Abstract

Literasi Digital menjadi bagian tak terpisahkan dalam Pembelajaran Abad 21, baik guru maupun peserta didik dituntut melek digital guna mendukung pembelajaran berbasis teknologi digital, khususnya pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan moda internet. Pembelajaran daring penuh (online), semi-daring (flipped), atau campuran (blended) merupakan pembelajaran berbasis moda internet. Fakta di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak guru yang mengalami digital illiterate atau kurang terampil dalam memanfaatkan media Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) untuk pembelajaran. Sementara, dunia digital saat ini banyak menawarkan platform nirbayar (freemium) yang dapat digunakan sebagai pendukung proses belajar-mengajar yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Masalah ini menjadi latar pentingnya diselenggarakan workshop literasi digital guna menjawab permasalahan tersebut sekaligus sebagai sarana pemecahan masalah yang dihadapi para guru SMP dan SMA yang berada di Kota Sukabumi dalam pemenuhan pembelajaran digital. Setelah mengikuti workshop yang dilakukan sehari penuh oleh institusi Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) dan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) ini, peserta mampu mempraktikkan dan mengembangkan materi pembelajaran melalui beberapa platform freemium seperti YouTube, Google Classroom, Schoology, atau media sosial seperti Facebook, Instagram dan WhatsApp, termasuk aplikasi QR (Quick Response) Code.Kata kunci: literasi digital, guru SMP-SMA se-Sukabumi, workshop, platform freemium

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the relationship between extrovert and introvert personality and speaking performance of students in class XI Imam Bukhori SMK IT Multimedia An-Nuqthah, Tangerang, Banten. This research method is used as a quantitative correlation study. The population and sample are 21 students of SMK IT Multimedia An-Nuqthah, using simple random sampling in class. A questionnaire is used to determine the student’s personality type, and a test is used to determine the student’s speaking performance. The personality questionnaire and the speaking test scores are correlated by using the Pearson product moment formula. The result of  is higher than  in 5% (0, 9984 > 0, 4329) and 1% (0, 9984 > 0, 5487). The conclusion of this research there is the relationship between students' personality and speaking performance. It is hoped that this research will help achieve goals and success, and also help to be more effective in the process of English teaching. Keywords: personality, extrovert, introvert, speaking

Abstract

Education plays an important role in the formation of human character. One of the keys to successful students who have a strong personality is the selection of learning material. This study aims to explain that moral literacy in the novel The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling in the form of ethical sensitivity, ethical reasoning abilities, and moral imagination. This research is a qualitative descriptive type and uses an objective approach. The theory used is Nancy Tuana's Moral Literacy. The results showed that the form of ethical sensitivity in The Jungle Book is in the brotherhood and heroic action The form of ethical reasoning is in the reasoning for the nature of gratitude and the nature of the consequences of revenge. Moral imagination lies in brotherhood and self-defense efforts. Thus, moral literacy in the novel can be an alternative material for moral literacy the which is useful in the development of students' character.

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing the problems the students encountered while dealing with the lecturer’s indirect corrective feedback on their argumentative writing. This study adapted qualitative approach. The participants involved were 20 fifth semester students of Writing III subject in Jakarta Muhammadiyah University. The study conducted in the period of September-October, 2017. The data were collected using interview and documentation. The data were analyzed through Miles and Huberman Model. The results of study showed that students faced problems with: 1) the writing components such as writing content, writing organization, vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics; 2) Writing plan namely, lack of writing preparation and of learning management; 3. Writing process such as ineffective teamwork, big-size class, no background knowledge of the teacher-assigned topics, incomprehensible teaching materials, unreadable and hard to respond feedback, and lack of motivation. The study concluded that students still faced many problems generally with learning writing and specifically of dealing with the feedback and there should be changes of strategy from the feedback to perform better writing progress.
