Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe student academic procrastination, (2) Describe student self control, and (3) Test the relationship of self control and academic procrastination in completing thesis. The research subjects were 120 students, using instruments with Likert scale models. The percentage analysis technique and to test the relationship of the data were analyzed using the Pearson Correlation Product Moment statistical formula with the help of the SPSS for Windows version 20.0 program. The results of the study revealed that: (1) the level of academic procrastination in completing the thesis was classified as moderate, (2) the level of student self control in completing the thesis was classified as moderate, and (3) there was a significant positive relationship between self control and academic procrastination in completing the thesis with significance level 0,000, r count 0.566, and r table 0.178.

Abstract

Optimism is a tendency to expect the best results and always think positive when dealing with certain situations. Optimism helps individuals to face the obstacles that appear in achieving goals. This research aim to describe the optimism of guidance and counseling students in completing thesis in terms of aspects permanence, pervasive, and personalization. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive type. The populations of this study were 191 students of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Education, Padang State University who worked on their thesis. The total of sample of 131 students was selected using the Stratified Random Sampling technique. The research used a questionnaire instrument with Likert scale models. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study revealed the optimism of students on; (1) optimism of guidance and counseling students in completing thesis overall they’re in a high category with a percentage 47,33%, (2) optimism of guidance and counseling students in completing thesis based on the permanence aspect is in a high category with a percentage 48,09%, (3) optimism of guidance and counseling students in completing thesis based on pervasive aspect is in high enough category with a percentage 51,15%, (4) optimism of guidance and counseling students in completing thesis based on personalization aspect is in high enough category with a percentage 49,62%. Based on the research findings, it is suggested to the counselor in guidance and counseling services unit (UPBK) to be able to support and provide appropriate counseling services to optimize students optimism and to solve students problems related to the process of completing thesis.

Abstract

Moral intelligence is the ability to understand things that are right and wrong means, have strong ethical beliefs and act on these beliefs, so that people behave properly and respectfully. This study is praised to measure: (1) students' moral intelligence on aspects of empathy, (2) moral intelligence of students in aspects of conscience, (3) moral intelligence of students in aspects of self-control, (4) moral intelligence of students in aspects of respect, (5) moral intelligence of students in aspects of kindness, (6) moral intelligence of students in aspects of tolerance , (7) moral intelligence of students in aspects of justice. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The sample in this study were grade X, XI, XII students of SMA Negeri 7 Padang, totaling 292 students. the data collection tool used was a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical analysis.The results showed that: (1) the moral intelligence of students in SMA 7 Padang based on aspects of empathy was in the high category with a percentage of 54,11%. (2) moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on conscience is in the high enough category with a percentage of 58.56%. (3) the moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on aspects of self-control is in the high enough category with a percentage of 66.10%. (4) the moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on the respect aspect is in the quite high category with the percentage 55.14%. (5) moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on the aspect of tolerance is in the quite high category with a percentage of 51.37%. (6) the moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on aspects of kindness is in the high enough category 45.21% (7) the moral intelligence of students in SMA N 7 Padang based on aspects of justice is in the quite high category with a percentage of 61,99%.Based on the research findings it is suggested to the counselor teacher to be able to support and continue to monitor the moral development of students so that good morale can be maintained and the BK teacher seeks to improve the moral intelligence of students through the provision of BK services in schools relating to student morals.

Abstract

The implementation of the teaching and learning process is inseparable from various learning problems. In the problems experienced by students need to be created an atmosphere of active learning. One factor is the family environment. The relationship between parent and child has a very big influence on children's learning outcomes. Therefore, problems or obstacles experienced by children can be influenced by parents. There’s till found learning problems of children caused by lack of parental support. So it can be concluded the relationship of parental support with learning problems is the provision of support provided by parents such as student interaction or communication with parents. For advice this issue is a good relationship between parents and children. And also parental care is needed in shaping learning skills. This paper will describe the form of learning problems and aspects of parental support and their implications in guidance and counseling.

