Abstract

Mathematics is a lesson that is always a reference to intelligence and completeness of the process of student education anytime and anywhere. The research aims to analyze the difficulties in the seventh grade students of SMP 4 Wewewa Timur in understanding the concept of mathematical material, namely set. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were six students. Instruments in the process of collecting data are interview guidelines and question test sheets. This study uses data collection techniques including test methods, interview methods, and documentation. The results of the research process found that the difficulty of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Timur in solving questions in the set material as follows: 1) difficulty using the concept; 2) difficulties in carrying out basic mathematical operations and addition and subtraction operations; 3) difficulty understanding the problem of the story and determining the things needed to solve the problem. Student difficulties are caused by several factors, namely 1) internal factors, causes of difficulties that originate from within the student itself; and 2) external factors, student difficulties caused and originating from outside the student. Based on the results of the interview test the factors that influence students and become the cause of student learning difficulties are: 1) low capacity or intelligence of students; 2) not confident, 3)mathematics learning disabilities; 4) learning disability and 5) the influence of the environment around students.

Abstract

The study was conducted aimed at finding out the problems in learning mathematics in junior high schools, especially at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu with alternative solutions. The method used in this study is a qualitative research approach. The research subjects were two students from class IX-1 and IX-6 each representing students from homogeneous and heterogeneous classes, as well as two math teachers at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu who each taught in homogeneous and heterogeneous classes . Analysis of the data used in this study is analysis of observations, questionnaire results and interview transcripts. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the problem of mathematics learning in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu is 1) poor mathematical mastery; 2) learning motivation that is not good; 3) the use of instructional media and 4) the application of learning methods. An alternative solution to these problems is the need for scaffolding when students experience difficulties, there is a personal approach to students, it is necessary to use more interesting learning media, for example macromedia flash and educational games, the application of learning methods tailored to the characteristics of good students for homogeneous and heterogeneous classes.

Abstract

The study was conducted to analyze student errors in the statistical problem-solving process using Newman in terms of metacognitive tacit use. The research method used is qualitative method. Data analysis used is the analysis of the results of the test, questionnaire analysis and analysis of interview transcripts. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the subjects of tacit use metacognitive categories did not know their weaknesses in the learning process, gave inconsistent answers, had little confidence, focused only on answers and not on the process. Subjects with tacit use metacognitive categories made mistakes in solving statistical problems almost at all stages of Newman. Newman's error analysis consists of reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skills errors, encoding errors. The subject is wrong in interpreting the symbol, the subject cannot determine what is known and asked about the question, the subject does not write detailed calculation steps, and the subject cannot conclude the final answer to the problem solving. Errors in completing the test questions occur because the subject does not re-check the answers given in the problem.

Abstract

Paperless yang sedang nyaring digaungkan menuntut dosen untuk menemukan model pembelajaran yang tepat. Pembelajaran yang tadinya berjibaku dengan kertas, mau tidak mau harus diubah dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang menghemat kertas. Pada Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, khususnya Matakuliah Teori Bilangan, hal ini bukan perkara mudah. Matakuliah yang banyak menggunakan teorema, hitung menghitung dengan kegiatan coret mencoret dalam lembaran-lembaran kertas tersebut harus diubah agar hanya menggunakan kertas seminimal mungkin. Mendukung hal tersebut, IKIP Budi Utomo Malang menyiapkan EzCast dan TV LED di ruang kelas. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengembangkan perangkat tersebut dengan menggunakan program Macromedia Flash. Selanjutnya, media pembelajaran audiovisual yang dibuat dengan Macromedia Flash ini digunakan di ruang kelas dengan bantuan EzCast dan TV LED pada matakuliah Teori Bilangan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model Dick and Carrey. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester ganjil 2018/2019 kepada sebanyak 40 mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh Matakuliah Teori Bilangan. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa media pembelajaran audiovisual dengan menggunakan Macromedia Flash yang ditayangkan dengan bantuan EzCast dan TV LED di ruang kelas dapat mendukung program paperless pada matakuliah Teori Bilangan. Model pembelajaran yang sedang dikembangkan ini rupanya mematahkan statement bahwa belajar Teori Bilangan harus selalu menghabiskan banyak kertas.

Abstract

The research was carried out with the aim of analyzing difficulties in the student learning process in online learning in Statistics courses. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative research has several stages as follows: data collection, data reduction and drawing conclusions on research data. The research was conducted at the Indonesian Technocrat University. The research subjects were Students of the Mathematics Education Study Program 2021 Class A who were taking an online Statistics course. Based on the description of the research results, it can be concluded that the difficulties in the student learning process in Statistics courses which are carried out online are influenced by internal factors and external factors. Learning difficulties from internal factors include: difficulties in motivation and interest in learning and difficulties in understanding the material. Learning difficulties influenced by external factors, namely: difficulties in understanding lecturer explanations, signal difficulties and data quotas owned by students, difficulties in using learning applications, limited gadgets owned and difficulties in obtaining support for the learning environment.
