Abstract

Fulvic acid is an extraction product of humus which is very potential for supplement fertilizer and able to reduce either inorganic or organic fertilizer application. The information about fulvic acid application as supplement fertilizer on ginger in Indonesia is still limited. The objective of the study was lo find oul the efect of fulvic acid as supplement fertilizer on the growth, productivity and quality of young ginger. A green house trial was conducted from July lo November 1996. Five levels of fulvic acid concentration, 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10% were sprayed every week from 4 to 1 5 weeks ater planting (WAP). A randomized block design was used with five replicates. The results indicated that the growth of plant height and number of tiller of ginger increased rapidly al 8 WAP, then il became slowly from 12 lo 1 5 WAP Application 10% of fulvic acid was able to increase vegetative parts 99.6%, fresh and dry weight of rhizome 89 and 125% respectively, and starch content of rhizome 22.6%. To find oul of the optimal effect of fulvic acid on productivity and quality of ginger, a further research using higher level and application frequency of fulvic acid as an extract product from several humus types in Indonesia is needed.

Abstract

Upaya meningkatkan produktivitas dan mendukung upaya budidaya menetap diperlukan suatu pola tanam dengan berbagai jenis tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pola tanam nilam yang tepat dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Cicurug sejak Mei sampai November 2011. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan petak terbagi dengan enam perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Petak utama adalah dua tingkat intensitas cahaya (naungan), yaitu tanpa naungan (intensitas cahaya 100%) dan di bawah tegakan pohon pala (intesitas cahaya sekitar 80%). Anak petak adalah tiga perlakuan pola tanam nilam yaitu nilam monokultur, nilam + jagung, nilam + kacang hijau. Ukuran petak setiap perlakuan 5 m x 6 m. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, jumlah daun, kadar minyak dan nilai PA serta nilai ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilam dapat dipola tanamkan diantara tanaman pala. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara intesitas cahaya dan pola tanam pada parameter tinggi tanaman nilam, jumlah cabang, kandungan minyak, kadar PA. Tinggi tanaman dan jumlah cabang tertinggi tanaman nilam ditunjukkan oleh intensitas cahaya 80% (94,77 cm dan 12,12 cabang) dan nilam monokultur (80,00 cm dan 13,25 cabang). Interaksi terjadi pada jumlah daun dan bobot segar terna yaitu tertinggi pada perlakuan nilam monokultur intensitas cahaya 100% yaitu 683 helai tanaman-1 dan 764,5 g tanaman-1. Kandungan minyak dan kadar PA semua perlakuan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nyata, kadar PA semua perlakuan lebih dari 31%. Pendapatan tertinggi pada pola tanam nilam monokultur yaitu sebesar Rp. 15.290.000,- per hektar. Untuk lokasi yang telah ditanam dengan tanaman pala akan memberikan nilai tambah yang cukup besar dari hasil nilam yaitu Rp. 7.159.900,- per hektar.

Abstract

Effect offertilizer and pruning on growth, nutrient status, and productivity of caricature plant (Graphtophyllum pictum (L) Grif.)Information on the effect of fertilizer and top cutting application on growth, nutient uptake, and productivity of caricatue plant (Graphtophyllum pictum (L) GrifT.) was limited. Increasing demand for that crop in the future as traditional medicine should be back up by applicable agronomical informations of caicature plant. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of fertilizer and pruning applications on growth, nutrient uptake, and productivity of caricature plant. The pot trial was conducted at the Research Institute for Spices and Medicinal Crops from August 1997 to January 1998. A randomized block design was arranged with two factors and 3 replications. Each treatment consisted of 5 plants. The irst factor consisted of three shoot cutting periods . (I) control; (2) 2 months ater planting (MAP) and (3) 4 MAP. The second factor was 6 fertilizer combinations: (1)-N, -P, -K, and manue (M); (2) -N, +P +K. and +M; (3) . +N, -P, +K, and +M; (4) +N, +P, -K, and +M; (5) +N, +P, +K, and -M; (6) +N, +P, +K, and +M, respectively. It was consideed that there were significant interaction between fertilizer and pruning applications, especially on the gowth and productivity of caricatue plant. Application of NPK and manue impoved plant productivity and nutrient status. Pruning treatments wee able to increase leaves fresh weight signiicantly. The highest productivity of caicatue plant was found at the combination teatment of pruning and N, K, Manue fertilizer applications. Theefore, the optimal growth and productivity could be achieved by early pruning and fertilizer application, especially manure.

Kandungan minyak dan kadar PA semua perlakuan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan nyata, kadar PA semua perlakuan lebih dari 31%. Pendapatan tertinggi pada pola tanam nilam monokultur yaitu sebesar Rp. 15.290.000,- per hektar. Untuk lokasi yang telah ditanam dengan tanaman pala akan memberikan nilai tambah yang cukup besar dari hasil nilam yaitu Rp. 7.159.900,- per hektar.
