Abstract

Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) is a reciprocal relationship between leaders and subordinates. The high quality of LMX will have a good impact on the progress of an organization. This research is quantitative research to examine the effect of gender role identity: masculinity on the leader-member exchange (LMX) with emotional intelligence as an intervening variable. The focus of this research is to find out the most commonly adopted gender identity trends, and their impact on the relationship between leaders and subordinates. This research uses data collection method with questionnaire method for civil servants. The results showed that gender role identity: masculinity, directly affects leader-member exchange (LMX), and can affect indirectly with emotional intelligence as an intervening variable.

Abstract

Komunikasi yang efektif terjadi ketika seseorang yang menerima informasi memiliki pemahaman yang sama dengan yang mengirimkan-nya. Kemampuan komunikasi seseorang dapat meningkatkan produktivitas individu maupun kelompok. Komunikasi juga memiliki fungsi kontrol, fungsi memotivasi, fungsi untuk mengekspresikan perasaan, dan emosi, juga sebagai alat informasi. Setiap orang memiliki kecenderungan terhadap gaya komunikasi tertentu. Kecenderungan terhadap gaya komunikasi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh perpaduan antara hereditas dan faktor lingkungan seseorang. Gaya komunikasi adalah kombinasi dari berbagai komponen, seperti pola suara, gerak mata, ekspresi wajah. Agar dapat bekomunikasi dengan baik, gaya komunikasi kita harus fleksible, disesuaikan dengan situasi dan gaya komunikasi orang yang kita ajak bicara.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many governments require companies to promote a work from home policy. However, many occupations cannot be done at home, putting the employees at increased health risk and increasing job stress. The purpose of this study is to examine whether job stress negatively affects job performance. Furthermore, we also examine the moderating effect of Covid-19 information on the relationship between job stress and job performance. Our respondents are employees who work in manufacturing firms in Salatiga and still have to work from the office during the pandemic. The data were collected using an online questionnaire, and the total number of respondents is 105. Our analysis using moderated regression analysis founds that job stress negatively influences job performance. We also found that Covid-19 information moderates the relationship between job stress and job performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of job insecurity on subjective well-being and the impact on job performance, with a growth mindset as the moderating variable.  The COVID-19 pandemic has been running for more than 1 year and this research was conducted during the pandemic period. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies and other units were adversely affected so that the companies’ performance declined, PT Armada Finance is one of those. Therefore, this study expected that job insecurity influences subjective well-being, and subjective well-being influences job performance. Furthermore, a growth mindset is also expected to have a moderating influence on the subjective well-being of the employees to increase job performance. The results of regression and moderated regression analysis (MRA) on 75 samples collected from employees of PT Armada Finance company in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, show that job insecurity does not influence subjective well-being. The result also shows that subjective well-being has a positive influence on job performance. In addition, this study also suggests that having a growth mindset could be moderating subjective well-being to increase job performance.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of work-family conflict on work stress. Furthermore, we also examine the mediating role of work stress on the relatioship between work-family conflict on cyberloafing. Results of path analysis on 133 respondents form PT. AIC, Semarang, Indonesia shows that work-family conflict positively affects work stress. This research also indicated that work stress did not act as an intervening variable because the respondents had other stress coping mechanism than cyberloafing.

Abstract

In today's digital era, students are very close to the internet. Today's students are students of the z generation, students who are not free from the internet. They access the internet using gadgets that they can carry anywhere and can access the internet wherever they want, this results in cyberloafing. Cyberloafing is the behavior of using the internet in a learning environment for personal interests that are not related to assignments at school. This can affect the productivity and creativity of students, so this study was conducted with the aim to examine the effect of cyberloafing on productivity, cyberloafing on creativity and creativity on productivity. This type of research is a type of quantitative research using statistical calculations with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis methods. Using a purposive sampling method, by looking for respondents who meet criteria such as students with a generation of z and also open gadgets to open things that have nothing to do with learning during lecture hours. The results of this study state that cyberloafing has a significant effect on productivity with a probability value of 0.009 <0.05, then cyberloafing has a significant effect on creativity with a probability value of 0.026 <0.05, then creativity also has a significant effect on productivity with its probability value as big as *** or the value is less than 0.001 <0.05 and in this study also gets the results that creativity can mediate the influence of cyberloafing on productivity in student generation z with a coefficient of 0.027. Based on the results of these studies it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between cyberloafing on productivity, cyberloafing on creativity and creativity on productivity and creativity can mediate the influence of cyberloafing on productivity in student generation z.

Abstract

The contribution of this research is to fill the gaps in the literature on community marketing, especially for batik SMEs. The purpose of this research is to construct a batik SME business performance model by including entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and cognitive bias (CB) variables, marketing strategies, and the role of the community on business performance. The data of 309 respondents was obtained from a survey of batik SMEs in Central Java, Indonesia. It was then analyzed using structural equation models and AMOS software. It was found that CB can affect business performance mediated by EO. Meanwhile, the existence of a batik SME community can influence business performance mediated by marketing strategies. Future research needs to explore the dynamics of community formation which can then help SMEs to develop and market their products. Besides that, it is necessary to further investigate the role of the community in carrying out marketing, from conventional methods to community marketing.

Abstract

Employee performance is the result achieved by the employee in completing the work assigned by the company to the employee. The inconsistencies of previous research and also overlooking the chance that organizational commitment may act as intervening variable is the problem that this research highlight. The purpose of the study was to test the effect of work motivation and work environment on employee performance with organizational commitment as an intervening variable. This type of research is causal-quantitative research. Saturation sampling was used in this research.  110 employees of PT Abioso Batara Alba, Boyolali Regency, as the sample. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire. The hypothesis testing technique is in the form of path analysis using SPSS version 20 and the Sobel test. The results showed that work motivation had an effect on employee performance. Organizational commitment does not mediate the effect of work motivation on employee performance. Good work motivation will increase employee performance. The work environment has an effect on employee performance. Organizational commitment does not mediate the effect of the work environment on employee performance. Employee performance will improve if they are motivated at work. Employees do not need to be devoted to the firm to increase performance because the company's good work motivation will directly improve employee performance. Employees do not need to be dedicated to the company first in order for the construction of a nice work environment to have a direct impact on employee performance.

Abstract

The phenomenon that has occurred in recent years is that millennials feel more stressed than other generations who are older at work. Developing a bad habit due to many activities driven by instant life style may have add to this problem. This study examines the effect of habits, workload, and work environment on work stress on millennial generation employees. The research method used in this research is quantitative research using questionnaire with 140 respondents. Using multiple regression analysis, this study shows the results that habits have a positive influence on work stress on millennial generation employees, the workload does not influence work stress on millennial generation employees, and the work environment negatively influence work stress on millennial generation employees.
