Abstract

used ethnopharmacological by the community as a medicine derived from nature and contains alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, quinones, steroids, coumarins, and phenolics. This study aims to determine the antihistamine effect of the ethyl acetate fraction of Kopasanda leaves (Chromolaena odorata L.) on white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which were previously acclimated for a week and given shrimp juice. The design in this study used a laboratory experiment where 15 white rats were separated into 5 groups, each group consisting of 3 rats. The first group was given Loratadine suspension as a control (+), the second group was sodium carboxymetic cellulose suspension as a control (-), the third, fourth and fifth groups as the treatment group were given the ethyl acetate fraction suspension of Kopasanda leaves (Chromolaena odorata L.) with a dose of 50 each , 100 and 200 mg/Kg BW all treatments were given orally. The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction of Kopasanda leaves (Chromolaena odorata L.) at doses of 50 mg/Kg BW, 100 mg/Kg BW, and 200 mg/Kg BW had no efficacy as an antihistamine in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) that were given shrimp juice and it can be seen based on the decrease in Ig E levels at the pretest and posttest which was not statistically significant on the T-test, there was no significant difference (P<0.05).Keywords: Antihistaminic; Ethyl Acetate Fraction; Kopasanda Leaves; White RatsKopasanda (Chromolaena odorata L.) merupakan tanaman yang berasal dari keluargaAsteraceae dan telah digunakan secara etnofarmakologi oleh masyarakat sebagai obat yang berasal dari alam dan  mengandung senyawa alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, tannin, kuinon, steroid, kumarin, dan fenolik.
