Abstract

The evaluation of digested protein and total digestible nutrient  in rations containing melinjo peels could be done using several prediction models, but testing was needed to determine the level of accuracy. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the prediction formula for protein digestibility and total digestible nutrient from rations containing melinjo peels of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Sixteen local ewes aged 11-12 monts with an initial body weight of 22.56 ± 1.46 kg were used to evaluate the value of digested protein and total digestible nutrient. The observational data were used to calculate the ratio of prediction to deviation value in assessing the accuracy of various prediction models for digested protein, namely Wardeh (1981) and Knight's and Harris (1966) models, while total digestible nutrient, namely Sutardi (2001), Wardeh (1981), and Harris et al. (1972) models. Wardeh (1981) and Knight and Harris’s (1966) digestible protein model, yielded ratio of prediction to deviation values of 3.28 and 3.37, respectively. Meanwhile, the ratio of prediction to deviation value on total digestible nutrient respectively from the highest value was Sutardi (2001), Wardeh (1981), and Harris et al. (1972) of 4.57, 3.68 and 1.91. In conclusion, Knight and Harris's (1966) digestible protein and Sutardi's (2001) total digestible nutrient model were the most accurate.

Abstract

Jerami padi memiliki potensi sebagai pakan ruminansia, namun terkendala dengan kehadiran ligin yang menghambat kecernaan. Pengolahan dengan filtrat abu sekam padi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas jerami padi. Penyuluhan telah dilaksanakan kepada peternak sapi potong untuk memberikan pengetahuan tentang pengolahan jerami padi dengan filtrat abu sekam padi. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyampaian langsung materi pelatihan kepada peternak melalui media zoom meeting yang diakhiri dengan sesi tanya jawab.  Sebanyak 59 peserta telah hadir dan aktiv mengikutinya sampai kegiatan berakhir serta sebagian peserta bertanya langsung. Hasil pretest dan postest menunjukan bahwa terjadi perubahan pengetahuan yang lebih baik pada peserta setelah dilakukan penyuluhan. Kesimpulan, Penyuluhan efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak terkait pengolahan limbah pertanian (Jerami padi) dengan filtrat abu sekam padi.

