Abstract

Coral reef is one of the most important ecosystem in marine environment. With high biodiversity and productivity as one of their characteristic makes coral reef value in nature regulation cannot be replaced. This study held from July until October 2018. The aim of this study is to understand coral reefs in Liukang Tangaya waters. Data collection using Underwater Photo Transect method. The result are, from 15 observation station show that coral reefs in Liukang Tangaya in damaged condition with average of live coral is 18.91% with the main cause come from destructive fishing.

Abstract

The coastal area of Tanalili District has many coastal and marine natural resources. However, its utilization has not been well managed and has resulted in uncontrolled utilization. This research aimed to: (1) Identify the condition and potential of coastal natural resources (2) Analyze the suitability of land to its designation (3) Integrate land use zoning (4) Determine coastal and marine area development strategies. This research was conducted in January to March 2018. Potential of coastal resources, land suitability and zoning were analyzed using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and SWOT for development analysis. The results of this study indicate the area of 96.38 Ha mangrove ecosystem, seagrass 31,68 Ha, coral reefs 192,81 Ha. Zoning area showed a general utilization area of 6.132,49 Ha which was divided into 4 zones; aquaculture zone with an area of 1.012,31 Ha, capture fisheries zone with an area of 4.875,76 Ha, a port zone with an area of 46,91 Ha and other zones covering an area of 197,51 Ha. The area of marine protected area is 1,393.99 Ha and the regional sea lanes for shipping activities is 526.88 Ha. The results of the development policy analysis were the provision of a potential data base, the formation of business groups in accordance with the potential, compilation of management plans according to zoning, improvement of human resources quality both the community and related stakeholders and rehabilitation programs to control physical damage to the coast and ecosystems by involving the community.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of (1) Identifying the socio-economic characteristics of small fishermen, (2) Analyzing the welfare level of small fishermen, (3) Formulating strategies to improve the welfare of small fishermen in Tokke Village, Malangke District, North Luwu Regency. This study was analyzed based on each objective. The first objective was analyzed by descriptive analysis using the interview method, questionnaire, documentation and direct observation supported by two data, primary and secondary data. Respondents in this study were all small fishermen in Tokke Village and informants who were considered to know the most problems faced by fishermen in the field. The second objective is analyzed by combining income analysis and welfare indicator analysis, while the third objective is analyzed by the SWOT analysis method. The results showed that fishermen's socioeconomic characteristics were influenced by fishermen's income, fishermen age, education level, fishing facilities and infrastructure used by fishermen. The level of welfare of small fishermen in Tokke Village, Malangke Subdistrict, North Luwu Regency, as many as 34% of fishing households have a low welfare level and 66% of fishermen households are at moderate welfare level. Some SWOT analysis strategies are found from various internal and external factors related to improving the welfare of small fishermen, namely the utilization of potential fishery resources, the development of alternative businesses, the development of facilities and infrastructure of the coastal area, alternative livelihoods, development of capital systems, utilization of existing production into processed products. through human resource development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of socioeconomic feasibility of the pond cultivation business and formulate a sustainable development policy strategy for the pond cultivation business in the Lawallu village of Barru Regency. who works as a shrimp farmer in Lawallu Village. Analysis of the data used consists of business feasibility analysis (profit analysis, NPV, IRR, Net B / C, BEP), analysis of community social conditions and SWOT analysis.The results showed that the profit analysis was able to produce a large enough value based on the results of that the average net income or the benefits that could be generated from this aquaculture business could reach IDR. 21,165,179 per cycle and IDR. 84,660,714 per year. From the acquisition of each investment analysis shows the analysis of investment criteria obtained NPV values> 0, net B / C> 1 and IRR> of the applicable interest rate (11%), so it can be concluded from the pond cultivation business in Lawallu Village Barru Regency has high feasibility to be developed. From the results of the analysis and discussion of the prospects for developing a pond aquaculture business in Lawallu Village by using a SWOT matrix based on internal and external factors that exist in a traditional pond business there are 9 strategies to be developed.

Abstract

Liukang Tuppabiring is a waters with marine biodiversity potential large enough to be developed and managed sustainably. Utilization around the coral reefs in the waters of the Liukang Tuppabiring sub-district currently tends to lead to destructive use, so it is necessary to take damage prevention measures immediately. The results showed the condition of coral cover in the medium and damaged, while at stations 1,2,3,4,6 (25,47-41.07%), while conditions were good at station 5 (56.20%). The number of individual reef fish is 290 individuals from 46 species of 22 genera 11 families. At the research location also identified one type of protected biota namely Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata). Coral damage that occurred at 6 observation stations was more caused by the practice of using destructive and environmentally unfriendly fishing equipment such as bombs, trawls, and the use of poisons. The priority strategies undertaken in the management of coral reefs at the study site are 1) Management of environmentally friendly coral reefs where the community as a manager with strong support from the Government; 2) Making clear rules related to utilization in coral reef areas and establishing a POSMAKWAS institution to avoid more severe coral damage; 3) Improve supervision and law enforcement must be firm in relation to the use of fishing gear that can damage coral reef ecosystems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of human resources, technology, ATONs adequacy, ATONs maintenance, ATONs replacement, and ATONs security partially and simultaneously on the reliability of ATONs at Makassar Main Port. This research was conducted from February 2019 to April 2019 at the Makassar Class I Navigation District Office with the respondent sampling technique using a simple random sampling technique, taking samples from the total number of Civil Servants at the Makassar Class I Navigation District Office as respondents to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable either partially or simultaneously. Data processing in this study used the SPSS for Windows Version 20 program. The results of this study indicate that, (1) Human resources, technology, ATONs adequacy, ATONs maintenance, ATONs replacement, and ATONs security partially have a positive and significant effect on the reliability of ATONs in Makassar Main Port. (2) Human resources, technology, ATONs adequacy, ATONs maintenance, ATONs replacement, and ATONs security simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the reliability of ATONs at Makassar Main Port.

