Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the maturity level of avocado and color changes using simple device such as smartphone camera. Avocado with 3 different maturity level A1:<80%, A2:80-85%, and A3:>85% were collected from local farmer in Bandungan, Central Java. The quality evaluation was carried out on 99 avocado (weight of 366±16 g) which included the evaluation of mass loss (%), firmness (kg/mm2), total soluble solids (°brix), and color changes (picture of fruit were taken using smartphone camera and analyzed using Photoshop CC 2019 from Adobe and converted into HSI values). The data were analyzed using two-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with factor design are the level of maturity and storage time of the avocado. The results indicated that the maturity level were significantly different (p≤0.05) for mass loss, firmness and total soluble solids (TSS) of avocado during storage. The relationship between maturity level and color changes shows the MAPE (mean absolute percent error) value for hue, saturation, intensity ranges between 3,31-6,11%; 11,12-15,79%, and 6,10-6,49% with the light intensity of 527,77 lux. The results indicate that the image processing on smartphone camera is able to describe the level of maturity based on the color changes of avocado during storage with the same treatment conditions.

Abstract

One of the villages in Banyumas District, Central Java Province, Indonesia, which utilizes part of its land for yards, dryland and wetland agriculture, plantations and tropical forests is Pasir Kidul Village. There are various tubers in Pasir Kidul including purple sweet potatoes. Some of the purple sweet potatoes in Pasir Kidul Village are only sold at a very cheap price of Rp. 2500,-/kg. So far, the people of Pasir Kidul Village have used purple sweet potatoes in their raw form (unprocessed), even during the main harvest some unsold purple sweet potatoes are distributed to the surrounding community free of charge. This happens because of limited information and knowledge in product development that can be produced from purple sweet potato raw materials, the community also does not understand the simple technology that can be applied to the purple sweet potato they have. The solution offered in this PKM is processing purple sweet potatoes into purple sweet potato cysts with the aim of increasing income, business independence, and reducing unemployment for the people of Pasir Kidul Village. The purple sweet potato cystic product is used as a solution to overcome partner problems for several reasons, namely: 1) both products have wider market potential, 2) higher selling prices, 3) consumers are not limited by age (from children to the elderly ), 4) has a very high nutritional value, 5) good for health. The proposed activity plan for PKM this is market research on the selling price of purple sweet potato cysts, making production designs, training on making purple sweet potato product processing into purple sweet potato cysts, program evaluation, and mentoring. The results of the PKM went smoothly, the openness of the management of the Subsidiaries of the Fatayat NU Purwokerto Barat Branch in conveying problems and discussions related to solutions to problems was obtained well. Currently, the management of the Sub-Branch Office of Fatayat NU, Purwokerto Barat, know how to collaborate with other parties to market and improve online marketing so that the purple sweet potato cysts are better known and there are many buyers.

Abstract

Semakin bertambahnya jumlah penduduk dan meningkatnya kebutuhan pangan, maka teknologi untuk meningkatkan hasil pertanian terus dikembangkan. Diantara teknologi yang ramah lingkungan untuk meningkatkan hasil pertanian adalah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi sonic bloom yaitu teknik menyuburkan pertumbuhan tanaman menggunakan gelombang suara frekuensi tinggi (3500–5000 Hertz) yang digabungkan dengan pemberian nutrisi melalui daun. Dari berbagai penelitian yang menggunakan paparan gelombang suara terhadap tanaman, sepanjang pengetahuan penulis belum ada yang menggunakan murotal Al-Qur’an dan music klasik pada tanaman kangkung yang ditanam dengan system hidroponik. Oleh karena itu penulis tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian dengan judul Pengaruh Suara Murottal Al-Qur’an dan Musik Klasik Terhadap Panjang Daun dan Berat Basah Kangkung Air (Ipomoea Aquatica) dengan Sistem Hidroponik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengetahui pengaruh suara murotal Al-Qur’an dan musik klasik terhadap panjang daun dan berat basah kangkung air yang ditanam dengan system hidroponik. (2) Mengetahui signifikansi suara murotal Al-Qur’an dan musik klasik terhadap panjang daun dan berat basah kangkung air yang ditanam dengan system hidroponik. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu (A) Suara Musik Klasik, (B) perlakuan kontrol tanpa suara, dan (C) suara murotal Al-Qur’an. Suara yang diberikan memiliki taraf intensitas bunyi sebesar 65,8-73,9 dB. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa : (1) Paparan suara murotal Al-Qur’an dan music klasik berpengaruh terhadap panjang daun dan berat basah kangkung air yang ditanam dengan system hidroponik (2) Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada panjang daun dan berat basah kangkung air dengan perlakuan pemberian suara murotal Al-Qur’an, musik klasik dan tanpa suara.
