensions: health, education, and standard of living. The research utilizes 2024 secondary data from all regencies and cities in Central Java, analyzed using multiple linear regression (OLS) with STATA software and spatial regression using Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) with ArcGIS. The results show that all three independent variables significantly affect HDI. AYS has the most dominant influence, followed by LE and the Poverty Line. Spatial analysis reveals that the impact of each variable varies across regions. Cities such as Salatiga, Boyolali, and Klaten show the highest influence of AYS on HDI, while areas like Kebumen and Tegal show lower impacts. These findings highlight the importance of region-based development policies that consider spatial heterogeneity. This study recommends improving the quality of education and healthcare, along with poverty alleviation efforts, as key strategies to accelerate human development in Central Java Province.
