Abstract

Unit Pelaksana Teknis Jaringan dan Komputer (UPT-JAR) merupakan divisi yang bertanggungjawab dalam pemeliharaan jaringan serta laboratorium komputer di lingkungan Institut Asia Malang. Beberapa pelayanan teknis umum harian yang rutin dikerjakan antara lain troubleshooting computer, pelayanan peminjaman inventaris jaringan hingga pendaftaran akun HotSpot. Keseharian kegiatan UPT-JAR ini dilaporkan dan ditulis dalam sebuah buku administrasi. Sistem pencatatan yang masih bersifat manual ini seringkali menjadi sebuah masalah krusial ketika didapati sulitnya mencari rekam jejak pelayanan, seperti troubleshooting, peminjaman barang ataupun presensi kehadiran asisten laboratorium. Sebuah rancangan sistem informasi berbasis QR-Code diajukan melalui penelitian ini untuk menjawab kebutuhan UPT-JAR dalam melaksanakan pekerjaannya sehari-hari. Pemanfaatan QR-Code dalam ID Card asisten laboratorium digunakan untuk proses presensi, pelaporan troubleshooting sampai kepada proses peminjaman inventaris. Sementara QR-Code pada inventaris membantu petugas dalam mengetahui informasi detil barang, baik jenis, lokasi hingga status peminjaman. Proses perancangan dibangun dengan menggunakan unified modelling language untuk menjadi landasan pembuatan sistem yang lebih terstruktur, yang meliputi 4 bagian yaitu use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram dan class diagram.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reduced most of MSME revenue, including Pelangi Nusantara Singhasari Foundation (PELANUSA). Market demand has decreased drastically, many activities and production have been delayed, which have an impact on the decline in sales turnover. This forces all activities to shift to the digital realm to ensure business continuity. In fact, the process of migrating community activities from conventional systems to digitalization poses a new problem for the management. The use of platforms that are still fragmented, the lack of knowledge of digital marketing concepts, to the limitations of the management in carrying out empowerment activities, especially for members of the disabled community. Seeing this phenomenon, Institut Asia Malang collaborated with PT. Ina Gata Persada proposed an innovative solution in the form of a digital empowerment application called PELAWONS (PELANUSA for Women and Disabilities). To achieve the suitability of the purpose of PELAWONS with functionality and timeliness, it takes an analysis and proper software design. SCRUM is considered to be able to produce good quality software according to user desires, can be used in large and small projects, and easy to adopt changes. We developed PELAWONS refers to the five main steps on SCRUM process: establishing SCRUM team, defining list of the product backlogs, arranging the sprint phase, analyzing the progress through daily scrum, and evaluating the result with sprint review. SCRUM methodology adoption in designing PELAWONS proven to be able to accelerate the application development process and reduce the risk of project failure through system flexibility.

Abstract

The limitation of sensors energy make energy efficiency still a priority issue in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology. One effort that can be done to overcome this problem is to design the right data transmission path (or better known as routing). Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) is one of the most widely used cluster-based routing protocols because it is considered capable of minimizing the amount of energy consumption through the formation of clusters or groups of nodes. Unfortunately, this protocol will experience a significant decrease in energy as the amount of data transmission increases. This is partly due to the clustering process which is carried out randomly and causes an imbalance in the distribution of the number of nodes between clusters. This study proposed a method to optimize the clustering process in the LEACH protocol by integrating the K-Means algorithm, which is called LEACH-KMe. A simulation was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the proposed method by considering 4 main parameters, namely total energy consumption, number of alive nodes, number of dead nodes, and residual energy. The test results proved that the LEACH-KMe protocol provides better performance than the conventional LEACH protocol (more even distribution of nodes, less total energy consumption and number of dead nodes, as well as a larger number of alive nodes and residual energy).

Abstract

The placement of an Access Point (AP) is an important key to determine the spread of the signal. To get the optimal spread of signals, a network designer is required to understand how much coverage an AP can generate. A prediction is given to describe the coverage area produced based on AP placement for the wireless campus network, using a coordinate map modeling based on the real size for the indoor environment. The theoretical approach is used to determine the coverage area of an AP device by testing the function of the distance between the AP and the user. The results show that the signal generated by an AP will cover the entire area that is still on the LOS propagation path. The coverage area generated through AP placement in this case study reached 77.5%. The maximum distance between the AP and the user so that it is within the coverage area is 13.851m. There are still areas that are not covered by the AP, especially for the NLOS propagation path because of the obstruction around the AP.

Abstract

Tingginya kebutuhan informasi melalui internet masyarakat modern kerap dihadapkan pada permasalahan mengenai keamanan informasi. Mudahnya data diperoleh melalui internet sepatutnya diimbangi dengan jaminan kerahasiaan data dari orang-orang yang tidak berkepentingan. Proses autentikasi menjadi salah satu tahapan yang penting untuk dilakukan dalam memverifikasi kepemilikan akses pengguna terhadap sebuah data. Berbeda dengan jaringan wireless yang umumnya menggunakan mekanisme static password, jaringan kabel justru tidak menawarkan adanya proses autentikasi di dalamnya. Hal ini dapat menjadi celah bagi para penjahat siber untuk mengambil data secara illegal atau merusak tatanan sistem. Untuk itu, menambahkan mekanisme autentikasi dalam penggunaan internet di area kampus dianggap penting untuk dilakukan. Penelitian ini secara khusus menggabungkan mekanisme OTP untuk proses autentikasi dan algoritma AES untuk pengamanan data autentikasi pada sistem login internet kampus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi metode OTP dan algoritma AES mampu menjaga integritas dan kerahasiaan informasi login pengguna, serta memberikan akses internet secara tepat guna hanya bagi pengguna yang memiliki kredensial.

