Abstract

In the processing of solid rubber, such as the manufacture of crumb rubber and rubber smoke sheet, one of the most important stages is the coagulation process using coagulant. The coagulation process is instrumental in determining for quality the rubber produced. Low quality of bokar is caused by farmers using coagulant which are not recommended. Because of that, it’s necessary to found the alternative coagulant that does not damage the quality and the price is relatively cheap. The purpose of this research is gets the best dosage of coconut shell liquid smoke for latex coagulation and to evaluate quality crepe rubber coagulum using coconut shell liquid smoke. The quality observed is dirt content, ash content, volatile matter, PRI, Mooney viscosity, and color index was implemented at PTPN VII, Way Berulu, Pesawaran District. The doses used were 0,1%, 1,5%, 2%, 2,5%, and 3%. The result showed that the most effective dose used in this research was 1% with quality approaching formic acid treatment. Keywords: coconut shell, formic acid, latex coagulant, liquid smoke

Abstract

Obstacles factor to get natural rubber raw materials is less efficient for latex processing into concentrated latex, because it need a long time that 2-3 weeks. Centrifugation method many used by concentrated latex factory because it can concentrate the latex with a short relatively time. While the weakness of the centrifugation method is more expensive if that  compared with the curdling. With the weakness centrifugation method and curdling, in this research, making the concentrated latex are used  vibration method, with the addition of curdle. The purpose of this research is to get the optimum vibrations speed for the concentrated latex manufactured, the speed of the vibrations are used 150 rpm, 175 rpm, 200 rpm, 225 rpm and 250 rpm. The design are used in this research is Randomized Block Design with 6 treatments was repeated 4 times, then obtained 24 units of the experiment, if there is a real difference, then used the BNT at the level of 5% and the data analysis process using Minitab version 16. the most optimum RPM are used in this research is 225 with a quality approaching the standard.

Abstract

Program Hutan Rakyat dengan komoditas pala, sejak tahun 2010 diikuti oleh sekitar 80% petani Desa Tanjung Jati, Kecamatan Kotaagung Timur, Kabupaten Tanggamus, Provinsi Lampung. Saat ini tanaman pala sudah mulai berbuah, namun pengolahan buahnya sebatas penjemuran fuli, biji, dan daging buah pala, sedangkan harga daging buah pala masih sangat rendah (basah Rp.2.000/kg atau kering Rp.7.000/ kg). Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi jangka pendek untuk membangun usaha pengolahan pala menjadi produk manisan, sirup, permen, dodol, wajik, wingko rasa pala, untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk. Objeknya adalah Kelompok Tani Berkah Jaya dan Kelompok Wanita Tani Khanggom Dipati dari Dusun Banjar Sari, Desa Tanjung Jati. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: penanganan pasca panen pala, peningkatan nilai tambah olahan pala, pelatihan manajemen usaha, pelatihan administrasi keuangan usaha, pelatihan desain kemasan dan promosi produk, pendampingan pemasaran produk, konsultasi dan bimbingan tanpa batas. Usaha yang dijalankan adalah produksi dan penjualan manisan pala dengan BEP 1,8 sedangkan usaha olahan lainnya belum mendapat pasar yang memadai.
