Abstract

The pests that attack each plant phase also varies. The aimed of this study was to compare the main population of rice insect pests and ratooned in lowland rice field in the vegetative, flowering and milk ripening phase. The main bioinsecticide rice sprayed on rice canopy were comes from the entomopathogenic fungal conidia Metarhizium anisopliae, the entomopathogenic bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis, and as a control area without the application of bioinsecticide or synthetic insecticide. The results showed that population of fake white pests (Cnaphalocrosis medinalis) and white leafhoppers pest (Covana spectra) were more prevalent in vegetative phase rice compared to other types of pests such as green leafhoppers (Nephotettix spp.), Brown leafhoppers (Nilaparvata lugens), zig zag leafhoppers. (Recillia dorsalis), white-back leafhoppers (Sogatella furcifera), grasshoppers, mole cricket (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa), and yellow rice stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas). The Leptocorisa acuta and green ladybugs (Nezara viridula) began to attack the flowering and milk ripening phase, which was when the rice was aged about 54-68 days after transplanting (dat). Whereas in ratooned rice, the pest population of L. acuta has appeared on the first observation on rice aged 9 days after harvest (dah) until the ratooned rice was aged 58 days after harvesting. The population of pests was higher in land without bioinsecticide application compared to land applied of bioinsecticides. In ratooned rice, the pest population between the land applied with bioinsecticide M. anisopliae and B. thuringiensis was not significantly different from the land applied by B. thuringiensis which was sold in the market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of product packaging and product innovation on purchasing decisions for water-based ink in the flexible packaging industry at PT Samudera Warna Internasional. The research is motivated by the gap between the high market potential for eco-friendly inks and the company's fluctuating sales realization. This quantitative study utilizes an explanatory research method. The sample consisted of 60 active consumer companies drawn from a population of 150 companies (January–March 2026 period) using a simple random sampling technique (10% margin of error). Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The data analysis included instrument feasibility tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing (t-test and F-test). The results prove that, both partially and simultaneously, product packaging and product innovation have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Specific findings indicate that product packaging has a more dominant influence than product innovation. In conclusion, consumer purchasing decisions heavily depend on the quality of visual communication through packaging and the adaptability of product innovation. Therefore, the company is advised to continuously improve packaging design to be more informative and consistently conduct Research and Development (R&D). This research provides a theoretical contribution to marketing management literature regarding consumer behavior toward eco-friendly industrial products.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and the growing use of social media, particularly TikTok, create new phenomena in consumer behavior. One of the most notable phenomena is the rising trend of Pop Mart blind box products, driven by user-generated content (UGC) and fear of missing out (FOMO). However, not all exposure to these two factors automatically translates into purchase intention. Some consumers engage with such content merely for entertainment purposes, while the emotional impulse triggered by the scarcity of Pop Mart products may be temporary in nature. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of UGC and FOMO on purchase intention toward Pop Mart blind box products among Generation Z in Malang City. This study employed a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 Generation Z consumers in Malang City, aged 16–30 years, who had been exposed to Pop Mart blind box content on TikTok. The respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, and hypothesis testing with t- and F-tests, with assistance from SPSS. The findings revealed that user-generated content (UGC) had a positive and significant partial effect on purchase intention toward Pop Mart blind box products among Generation Z in Malang City, as indicated by a t-value of 5.841 and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Similarly, fear of missing out (FOMO) also had a positive and significant partial effect on purchase intention, with a t-value of 7.380 and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Furthermore, the simultaneous test showed that UGC and FOMO jointly had a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, as evidenced by an F-value of 62.918, which exceeded the F-table value of 3.09, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) indicated that UGC and FOMO explained 55.6% of the variance in purchase intention, while the remaining 44.4% was influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that UGC and FOMO significantly influence purchase intention toward Pop Mart blind box products among Generation Z in Malang City. The combination of these factors has proven effective in shaping consumers' purchase intention. These findings highlight the importance of authentic social media content and psychological factors in influencing consumer behavior in the digital era.

The growth of live-streaming commerce has encouraged companies to leverage social media as a more interactive marketing strategy. As a luxury brand, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beauty Indonesia has begun using TikTok Live as a marketing platform with the potential to influence brand perception, customer engagement, and consumer purchase intention. This study aims to analyze the influence of brand perception and customer engagement on purchase intention in YSLBeauty Indonesia’s live-streaming commerce. This study was a quantitative study using an explanatory research approach. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with SPSS 25. The results indicated that brand perception had a positive effect on purchase intention (p = 0,003 < 0,05), while customer engagement also had a positive effect (p = 0,003 < 0,05). Simultaneously, both variables had a positive effect on purchase intention, with an F-calculated value of 59.357 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.550. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that brand perception and customer engagement have a positive effect both individually and collectively on purchase intention in YSL Beauty Indonesia’s live-streaming commerce. Customer engagement has a greater influence than brand perception, therefore, it needs to be continuously optimized through engaging interactions during live streams.
