Abstract

Rosella is known to have many health benefits, such as boosting the immune system and regulating blood pressure. Based on a situation analysis, the lack of knowledge among students regarding the rosella plant is due to the absence of rosella plants in the school area. Additionally, there has never been a workshop at SDN Tlogosari Wetan 02 Semarang related to educating students about the use of rosella flower petals as a health tea by any party. The community service activity began with an introduction to the rosella plant to the students, followed by education on the use of herbal plants that contain antioxidants, in this case, the rosella flower. After that, the activity continued with training that involved the students in the process of making rosella tea. The results of this activity showed an increase in the students' knowledge about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the students' skills in utilizing natural materials (rosella flower petals) to make health tea.

Abstract

Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) remain a serious threat to the health and cognitive development of adolescents. This community service activity aims to improve nutritional health literacy and practical skills among students of MA Asshodiqiyah Semarang in detecting iodine content in salt. The implementation method included interactive education, evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests, and hands-on practice of simple iodine testing. The program was conducted in December 2025 and involved 15 tenth-grade students at MA Asshodiqiyah. The results showed a significant increase in student understanding, with average knowledge scores rising from 58 (pre-intervention) to 86 (post-intervention). The skills evaluation further revealed that 85% of students were able to perform iodine testing independently and correctly. The combination of theoretical education and direct practice proved effective in raising students' critical awareness of the quality of salt they consume. This activity is expected to serve as a sustainable preventive strategy to combat IDD within school and pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environments.

Abstract

Students' health and physical fitness serve as essential foundations for achieving optimal learning outcomes. Nevertheless, many adolescents, particularly those enrolled in Islamic senior high schools (Madrasah Aliyah), have not yet established healthy hydration habits or sufficient intake of natural antioxidants. Inadequate fluid consumption and exposure to free radicals may adversely affect concentration, immune function, and long-term health status. This community service initiative aimed to enhance students' knowledge and skills regarding the importance of proper hydration and the role of antioxidants, as well as to promote healthy lifestyle practices through the preparation of infused water. The program was conducted in December 2025 and involved 21 eleventh-grade students at MA Asshodiqiyah. The methods employed included interactive educational sessions and hands-on practice in preparing infused water. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre-test and post-test design with multiple-choice assessment instruments. The findings revealed an 80% increase in the average knowledge scores following the intervention, and all participants (100%) were able to independently prepare infused water. This initiative not only improved students' cognitive understanding but also developed practical skills that may contribute to sustainable behavioral changes toward healthy hydration habits and natural antioxidant consumption both at school and at home.
