Abstract

Pelilinan merupakan salah satu teknik penyimpanan dengan prinsip menutup sebagian (+ 50 %) pori-pori permukaan buah dan sayuran. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk memperpanjang umur simpan buah stroberi yang telah dipanen, dengan metode pelilinan pencelupan, pada suhu penyimpanan dan pelapisan lilin lebah dengan konsentrasi tertentu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia dan Laboratorium Pangan, Bagian Pascapanen, Balai Besar Pengembangan Teknologi Tepat Guna (B2P TTG) – Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) Subang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Experimental Method meliputi rancangan perlakuan, rancangan percobaan, rancangan analisis, dan rancangan respon. Rancangan perlakuan terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu konsentrasi lilin (A) terdiri dari tiga taraf : 0 %, 2 %, dan 4 %. Faktor kedua yaitu suhu penyimpanan (B) terdiri dari tiga taraf : 10˚C, 15˚C, dan 30˚C. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan yang dianalisis dengan uji F dan ujiDuncan. Respon yang diamati susut bobot, kadar air, laju respirasi, kekerasan buah, kadar vitamin C, dan mutu organoleptik (penampakan, tekstur, warna, dan rasa) pada buah stroberi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadinya interaksi antara konsentrasi lilin dan suhu penyimpanan yang berpengaruh terhadap kadar air, laju respirasi, kekerasan buah, dan kandungan vitamin C buah stroberi selama penyimpanan 10 hari, sedangkan terhadap susut bobot tidak terjadi interaksi. Faktor konsentrasi lilin dan suhu penyimpanan, masing-masing berpengaruh nyata terhadap susut bobot, kadar air, laju respirasi, kekerasan buah, dan kandungan vitamin C buah stroberi. Perlakuan yang dianjurkan untuk pelilinan buah stroberi adalah konsentrasi lilin 4 % dan suhu penyimpanan 10°C menghasilkan nilai rata-rata susut bobot sebesar 47,09 %, kadar air sebesar 78,20 %, laju respirasi sebesar 19,90 %, kekerasan buah sebesar 7,79 mm/det, vitamin C sebesar 184,13mg/100g, dan nilai rata-rata mutu organoleptik terhadap penampakan sebesar 3,9; tekstur 4,1; warna 4,0 dan rasa 3,1. Kata kunci : Fragaria nilgerrensis, L., Stroberi, Pelilinan, Konsentrasi lilin, Suhu penyimpanan

Abstract

Penguasaan teknologi pembibitan sangat penting dalam menunjang produksi buah manggis yangberkualitas. Tujuan kegiatan adalah memberikan informasi, kesadaran, motivasi untuk mengadopsiinovasi baru teknologi pembibitan tanaman manggis petani di Gapoktan ‘Arta Mukti’ Desa Puspahyang,sehingga petani dapat meningkatkan produksi buah manggis dan meningkatkan pendapatan petani.Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi serta demontrasiteknologi pembibitan tanaman manggis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat DesaPuspahyang, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya memberikan respon yang cukup baik tentang kegiatan penyuluhanpertanian mengenai teknologi pembibitan tanaman manggis. Selanjutnya dilakukan demonstrasipembuatan demontrasi plot percontohan. Para peserta berantusias untuk ikut berpartisipasi dalampembuatan plot percontohan tersebut dan akan mempraktekan proses teknologi pembibitan tanamanmanggis di kelompok tani masing-masing.Kata kunci: manggis, pembibitan, inovasi pembibitan manggis petani Puspahyang

Abstract

Data collection was conducted using focal animal instantaneous. The daily activity data were group based on their ethogram and was adopting "The Standard of Orangutan's collection" from Morrogh-Bernard et al. (2002). The research collected 739 hours 29 minutes of dawn to dusk observations. The daily activity was determined by activity proportion. Rehabilitated Orangutans was found to have higher proportion of social activity (79,29%) than the one of self-action activity (23,71%). The daily activity proportions consisted of 10,44% (females) and 14,13% (males) for movement, 29,01% (females) and 30,66% (males) for resting, 12,34% (females) and 4,90% (males) for social activities, 3,36% (females) and 2,49% (males) for self activities, and also 44,85% (females) and 47,82% (males) for foraging with 96 plants species and 1 termite species as food sources.

Abstract

Imbalance of economic development between city to cities in Indonesia creates unequal economic development especially in human migration.This research attempts to find out the factor that influence of human migration among cities. The commuter theory behind the research has being used as the based point to evaluate the significant level of influencing factors. Population on the research is the community of Negara Sub-district of Jembrana Regency Denpasar Bali. Cluster random sampling was used to develop profile of respondents both commuter and non-commuter residence. Logistic Regression Analysis. Some variables, such as age, income, education, and marital status to the circular migration interest are employed. The result of logistic regression model of analysis confirmed that the variable of age, income, education, and marital status has affected significantly to the circular migration interest of the residents in Negara Sub-district of Jembrana Regency. Overall logistic regression model used in this research could confirm the factors affecting the respondents’ interest to perform circular migration. It showed thatthe respondents’ behavior in this research was likely to have an interest of migration due to their desire to improve their family quality of life.

Abstract

Laboratory of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery, Department of Industrial Engineering and ManagementAgricultural has designed a tomato grading machine TEP-5 to accelerate post-harvest handling of tomatoes. TheMachine design need to be evaluated to determine it’s performance and quality of tomato grading results. Theresearch method is descriptive analysis. Based on test results, tomato grading machine TEP-5 had an actualcapacity of 4246 Tomato with the engine efficiency of 60,48% and. Engine noise no with and without load was68,3dB and 69,8 dB respectively. Engine vibration generated during no-load test was 2.09 m/s 2 and 2.02 m/s 2with load test. Engine power with and without load respectively 265,8 and 254,8 watt. Tomato quality results frommachine was grading significantly diferrent as compared with the one graded manually. The level of tomatodemage result from grading machine storage at room temperature and cool temperature (<10 o )respectively6.42% and 5.61%. These values were lower as compared to the manual grading. The bruised area of tomatogradeded mechanicaly was 30,19% than that of tomato graded manually. Tomato color was the range of yellowand no difference was observed between manual and mechanical grading.Keyword: grading machine, test performance, self life.
