Abstract

Abstract. As the only Bus Rapid Transportation (BRT) system public transportation in Jakarta, Indonesia, travel experience factors were important factor to enhance travel satisfaction and loyalty among passengers. However, travel experience is still rare to be tested among public transportation especially for BRT System Company. This study aims to test the travel experience factors (EF’s factors) such as individual space, information provision, staff’s skills, social environment, vehicle maintenance, off-board service, ticket line service, safety, and waiting time on travel satisfaction and customer loyalty. To test the hypotheses, this study employs Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square with SmartPLS Version 3.0 among 294 passengers. The results shows that individual space, staff’s skills, vehicle maintenance, ticket line service are positively effect on travel satisfaction, then the travel satisfaction has positive influence on customer loyalty. Hence, social environment, off-board service, safety and waiting time have no influence on travel experience. The current findings suggest the government, and management of BRT to maintain the vehicle condition, improve the ticketing service use online system, recruit higher quality drivers, adding more staffs on-board, manage the schedule of buses, and adapt modern system of location. The society must also be educated to create conducive conditions during the travel trip. Keywords:  BRT System Company; Customer loyalty, Partial Least Square, travel satisfaction, travel experience

Abstract

Peer-to-peer or digital multi-sided platform (MSP) startups have created disruptions in various industries in the past few years. In this matter, the crowds within the platform ecosystem have significant contribution for digital MSP startups’ growth. However, there are limited studies that examine the crowd-based resource and capabilities as the source of radical innovation performance since it still conducts the perspective of linear product-market supply and demand. By using network theory, this research proposal wants to examine the role of network effects toward the development of the radical innovation. The findings of PLS-SEM analysis with 70 respondents from digital MSP startups show that crowds-based resources and capabilities manifested by integrative capabilities can generate radical innovation performance through decent network effect that enables to produce high incremental innovation performance beforehand. It shows the importance interaction between digital MSP startups with the crowds for innovation purposes. Hence, the findings contribute in open innovation literatures especially in finding the contributing factors to generate radical innovation

Abstract

The Cynefin model (Kurtz & Snowden, 2003) is a common concept for designing the most logical response from decision-makers in certain situations. This model is general, so it can be used in several applications, such as knowledge transfer, which is the focus of this article. The author aims to describe in detail, both the characteristics of the domain and the decision-making model, with the concept of causal ambiguity (Reed & Defillippi, 1990), absorptive capacity (Zahra & George, 2002), and pragmatic view of knowledge (Carlile, 2004). One of the managers' common mistakes in managing organizational knowledge is the failure to identify situations accurately. Using the case study method, the results of this study are expected to help practitioners minimize these mistakes and determine the right decisions in forming a sustainable competitive advantage (SCA). The discussion of this paper is divided into several sections; dynamics of cynefin model, absorptive capacity, pragmatic view of knowledge, integration of concepts, and conclusions.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and obtain information about the effectiveness of the implementation of online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic at Higher Education Institutions, especially President University. Data was collected by looking at the results of student satisfaction assessments of lecturers during the teaching and learning process, namely in the PUIS (President University Information System) system in the "Lecturing Evaluation" menu. The research used quantitative methods and data analysis used SPSS version 21 software. After the data were analyzed, the researchers conducted online interviews with 12 (twelve) lecturers. The results of this study are that there is a significant difference in satisfaction between offline and online lectures, namely, when offline class students can get knowledge directly without any technical constraints and face-to-face teaching and learning process there are values that can be taken such as the process of social, cultural, ethical maturity. and morals that can only be found in the area of education. In contrast to online lectures, apart from technical problems such as the unsupported internet, online classes also make students lose motivation to study because no chemistry can be built. There are different characteristics in each faculty, this is a challenge for lecturers to explore their abilities and provide new knowledge, and of course, it can be well accepted by students. Online classes will run more effectively if both lecturers and students live it with a sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Games, especially digital online games in both PC and mobile phones are in its peak of developing and growing. Along with that, the number of gamers significantly increasedfrom every range of age for both men and women. In 2017, the number of gamers in Indonesia are 43.7million people, which increased to 52 million people in 2019.  Contradicting the growth of gamers, Indonesians’ intention to save is low compared to other countries in ASEAN. Considering this phenomena, this paper aims to investigate the factors that affects saving behaviour of online gamers in Indonesia, especially in Greater Jakarta. This is a quantitative research using primary data from 218 respondents.  The respondents are selected using non-probability sampling that are purposive sampling and snowball sampling.  The data were gathered using questionnaire, whuch consists of demographic variables and  41 statements as variable measurementsdistributed to online gamers in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia.  The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). A research found that financial literacy significantly influences both financial attitude and saving behaviour of online gamers in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia.   The financial attitude also significantly influences their saving behaviour.  Meanwhile, family influence and peer influence do not significantly influence their saving behaviour.  Authors believe that this is the first research in Indonesia using this framework with online gamers as its object of research.

Abstract

Research Aims - The study aim is to explore value proposition creation from the perspectives of non-bus transportation services and to investigate the factors in customer perceived value, especially functional value (operations, facilities, professionalism, and price), that influence purchase intention from customers’ perspectives. Design/methodology/approach - This mixed methods study used personal interviews, participant observation, and a survey to collect the data. Then, we conducted exploratory case study by using organisational level logic model as a qualitative analysis technique. Finally, we used regression for hypothesis testing of the quantitative section. Research Findings - The results indicated that non-bus transportation services should give extra efforts to build great value propositions to meet customer needs. The interview and participant observation results on non-bus transportation service providers’ perspectives showed that that two providers studied have different strategies to create strong value propositions. The survey results on customers’ perspectives showed that all aspects of functional value (operations, facilities, professionalism, and price) significantly influence purchase intention. Thus, those two perspectives do not completely align. Theoretical Contribution/Originality - The integrated framework of customer value proposition created by firms and customer perceived value, which was empirically tested in this study, showed that superior value proposition can be achieved where there is a feedback loop between these two perspectives. Managerial Implications in the Southeast Asian context - Managers have to consider not only the individual aspects of price competitiveness and comfort of services as value propositions but also the integration of facilities and professionalism to build perceived value through value propositions in intercity non-bus transportation services in Southeast Asian contexts. Research limitations and implications - This study had only two variables (functional value and purchase intentions). Functional value had four sub-variables (operations, facilities, professionalism, and price) as independent variables. Other variables could influence purchase intention for non-bus transportation service providers.
