Abstract

Creative thinking in classroom learning needs to be optimized so that students have more skills in dealing with and solving problems that arise, especially those related to mathematics. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of students to think creatively when solving pythagorean theorems in learning with the learning model of Submission and Problem Solving (JUCAMA). This research method is qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 6 eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Laboya Barat, which consisted of 2 students with high mathematics abilities, 2 students with moderate mathematics abilities, and 2 students with low math abilities. Data taken through tests, interviews and documentation. Then the data is analyzed and described. Analysis of creative thinking tests refers to three indicators of creative thinking namely fluency, flexibility, and novelty. The results showed that students who have high math skills can fulfill three indicators of creative thinking based on Siswono theory because they can show fluency, flexibility, and renewal. Students with mathematical abilities are able to fulfill two indicators and cannot fulfill happiness. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical abilities do not fulfill three indicators based on Siswono theory because they are not fluent, not flexible and not renewable in solving the problem.

Abstract

Mathematics is a lesson that is always a reference to intelligence and completeness of the process of student education anytime and anywhere. The research aims to analyze the difficulties in the seventh grade students of SMP 4 Wewewa Timur in understanding the concept of mathematical material, namely set. This research is included in the type of descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were six students. Instruments in the process of collecting data are interview guidelines and question test sheets. This study uses data collection techniques including test methods, interview methods, and documentation. The results of the research process found that the difficulty of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Timur in solving questions in the set material as follows: 1) difficulty using the concept; 2) difficulties in carrying out basic mathematical operations and addition and subtraction operations; 3) difficulty understanding the problem of the story and determining the things needed to solve the problem. Student difficulties are caused by several factors, namely 1) internal factors, causes of difficulties that originate from within the student itself; and 2) external factors, student difficulties caused and originating from outside the student. Based on the results of the interview test the factors that influence students and become the cause of student learning difficulties are: 1) low capacity or intelligence of students; 2) not confident, 3)mathematics learning disabilities; 4) learning disability and 5) the influence of the environment around students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student errors in solving quadratic equations in elementary algebra courses. Mistakes can teach students and lecturers to reflect. This research was conducted on students of 2018-B Mathematics Education program IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. Errors found include mistakes in facts, namely errors in understanding what is known in the problem. The principle error is that the formula used is not in accordance with the questions asked.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan yang ditemukan pada mahasiswa ketika menggambar titik koordinat pada dimensi dua dan dimensi tiga pada mata kuliah Geometri Analitik. Subjek penelitian merupakan 20 mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP Budi Utomo Malang Kelas 2019A yang terdiri dari 14 perempuan dan 6 laki-laki yang penentuannya menggunakan simple random sampling. Terdapat 15 mahasiswa yang melakukan kesalahan dan 5 mahasiswa yang sudah benar dalam menggambar titik koordinat pada dimensi dua, sedangkan dalam menggambar titik koordinat dimensi tiga ditemukan 12 mahasiswa yang melakukan kesalahan dan 8 mahasiswa yang sudah benar. Berdasarkan analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis wacana maka kesalahan yang ditemukan merupakan jenis kesalahan proses keterampilan (process skills errors) diantaranya tidak menggunakan kertas berpetak sehingga jarak antar titik tidak sama, titik koordinat tidak diberi nama, titik koordinat tidak dituliskan, bilangan pada sumbu koordinat tidak dituliskan dan keliru dalam menggambar sumbu koordinat yang benar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa di sekolah dasar dalam memahami pelajaran matematika yang biasa disebut sebagai diskalkulia yang ditinjau berdasarkan gender. Instrumen penelitian berupa sebuah tes yang terdiri dari 8 pertanyaan bersifat uraian yang mengacu pada indikator diskalkulia siswa sekolah dasar yaitu kemampuan mengurutkan angka dari yang nilainya lebih besar atau lebih kecil, kemampuan memilih angka yang mempunyai nilai paling banyak atau paling sedikit, dan kemampuan menyatakan hasil dari sebuah operasi bilangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 3 sekolah dasar sebanyak 150 siswa yang terdiri dari 80 siswa laki-laki dan 70 siswa perempuan. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah data tertulis yaitu hasil pekerjaan siswa sedangkan data tidak tertulis adalah hasil pengamatan dan wawancara. Pada analisis data, dihitung jumlah jawaban bernilai salah dari setiap nomor tes kemudian digolongkan sesuai dengan jenis diskalkulia yang sesuai dan diakhiri dengan wawancara untuk mengetahui kesulitannya. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 2 dari 9 jenis diskalkulia yaitu diskalkulia proctagnostic dan diskalkulia indiagnostic. Diskalkulia proctagnostic merupakan kesulitan belajar matematika dalam membandingkan dan mengurutkan bilangan. Diskalkulia indiagnostic merupakan kesulitan belajar matematika dalam memahami konsep operasi bilangan. Berdasarkan hasil jawaban siswa menunjukkan bahwa persentase jawaban yang paling banyak ditemukan kekeliruan adalah jawaban dari siswa perempuan.

