Abstract

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Tourism in Tanjung Lesung is a distinct advantage because it can provide promising business development potential. However, this potential is less than optimal due to the condition of village officials to develop tourist villages in the vicinity, or SEZ supporting areas, namely Tanjung Jaya Village, not running optimally. This research uses a qualitative method by conducting a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Tanjung Jaya Village Head, Panimbang District Secretary, the POKDARWIS Chair, and several other village officials who can make the supporting area better. The results obtained based on the FGD are by developing Human Resources (HR) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and making the people of Tanjung Jaya Village aware of the need for tourism in the SEZ supporting area. The other result was a lack of training for staff or owners of MSMEs. The program that will be provided in the future is HR training on soft skills to POKDARWIS members, Tourism Village Managers, and Banten West Java (BWJ) as a Company Social Responsibility (CSR) program. So that later the POKDARWIS, Tourism Village Managers can provide input or explanations and retrain the people of Tanjung Jaya Village.

Participatory observation and in-depth interviews were utilized as components of a qualitative data collecting approach for the purpose of gathering the aforementioned information. The research team conducted interviews with the chief of Kutu Wetan Village, members of the surrounding communities, and officials from the regional administration. In addition, researchers participate in cultural events in Ponorogo, such as the Reog Ponorogo Festival, in order to gauge the community's level of interest in maintaining its cultural tourism and preserve its traditions. The findings demonstrated that cultural tourism plays an important role among the many goods and services offered by the tourist industry. On the other hand, there is still a need to improve support from both the government and the community through promoting involvement in the development of tourist initiatives. The growing sense of pride that local people have in their culture can have an effect on the competitive advantage that sustainable tourism enjoys.

Abstract

The study focuses on Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Papandayan, a natural tourist destination situated in Garut Regency, West Java. Its objective is to assess and pinpoint areas for improvement within the framework of the 3A's concept, encompassing Attraction, Accessibility, and Amenities. Employing a descriptive qualitative research methodology, the research population consisted of both visitors and an employee from Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Papandayan, totaling 4 visitors and 1 employee. Data collection involved observations, interviews, and documentation, addressing specific research questions. The study utilized Importance-Performance Analysis to derive its findings. The results indicate three key areas requiring enhancement: nature conservation, provision of trash cans, and places of worship. Notably, the findings highlight deficiencies in natural preservation efforts, insufficient trash cans with a lack of organic and non-organic waste bins, and a limited number of places of worship. The originality and value of this study lie in its identification of crucial factors for improvement within Mount Papandayan Nature Park, guided by the comprehensive 3A's framework (attractions, accessibility, and amenities).
