Abstract

Eco-hydraulic analyses begin with the arrangement of tributaries. This research aimed to minimize the discharge of flood run-off downstream and map the flood inundation by spatial analysis uses DEMNAS data and mapping of flood inundation areas using ArcGIS. Analysis of return period flood points using HEC-RAS version 5.0.7. The data needed is the cross section of the river, the distance between the sections, the Manning's roughness number, the return period flood discharge and the slope of the river. The integration between topographic maps, watersheds and flood water levels can display areas that are potentially affected by inundation floods, so that the flood inundation limits and flood inundation areas can be calculated. This research examined proper eco-hydraulics design so that it could reduce discharge, identify locations prone to flooding, and describe the magnitude of the flood impact quantitatively. The results eco-hydraulic method obtained the design border width of 100 m, the condition before the existing river border arrangement was carried out, the inundation height was 0.30 – 1.13 m and after the river border arrangement the discharge could be reduced to 113.09 – 209 m3/s and the inundation height is 0 – 0.31 m. Based on the research results, it is known that border arrangement can provide benefits for flood control measures.

Abstract

Planning and building of water supply in rural areas aimed at helping rural communities who do not have access to adequate clean water especially medium to lower income people. Not all communities in the District of Reparation Nara have clean water in their homes - each, the tough get clean water every day and spend the time to get their water through the trail and winding road to get to the water source. Based on these problems, this study aimed to complement the building plan of clean water that can be distributed to neighborhood residents with community participation in the management and in maintenance. The study was conducted by calculating the water needs of the people and community participation in the management of water supply through the distribution of questionnaires (questionnaire) contains several questions relating to the need for clean water. This method is done by descriptive surveys with making analytical processing of data in terms of percentage in the form of a bar chart to make a conclusion. The results showed that through the design of the building is the public water supply already has a concept to build a clean water future. The results of the questionnaire showed people are looking forward to construction of water supply, and is ready to support the development and management. The study design of buildings generate clean water to meet the needs of clean water for the village of Paya Beke with and management by promoting community involvement in both systems management and maintenance ongoing basis.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The Syiah Kuala primary drainage channel in the Lhok Banie drainage block is located in Langsa Barat sub-district, Langsa City. This channel often experiences flooding due to the incapability of existing drainage channel to convey and accommodate stormwater discharge. One of the efforts to mitigate flood inundation is by conducting flood inundation modeling. This research aims to evaluate drainage channel capacity through water level profile modeling as well as to analyze the use of retention ponds as inundation flood control solution. Calculation of flood discharge is carried out using a modified rational method for subsequent use in modeling. Water level profile modeling using the HEC-RAS application was performed on a 2419 m long primary drainage channel and the retention pond analysis was conducted by considering the inflow and outflow discharge in the retention pond. The results of water level profile modeling with HEC-RAS show that the flood discharge elevation is above the elevation of the drainage channel cross-section. This means that the drainage channel capacity will no longer be able to accommodate the flood discharge for a 5-year return period. The channel experiences overtopping throughout its cross-section with maximum overtopping height of 1.23 m located in the channel downstream. The results of calculations for the retention pond using a pump with a capacity of 0.2 m3/s generate a retention pond volume of 32,678.92 m3. This retention pond was planned as flood storage area to temporarily store flood discharge in the Lhok Banie drainage block which has the potential to inundate the city, so that flood risk can be controlled.