Abstract

Barong shrimp or lobster (Panilurus sp) is one of the fishery commodities that has high economic value. However, until now barong shrimp is still widely done with the effort of fishing activities only. The frequency of high capture so that the resources of barong shrimp in this marine ecosystem are increasingly decreasing and there can even be excess capture (over fishing) and damage marine resources as a place to live barong shrimp. The purpose of this study is (1) Analysis of the physical and chemical characteristics of the marine waters of barong shrimp, (2) Determining the location / land suitable for the business of shrimp farming. The research method is to use field survey methods by collecting primary and secondary data. Primary data includes the physical and chemical parameters of marine waters. Secondary data collected from related reports and documents include, potential coastal and marine resources, climatological characteristics, batimethri, substrate types, and related policies. The results of the analysis of the area of the suitability value of the location of the waters for the development of Barong shrimp sea cultivation in the waters of Barrang Caddi Island were obtained 3.31 ha and did not match 0.60 ha. The result of the physical and chemical parameters of the waters is; (a) The físika parameter consists of: depth of 4.10 m – 20.5 m, brightness of 6.00 m - 8.20 m, current speed of 0.14 m / second - 0.39 m / second (b). Chemical Parameters consist of water temperature ranging from 27.0 ºC - 29.00 ºC, salinity of waters by 31.50 ppt - 35.20 ppt, (e). pH of 7.32 - 8.50. The results of the evaluation of the value of the suitability of the waters for the development of Barong shrimp sea cultivation in the waters of Barrang Caddi Island covering an area of 3.31 Ha. Abstract

The coastal area in Parepare Bay, Suppa District, Pinrang Regency has biodiversity that can be utilized by humans. This makes it vulnerable to natural damage. The suitability of pond land is the most important thing in shrimp farming to maintain production levels and ensure better development of pond farming businesses. The purpose of this study was to analyze the suitability of the coastal land of Parepare Bay for pond activities. The research was conducted in a qualitative method by collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation during April to June 2021. The results showed that the use of coastal land in Parepare Bay for pond cultivation is still feasible and appropriate.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the management value of the Untia Fishing Port Area based on eco-fishingport parameters and to determine the status of the Untia Fishing Port Area management assessment. This study was conducted at the Untia Fishing Port from May to June 2023. The method in this study was carried out by going directly to the field and conducting interviews and questionnaire assistance with 25 respondents who were samples. The selection of respondents was carried out using the purposive sampling method, namely the selection of respondents deliberately through several considerations. The respondents selected were respondents who were directly involved or who were considered to have the ability and understand the problems related to the Untia Fishing Port and were able to answer the problem formulation of this study. Sampling using purposive sampling, namely sampling whose members were selected deliberately based on the knowledge and beliefs of the researcher. And analyzed with Likert Scale Analysis. Results of the study show that the assessment of eco-fishingport parameters for each aspect at the Untia Fishing Port produces an index value for the Physical Environment Aspect of 0.75, Socio-Economic Aspect of 0.15, Fishery Commodity Aspect of 0.51 and Supervision Aspect of 0.19, so the total index value of each parameter is 1.60 which is in the moderate category or requires improvement in all performance and aspects of port environmental control towards the criteria of an environmentally friendly port (eco-fishingport).

Abstract

The aims of this research are; (1) Ecological analysis of coastal waters for development of cultivating mangrove crab (2) Assessing the condition of mangrove forest ecosystems, (3) testing prototypes of technology for crab cultivation businesses in mangrove forest areas. Primary data includes physical and chemical parameters as well as mangrove forest conditions. The results of observations of the condition of the mangrove area, for the Important Index Value (INP) of mangroves, Rhizopora, sp sampling I (191.2), sampling II (181.7), sampling III (205.0), this shows that in sampling III for The Rhizopora sp type has a greater role in maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem. For the dominance index value, the value for all stations is 0.02 – 0.03. This shows that there is no species that dominates other species or the community is in a stable condition. Meanwhile, the species diversity index value in the entire sampling area has low species diversity, namely 0 < H < 2. The results of physical observations of waters, the results of tidal data processing using the Admiralty method show that the mean sea level (MSL) is 200.41 cm, The lowest low sea level (LLWL) is 112.86 cm and the highest high sea level (HHWL) is 279.41 cm, the tidal range (range) is 166.36 cm. From the value of the Formzahl number (F value = 1.89) it can be concluded that the type of tide around the observation location is a mixed tidal type that tends to be single daily. The results of observations of water salinity parameters at the research location ranged from 25.0 - 27.1 ‰ with an average value of average 26.0 5 ‰, pH, nitrite (NO2), nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4) in water. The average pH value of 6.90, the average nitrite content value of 0.020, the average nitrate content value of 0.236 and the average phosphate content of 0.145 indicate good water quality for mariculture purposes, and also indicate the condition of the waters that have not been polluted.The growth of mud crabs fed with crab food had a good growth effect compared to those given trash fish feed.
