Abstract

The purpose of the preparation of this policy text is to identify the factors that cause the 2015-2018 period of 2015-2018 less than optimal performance of the Magelang City of a Million Flowers (MKSB) program. MKSB is a slogan that supports the branding of Magelang City. This program has been implemented for two periods, namely the period 2012-2015 and the period 2015-2018. Evaluation results from various sources indicate that the quality of human resources for implementing the MKSB program and community participation in supporting the program is still low. After conducting a study, it was shown that the 2 obstacles were caused, among others, by the low participation of the community to support the program, so that the community might not feel they belonged to this program which had an effect on low awareness. Therefore, solutions are offered through more targeted community empowerment, the formation of industrial clusters, and the formation of flower clusters.

Abstract

In a research cycle, researchers need to publish their work and readers expect reliable arguments and information. Seeing society and industry needs relate to mechanical engineering for now and in the future, Mechanical Engineering for Society and Industry (MESI) is an important journal to discuss problems and solutions in mechanical engineering practice. The articles in this journal are a representation of scientific editors and advisory boards' dedication, reviewers' contributions in improving articles quality, and authors contributions in providing standardized articles. Hopefully, this journal can be a source of new insights and inspiration for further research, as well as a new reference for society and industry to solve their problems.

Abstract

PT. Papertech Indonesia Unit II merupakan perusahaan manufaktur yang memproduksi kertas. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh PT. Papertech Indonesia Unit II adalah tingginya frekuensi kerusakan mesin Dryer yang mengakibatkan adanya kegiatan perbaikan mesin yang menimbulkan downtime dan berhentinya proses produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan perawatan mesin Dryer dan meminimalkan terjadinya downtime. Metode yang digunakan adalah Reliability Centered Maintenance. Dalam metode ini terdapat tujuh tahapan pengolahan data, yaitu seleksi sistem dan pengumpulan informasi, penentuan batasan sistem, deskripsi sistem dan blok diagram fungsi, penentuan kegagalan sistem, analisis Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, analisis Logic Tree Analysis dan pemilihan tindakan perawatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sub sistem Dryer Grup 3 mempunyai kontribusi terbesar terhadap kerusakan mesin Dryer sebesar 50%. Adapun komponen kritis yang terdapat pada sub sistem Dryer Grup 3 adalah Canvas Roll, Packing Shaft Rotary, Canvas dan Carbon. Berdasarkan hasil perencanaan perawatan dengan metode Reliability Centered Maintenance maka diperoleh rekomendasi agar semua komponen kritis termasuk dalam kategori tindakan perawatan Condition Directed. Dengan diterapkannya metode perawatan Reliability Centered Maintenance sebagai metode perawatan pada komponen kritis, maka berpotensial memberikan dampak positif, yaitu penurunan rata-rata downtime komponen kritis sebesar 23.82%, penurunan rata-rata biaya perawatan sebesar 20.36% dan peningkatan jumlah produksi sebesar 44.8 ton.

Abstract

Tata letak fasilitas adalah salah satu kunci penting perusahaan untuk dapat meningkatkan produktivitas. Tata letak fasilitas melibatkan pengaturan fisik yang sistematis dari berbagai departemen, stasiun kerja, mesin, peralatan, area penyimpanan, dan area umum di industri manufaktur. Dalam lingkungan global yang kompetitif saat ini, tata letak fasilitas yang optimal menjadi faktor yang efektif dalam pengurangan biaya sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas perusahaan. Menjadi sangat penting bagi perusahaan untuk memiliki tata letak fasilitas yang terorganisir dengan baik untuk semua sumber daya yang tersedia secara optimal. Banyak teknik perancangan tata letak fasilitas yang telah dikembangkan sebelumnya, diantaranya algoritma corelap, craft, metode shared storage. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mereview artikel ilmiah tentang Tata Letak fasilitas berdasarkan teknik perancangannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review, dengan mengklasifikasikan beberapa metode Tata Letak Fasiltas sesuai kharakteristik, kelebihan, kelemahan dan alternatif pengembangan lay out nya. Sumber data pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari literatur jurnal nasional, dengan menggunakan search engine “Google Scholar”. Pencarian artikel ilmiah jurnal dibatasi dengan periode terbitan tahun 2016-2021. Kata kunci “ desain tata letak fasilitas “ dan “teknik tata letak fasilitas ” digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi artikel yang relevan. Hasil pencarian tahap satu, diperoleh 3.760 artikel. Kemudian dilakukakan screening kembali berdasarkan topik yang lebih spesifik tentang tata letak fasilitas yang efisien 2.650 artikel jurnal relevan, dan dipilih 10 jurnal yang menyediakan data dan analisis yang komprehensif. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan algoritma banyak digunakan untuk mendesign Tata Letak Fasilitas, dibandingkan pendekatan simulasi. Teknik Algoritma ini mampu memecahkan masalah tata letak fasilitas yang lebih komplek dan rumit, dibandingkan dengan simulasi.