Abstract

The aim of research is to find out the influence of probiotic utilization in the ration on dry metter intake, average daily gain (ADG), carcas percentage and economical value. The research was done in 90 days. Probiotic that used in this research is Yea-sacc®1026, commercial product from PT. Alltech. Yea-sacc®1026 contains Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain 1026 and its growth medium. There are two kinds of ration formula (formula I and II).  One of each ration was given yeasacc®1026  1kg/1000 kg, and the other was not given, so  there are 4 ration treatments. This research used Brahman Cross breed (steer and heifer). Each treatment used 30 heads of beef cattle, so there are 120 heads of beef cattle.  The size of paddock 10 x 10m.  This research used randomized completely design with 30 replications. The datta were  analyzed by The SAS System for Windows 6.12. and then Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result of the research indicated that the formulation ( I and II) and  Yea-sacc®1026 used had no effect to dry metter intake, average daily gain (ADG), carcas percentage and economical value.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Sapi perah yang berproduksi tinggi membutuhkan ransum berenergi tinggi dan asam lemak esensial. Penambahan lemak dalam ransum dapat mengatasi kekurangan energi dan asam lemak esensial. Permasalahan umum dari pemberian lemak atau minyak pada dosis tertentu dapat mengganggu ekosistem rumen, sehingga dalam pemberiannya perlu diproteksi. Ruminer adalah suplemen komersial berupa minyak sawit yang diproteksi mineral kalsium. Penelitian ditujukan untuk mengetahui penambahan ruminer dalam ransum lengkap terhadap produksi susu 4% FCM dan produksi nutrien susu sapi perah. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental terhadap 10 ekor sapi perah Friesian Holstein pada masa laktasi sama. Sapi tersebut dibagi dua, masing-masing lima ekor. Perlakuan berupa ransum tanpa ditambah ruminer (P0) dan ransum ditambah 250 gram ruminer.ekor-1.hari-1 (P1). Peubah yang diamati adalah produksi susu 4% FCM diukur setiap hari selama 60 hari dan kualitas susu diukur setiap 10 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi susu 4% FCM, produksi total padatan, lemak, protein dan laktosa susu pada sapi diberi ruminer lebih tinggi (P0,05) daripada sapi yang tidak diberi ruminer. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ruminer meningkatkan produksi susu 4% FCM, total padatan, lemak, protein dan laktosa susu. Pemberian ruminer sebanyak 250 gram.ekor-1hari-1 mampu meningkatkan 2 kg produksi susu 4% FCM pada sapi perah laktasi.(Effects of ruminer addition in dairy cattle rations on milk 4% FCM and nutrient production) ABSTRAK. High-yielding dairy cows require high-energy rations and essential fatty acids. The addition of fat in the ration can overcome the lack of energy and essential fatty acids. The general problem of giving fat or oil at certain doses can disrupt the rumen ecosystem, so that it needs to be protected. Ruminer is a commercial supplement in the form of calcium mineral protected palm oil. This research was aimed to determine the addition of ruminants in complete rations on the production of 4% FCM milk and the nutrient production of dairy cow milk. The research was carried out experimentally on 10 dairy cows during the same lactation period. The cow is divided into two, five each. The treatments were rations without adding ruminer (P0) and rations added by 250 grams of ruminer. head-1 day-1 (P1). The variables observed were 4% FCM milk production measured every day for 60 days and milk quality was measured every 10 days. The results showed that the production of 4% FCM milk, the total production of solids, fat, protein and milk lactose in cows fed with ruminer was higher (P 0.05) than cows that were not given ruminer. It was concluded that the provision of ruminer increased milk production by 4% FCM, total solids, fat, protein and milk lactose. Giving a ruminer of 250 grams of head-1.day-1 was able to increase 2 kg of 4% FCM milk production in lactating dairy cows.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Perhitungan total digestible nutrients (TDN) dan Protein tercerna secara biologis seringkali mengalami kesulitan sehingga dilakukan perhitungan dengan menggunakan model pendugaan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk membandingkan model pendugaan TDN dan protein tercerna pada domba Garut jantan yang diberi ransum berbahan baku pakan lokal. Dua puluh empat ekor domba Garut diberi ransum berbasis bahan pakan lokal dengan kandungan TDN dan protein berbeda, lalu diukur nilai TDN dan protein tercerna. Nilai keakuratan model pendugaan TDN dan protein tercerna diukur dengan perhitungan ratio prediction to deviation (RPD), Hubungan TDN dan protein tercerna in vivo dengan berbagai model pendugaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi. Model pendugaan yang digunakan untuk mengukur TDN adalah model Sutardi, Wardeh dan Harris et al., sedangkan model pendugaan protein tercerna menggunakan model Beenson dan Knight dan Haris. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model pendugaan TDN Wardeh lebih akurat dibandingan dengan model Sutardi maupun Beenson dengan nilai ratio prediction to deviation (RDP) = 2,45, R2 = 08629 dan r = 0,9289. Model pendugaan protein tercerna Beenson dan Knight dan Haris tidak dapat digunakan karena memiliki nilai RDP yang sangat rendah. Kesimpulannya model pendugaan Wardeh lebih akurat dalam mengukur TDN pada domba Garut jantan.(Comparison of the total digestible nutrients (TDN) and digestible proteins models in male Garut sheep fed local feed-based rations)ABSTRACT. Calculation of total digestible nutrients (TDN) and digested proteins biologically are often difficult, so calculations are made using the estimation model. The study aimed to compare the estimation model of TDN and digestible proteins in male Garut sheep fed local feed-based rations. Twenty-four of male Garut sheep were given various types of rations based on local feed ingredients with different TDN and protein content, then measured the value of TDN and digested protein. Then the accuracy of the TDN and digested protein estimation model was measured by calculating the ratio of prediction to deviation (RPD), while measuring the relationship of TDN and digested proteins In Vivo with various estimation models was carried out using regression analysis. The estimation model used to measure TDN was the Sutardi, Wardeh and Harris et al. models, while the digested protein estimation model is using Beenson and Knight and Haris models. The results show that the Wardeh TDN estimation model is more accurate compared to the Sutardi and Beenson models with the RDP = 2.45, R2 = 0.8629 and r = 0.9289. Beenson and Knight and Haris digestible protein estimation model cannot be used because it has a very low RDP value. The conclusion is Wardeh estimation model is more accurate in measuring TDN in male Garut sheep.
