Abstract

COVID-19 has become a frightening pandemic and has spread throughout theworld with an unprecedentedly high death rate. Community compliance withgovernment appeals must be accompanied by knowledge, attitudes, and practicesin dealing with this epidemic. This study aims to investigate the Knowledge,Attitude, and Practice of Kolaka residents against the COVID-19 outbreak. Thisresearch is descriptive-analytic with a Cross-Sectional approach. The sample usedin this study were 1,010 respondents aged 17 to 65 years, having gmail and y-mail accounts, mastering the internet became the criteria for respondentinclusion in this study. The questionnaire used was the adoption of previousstudies and modified according to conditions. Data were analyzed bivariate usingthe Chi-Square test with standard p-value<0.05. The results obtained showed thatthe Kolaka community had good knowledge (49.6%), a confident attitude ofcontrolling the plague (70.4%), and had a high level of vigilance (79.6%) towardsCOVID-19. There is a relationship between knowledge with practice p-value=0.000, while attitude has no relationship with practice with p-value=0.862.The massive dissemination of information through existing media has greatlyhelped the community increase their knowledge of COVID-19, which will furthersupport the formation of a confident attitude to control this disease and increasevigilance in their daily life practices during this pandemic.

Abstract

The nutritional problem in toddlers today is stunting which can be prevented by various actions that can be taken by health workers. Objectives: To described the role of health workers in all puskesmas in Kolaka Regency in an effort to prevent stunting.Methods: The design of this study was a descriptive survey by providing closed and open question questionnaires. The population was all health workers serving under-five nutrition spread across 14 health centers in Kolaka Regency. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling so that the number of samples was 30. Results: This study showed that 66.7% of health workers had not attended training, 60% were planning to innovate, but only 33.3% are innovating, and 93.3% are cooperating. The innovations that have been made include forming a nutrition-aware family team and a nutrition-smart mother class, while the obstacles experienced are the lack of public knowledge about stunting, the difficulty of changing people's behavior about the importance of nutrition, the lack of accurate tools in measuring children under five, and the lack of health workers who provide services. Conclusion: The role of health workers in preventing stunting in Kolaka Regency is quite good if it is supported by stunting prevention training and supporting tools so it is recommended that adequate training and tools are needed to prevent stunting.Keywords:  health workers, toddler nutrition, stunting

Abstract

ABSTRAK Merokok merupakan salah satu perilaku yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Perilaku merokok ditemukan pada berbagai tingkat usia termasuk diantaranya kelompok usia remaja. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan edukasi kepada remaja terkait dampak rokok terhadap kesehatan. Edukasi dilaksanakan di sekolah setingkat SMP san SMA di Kabupaten kolaka yang diikuti oleh 122 siswa. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November sampai Desember 2020 yang dibagi dalam 5 kali kegiatan. Para siswa secara antusias mengikuti semua rangkaian kegiatan edukasi dengan baik dan pada sesi diskusi terdapat 4 orang siswa yang mengajukan pertanyaan terkait dengan materi yang disampaikan. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan baik karena didukung oleh kepala sekolah dan pihak puskesmas Kolaka. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dilaksanakan setiap semester di sekolah untuk mengurangi jumlah siswa yang merokok. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, dampak rokok  ABSTRACT Smoking is a behavior that can cause various diseases. Smoking behavior is found at various age levels including the adolescent age group. This service activity aims to educate adolescents regarding the impact of smoking on health. The education was carried out in schools at the level of SMP and SMA in Kolaka Regency which was attended by 122 students. This activity was carried out from November to December 2020 which was divided into 5 activities. The students enthusiastically participated in all series of educational activities well and in the discussion session, there were 4 students who asked questions related to the material presented. This activity went well because it was supported by the principal and the Kolaka puskesmas. This activity is expected to be carried out every semester in schools to reduce the number of students who smoke. Keywords: Education, the impact of smoking