Abstract

Papertech Indonesia merupakan pabrik kertas daur ulang (recycled paper) dengan memproduksi beberapa jenis kertas seperti Chip Board, Super Chipboard, Core A dan Core B. Bahan baku utama dalam produksi adalah Old Corugated Container (OCC) dan Mix Waste (MW). Dalam memenuhi kebutuhan produksi, selama 12 hari perusahaan harus menyediakan bahan baku utama sebanyak 360.000 kg yang dipenuhi oleh empat supplier. Dalam pengelolaanya timbul permasalahan berkaitan dengan belum optimalnya performa supplier yang mengakibatkan ketidaktepatan jumlah bahan baku yang dipasok ke perusahaan dan sering terjadi keterlambatan pengiriman bahan baku. Permasalahan yang lain adalah belum adanya standar kriteria kualitas bahan baku dan standar harga yang ditetapkan oleh perusahaan sehingga kualitas bahan baku tidak terjamin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memilih supplier bahan baku kertas terbaik dengan menggunakan model kriteria quality, cost, delivery, flexibility, resposiveness dan membuat model e-supply chain management untuk mempermudah pemilihan supplier secara otomatis. Hasil studi pustaka dan brainstorming dengan perusahaan menghasilkan lima kriteria dan dua belas subkriteria yang dipertimbangkan dalam menentukan supplier terbaik di PT Papertech Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) untuk menghitung skala rasio dan bobot masing-masing kriteria dan subkriteria dari supplier. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa supplier Sawah Besar menjadi prioritas pertama dalam pemilihan supplier dengan bobot 0.4483, disusul supplier UD Sregep dengan bobot 0.2123, kemudian supplier Cahyo Kertas dengan bobot 0.2084 dan yang terakhir adalah supplier Fada Indonesia dengan bobot 0.1320. Hasil pembobotan AHP digunakan untuk mendesain model e-supply management. Dengan model pengembangan E-SCM dapat memudahkan bagian purchasing dalam pembelian bahan baku.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the United Nations in 2015, are a comprehensive global framework that addresses social, economic, and environmental challenges through sustainable development. This study examines the role of universities, specifically focusing on the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMMA), in contributing to the SDGs. The study utilized data from Elsevier’s SciVal to analyze the department’s contribution to the SDGs through scientific publications in the Scopus database. A total of 97 out of 156 articles published by nine researchers from the department were found to contribute to various SDGs, with a significant focus on Goals 7 (affordable and clean energy), 17 (partnerships for the goals), 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and 12 (responsible consumption and production). The study highlights the department’s collaborative efforts and alignment with global sustainability goals. In addition, VOSviewer was used to map the research collaboration network within the department, revealing strong contributions to energy efficiency, sustainable technologies, and climate action. However, the department's research shows limited contribution to social SDGs such as poverty alleviation and gender equality. By mapping the university’s contributions to the SDGs, this study helps faculty members identify opportunities for targeted research collaborations, address gaps in SDG contributions, and enhance partnerships with researchers from other institutions, thus broadening the university’s impact on global sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Sistem Informasi Dashboard manajemen limbah industri di Badan Lingkungan Hidup kabupaten Magelang merupakan sistem untuk membantu Badan Lingkungan Hidup untuk menampung data-data limbah industri dan melaporkan kepada pemerintah pusat. Pada saat ini Badan Lingkungan Hidup masih menggunakan sistem manual manaement limbah industri yang menyebabkan keterlambatan pembuatan laporan dari industri ke Badan Lingkungan Hidup dan dari Badan Lingkungan Hidup ke provinsi. Tujuan penelitian ini merancang sistem informasi dashboard untuk memberikan informasi manajemen limbah industri yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan Badan Lingkungan Hidup. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu dashboard yang berfungsi untuk memberikan informasi secara menyeluruh yang berbentuk grafik dan untuk memperbandingkan hasil limbah per tahunnya. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa sistem informasi dashboard dapat memberikan data tentang manajemen limbah industri yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan Badan Lingkungan Hidup dan industri.

Abstract

Library systems of Muhammadiyah University of Magelang still uses manual way for the borrowing, renewals and returns processes, so it takes a long time to get information needed. Therefore, it needs adequate library information system for the automatic borrowing, repayment, and borrowing requests processes which produces information quickly and accurately. This research aimed to design an online Self service information system for procces in the library of Muhammadiyah University of Magelang. This system uses the online Self service for the book reservation and book extension process. Self service on this study is in the transaction book service, because the system is able to record borrowing transaction data automatically after the lending process is completed. Thus it is not necessary to input the data manually by officers transaction. This research is able to make a reservation and extension system of books online. In addition the borrowing transactions will be automatically recorded if the user uses the system. The conclusions obtained from this study is the borrower will be easier to borrow and renew online. In addition, the system can also allow officers to keep the records of transactions and to monitor the books on library Muhammadiyah University of Magelang

Abstract

PT Medika Maesindo Global is a manufacturer and exporter of personal protective equipment disposables for medical and industrial applications. Based on preliminary, it was found that unbalanced job distribution and resource efficiency. Thus it created idle time that reached 231,83 second in producing 1 coat velcro, and line efficiency value of 46% which created work in process by 4000 pce coat velcro per day. This research purpose to analyze line balancing on the convert production process using standard minute value method and ranked positional weight method. Result of the analysis using the two method shows that line efficiency reached 89% that increase by 43% from initial condition. Balance delay decreased to 43% from initial condition value of 54% to 11%. smoothness index decreased to 92 from initial condition value of 100 to 8. From the analysis it can be concluded that the proposed line more efficien than the existing line.