Abstract

Penggunaan multimedia interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran dapat membangkitkan motivasi siswa dalam belajar. Tujuan dikembangkan multimedia interaktif ini adalah menghasilkan media pembelajaran untuk anak SMP pada materi himpunan berbasis puzzle dengan pendekatan kontekstual. Model pengembangan adalah model pengembangan ADDIE dimana terdiri dari lima fase yaitu fase analisis, fase desain, fase pengembangan, fase implementasi serta fase evaluasi. Pada pengembangan ini diuji tingkat validitas dan tingkat keefektifan dari multimedia interaktif yang dikembangkan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa SMP kelas 7. hasil dari rata-rata validatas ketiga validator adalah 3,40 dimana masuk dalam kategori valid untuk diujicobakan, hasil ujicoba menunjukkan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 78,2% dan tingkat persentase respon siswa adalah 84,5% berarti siswa memberikan respon positif. Secara menyeluruh maka multimedia interaktif pada materi himpunan berbasis puzzle dengan pendekatan kontekstual efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaranThe use of interactive multimedia in the learning process can arouse student motivation in learning. The purpose of developing this interactive multimedia is to produce learning media for junior high school children on puzzle-based set material with a contextual approach. The development model is the ADDIE development model which consists of five phases, namely the analysis phase, the design phase, the development phase, the implementation phase and the evaluation phase. In this development, the level of validity and effectiveness of interactive multimedia was tested. The subjects of this study were 25 grade 7 junior high school students. The result of the average validation of the three validators was 3.40 which was included in the valid category to be tested, the test results showed the percentage of student completeness was 78.2% and the percentage level of student response was 84.5% means students give a positive response. Overall, interactive multimedia on puzzle-based set material with a contextual approach is effective for use in the learning process

Abstract

Difficulties in learning Mathematics for children are rarely understood by parents, even parents sometimes do not understand dyscalculia for children. In fact, dyscalculia children need special motivation and guidance. Interactive multimedia can be used as an alternative in giving special guidance for dyscalculia children. The objective of developing this interactive multimedia was to produce a product for elementary school dyscalculia children using android application suitable for a scientific approach. This development research employed four-D models development model which was developed by Thiagarajan. In this design, the researchers tested the validity level, practicality level, and also the effectiveness of the developed multimedia. The research subject was elementary school dyscalculia children especially the third graders. Based on the result of the validity test conducted by three validators, it was shown that the overall average was 3.20 where it was categorized as valid to be used. The result of the practicality test showed that the overall average was 3.09 where it was categorized as practical to be used. The result of effectiveness test showed that the overall average was 3.36 where it was categorized as effective to be used. The conclusion of this research was that the developed scientific approach-based interactive multimedia was practical and effective to be used as a learning source.

Abstract

This study aims to show the effect of counting tactics that will occur when students study student mathematics. The method used in this study used a quasi-experimental method with a research design of Two Group Randomized Subject Posttest Only. Research activities at SD 4 Panggungrejo Kepanjen were carried out from 16 August to 5 October 2022 for second-grade students at SD 4 Panggungrejo Kepanjen. The sample used was 17 students in 2A grade as the experimental class and 20 students in 2B grade as the control group. The research instrument used was a learning achievement test. The research instrument used was a learning achievement test. The data analysis technique in this study used the t-test to test the proposed hypothesis. The results obtained were counted as much as 0.606 and then consulted using a significance level of 0.05 and 35 degrees of freedom obtained a ttable value of 1.6897. The value of tcount < ttable (0.606 <1.6897) then H0 is accepted, as a result there will be no disparity that will occur in students' mathematics learning between classes taught with arithmetic strategies compared to students with techniques using traditional algorithms. In conclusion, there is no effect of learning the art of arithmetic management on students' mathematics learning outcomes.