Abstract

Readiness is someone condition that makes it ready to give a response in makes the point particular to the situation. This research intent for (1) describe teacher readiness braze to perform guidance and counselling service at elementary school one City of Padang is seen of science aspect, (2) describe teacher readiness braze to perform guidance and counselling service at elementary school the one City of Padang is seen of skill aspect, (3) describe teacher readiness braze to perform guidance and counselling service at elementary school the one City of Padang is seen of attitude aspect. This observational type is observational descriptive quantitative. Indigenous observational population teacher brazes elementary school (SD) one City of total Padang 429 teachers braze 4, 5 and 6. The sample were taken to utilize Technic Cluster Random Sampling, so gotten by sample amount as much 37 teachers braze 4, 5, and 6. Research performed by administers instrument questionnaires. Data analysed by percentage analysis. The research findings reveal the teacher readiness braze to perform guidance and counselling service at elementary school one City of Padang in the good category.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are influenced by the ability to complete the learning task. Phenomena in the field most of the students are not able to complete the task given lesson. This study aims to reveal how the relationship between the ability to complete the task of learning to students' learning outcomes. This study uses quantitative type of correlational research. The study population was a junior high school UNP (Padang State University) Development Laboratory by the number of students 384 people. Sample is proportional random sampling by the number of students 78. There is a significant relationship between the ability to complete the task of learning to students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

Achievement motivation can encourage students to learn. In achieving success requires the support of parents. Poverty makes some parents from poor families have little time to guide the children. Consequently, parenting is not going well. This research aims to describe the relationship of  parenting and achievement motivation of students who come from poor families. This  research is quantitative descriptive with correlation metod. The population in this study are all students of SMP Negeri which in category BSM receiver in Padang. Total sample of 170 students, selected by cluster random sampling technique. Data was collected using Likert scale model measurements. Analysis of data using statistical techniques of correlation with the data collected in interval form Then analyzed using percentages. Testing the hypothesis by using the Pearson product moment correlation. The findings of this study are: (1) parenting students who come from poor families in Padang are in good enough category. (2) achievement motivation of students who come from poor families in Padang in low category. (3) There are significant positive relationship between parenting and achievement motivation of students who come from poor families. This result meant that better the care of the parents, the higher achievement motivation of student. Counselor in cooperation with school personnel and parents to encourage students increase achievement motivation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon that there are adolescents who have low self-control and high hedonism. It can be seen that students lie to their parents to send money on the grounds of buying necessities on campus when in fact it is for fun and buying things that are not needed and it is difficult to control themselves to carry out a hedonistic lifestyle. Some even expect Bidikmisi scholarships to buy what they want instead of buying necessities for college or shopping for daily food. This study aims to (1) describe the control of students, (2) describe the hedonistic behavior of students, (3) examine the relationship between self-control and hedonistic behavior of students. This research is a type of quantitative research with a correlational descriptive method. The population in this study of 1906 students of the Faculty of Education, Padang State University, enrolled in 2018 with a sample of 295 people. The instrument used in collecting research data was a questionnaire with a choice of answers using a Likert scale model. The analysis used is a descriptive analysis of percentages and uses the Pearson Product Moment technique with the help of the SPSS For Windows 20.0 program. The results of the study revealed that (1) students' self-control was in a low category. Abstract

Learning achievement is a description of the ability of student after participating in the teaching and learning process within a certain watch range. Ideally, studen who want to obtain optimal learning achievement have good level of self confidence. In fact, in the field there are still student who lack confidence in participating in the teaching and learning process at school. As a result, there are some student who have less than optimal learning achievement. This research was animed to examine the correlaion beetwen self confidence and learning achievement of senior high school students. This research was a quantitative study which involved student in SMAN 1 Kec. Suliki with a sample of 282 students. The intrument use to collect data were self confidence is questionnaire. This data was analyze using descriptive percentage techniques and Pearson Product Moment Correlation techniques. This result shows (1) students self confidence is in the high category, (2) students learning achievement is in the high category, (3) there is a significant positive relationship beetwen self confidence and student achievement. The result show that the coefficient correlation is 0,725 in the significant level of 0,000. So, the highet the self confidence student have, the highet their learning achievemen would be and vice versa.