Abstract

Melihat pentingnya fungsi server sebagai penyedia informasi dan layanan dalam sebuah siklus bisnis, maka penting untuk memastikan bahwa server untuk memiliki tingkat realibilitas dan aksesbilitas yang baik. Tingginya lalu lintas trafik dalam jaringan tidak menutup kemungkinan adanya kegagalan perangkat lunak maupun fisik yang menyebabkan server mengalami down untuk sementara waktu. Penggunaan konsep cluster server saat ini menjadi alternatif cost effectiveness yang lebih baik dibandingkan harus menyediakan single server dengan spesifikasi tinggi. Namun, penggunaan cluster server juga harus diimbangi dengan adanya keseimbangan layanan antar cluster sehingga reliabilitas server tetap terjamin. Penelitian ini secara khusus mengusulkan sebuah konsep penyeimbangan beban pada cluster server dengan menggunakan mekanisme dynamic load balancing, yang disebut cluster-based load balancing (CLB) server. Untuk mengevaluasi tingkat keefektifan konsep CLB server, tiga buah scenario pengujian telah dilakukan dan didapatkan hasil bahwa CLB server memberikan peningkatan pengaksesan data mencapai 196.38% dan pengurangan response time transaksi mencapai 66.04% lebih baik dibandingkan dengan single server.

Abstract

Pengujian perangkat lunak diperlukan untuk mengetahui kualitas dari perangkat lunak yang telah dibangun. Hasil dari pengujian sistem nantinya akan digunakan sebagai acuan untuk melakukan perbaikan dan pemeliharaan sistem. Salah satu metode pengujian perangkat lunak berdasarkan kualitasnya adalah metode McCall. Metode ini menawarkan pengujian 11 faktor kualitas dari sebuah perangkat lunak berdasarkan pengalaman yang dialami oleh pengguna. Penelitian ini menerapkan 4 faktor kualitas McCall untuk menguji kualitas dari sistem informasi manajemen TBM Pondok Sinau LENSA. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi memiliki nilai correctness sebesar 92,4%, faktor kualitas reliability sebesar 96%, faktor kualitas efficiency yang meliputi tingkat kepuasan pengguna sebesar 94% dan rata-rata kecepatan waktu akses fitur sistem informasi sebesar 15.875 detik per akses, serta faktor kemudahan pengguna memahami operasional sistem informasi sebesar 93,71%.

The traditional methods of rose cultivation often rely on manual irrigation practices, which may not always be precise or efficient. Additionally, the cost associated with implementing automated irrigation systems has been a limiting factor for many farmers. This research addresses these challenges by exploring the integration of Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) technology and low-cost electronic devices to develop an automated irrigation system tailored for rose cultivation, aiming to enhance precision and accessibility in agricultural practices. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach in optimizing watering practices, showcasing a notable level of accuracy in providing irrigation recommendations. Moreover, the implementation of low-cost electronic devices enhances the accessibility and feasibility of such smart irrigation systems. The research lays a foundation for advancements in precision agriculture, particularly in the domain of rose cultivation, with potential implications for broader agricultural practices.

Abstract

As a country with the most volcanoes in the world, the Indonesian government must provide accurate and up-to-date information on the activity of active volcanoes. Until 2021, only 59% of mountains were directly monitored. Monitoring volcanic activity is not an easy thing to do. Visual observation alone is not enough, and instrumental comment is needed. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a new opportunity to conduct a real-time and low-cost monitoring system for volcanic activity. However, the placement of independent WSN sensors in locations that are difficult to access creates new reliability and energy consumption problems. Therefore, we need a reliable communication line design for data transmission and path determination that does not drain sensor energy. This study specifically evaluates the performance of several routing protocols on WSN (proactive, reactive, and hybrid) to provide recommendations for the best routing design for volcanic activity monitoring needs. The simulation results of 6 WSN routing protocols using the NS-2 simulator show that the proactive protocol provides the smallest delay value, and the reactive protocol shows the highest data transmission success ratio but with the best residual energy. In contrast, the hybrid protocol could maintain a stable throughput value during data transmission.

Abstract

The evaluation of website content is important to ensure that the presented content aligns with users' needs and preferences. This can be accomplished by analyzing user reviews regarding the website's content. This research leverages the Hierarchical Dirichlet Process (HDP) method to automatically identify primary topics from 32 users' reviews, resulting in three main recurring topics: 'good', 'bug', and 'update'. Using the OSEMN framework, the final evaluation indicates that the 'good' topic exhibits the highest cosine similarity value compared to other topics. This signifies that the positive aspects highlighted in users' reviews regarding the website's content dominate and possess significant similarities among the reviews. These findings offer crucial insights into comprehending user evaluations of website content, serving as a basis for more effective and targeted content improvements moving forward.
