Abstract

Curriculum 2013 mandates that learners should be able to understand mathematical concepts well, making it easier for learners to solve the problems of mathematics. However, there are still many students who are not able to understand mathematical concepts well, including the concept of integer arithmetic operations. This is because students think math as a complicated subject, so make the most of students do not like math. Therefore, teachers should be able to create learning that presents a fun and challenging atmosphere that make learners more excited. This study aims to determine the understanding of the concept of integer arithmetic operations of learners after participating in Brain-Based Learning. This type of research is experimental research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. This research was conducted in one of the Year 7 classes in the SMPIT Al-Azhar Banda Aceh. The results showed that the understanding of the concept of learners after participating in Brain-Based Learning (BBL) categorized as good, as seen from the values obtained by the four students were selected as subjects in this study. Learners who initially operate regardless of the sign of the times and to come to understand that multiplication and division should be done first. Likewise, with learners who initially was mistaken in operating the positive and negative integers, once implemented, BBL has been able to do it right and achieve some indicators of understanding of the concept.

Abstract

Realistic approach is a learning approach that examines topics / concepts of mathematics through contextual problems. The goal is to create a memorable and meaningful learning through experience. This mathematical experience gained from the experience of mathematics. The experience can be obtained from the culture. Etnomatematika is a form of mathematics were influenced or based on the culture that exists in the community, either in the form of religion, artifacts and customs. One etnomatematika that develops in the people of Aceh and close to the students is about science faraidh (the division of the estate). Faraidh etnomatematika utilization of science is in accordance with the purpose of education in Aceh that are nuanced Islamic education as an area that bersyariat Islam. However, etnomatematika-based learning tools that are not available, so it needs to be an effort to help teachers to develop devices based learning etnomatematika. This study aims to determine the process and outcome-based learning software development etnomatematika valid, practical, and effective. The development method used for unmet valid, practical and effective is the method Plomp, which includes the initial assessment phase, the design / prototyping, and assessment. The subjects were a group of junior high school students in grade VIID Al-Fityan IT as a subject limited test and one class graders from junior IT VIIB Al-Fityan Aceh Besar as subjects to test the practicalities and effectiveness of the learning. The results of this study obtained etnomatematika based learning tools that meet the criteria for a valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Certification is the process of granting certificates to the teacher to determine the feasibility of a teacher in carrying out her/his duties as agents of school learning.  A certificate is provided to educators who have met the requirements of teacher competency test. The results for the West Aceh district showed that it had not reached the standards set by the government. These results did not demonstrate the competence of teachers for each competency. The purpose of this study was to determine the pedagogic competence and professional competence of teachers of mathematics in junior high school Johan Pahlawan sub-district of West Aceh district. Subjects in this study were 11 middle school mathematics teacher at the First State District of Johan Pahalwan West Aceh district. Data were collected through observation and tests. Data were analyzed qualitatively based on indicators of teachers' pedagogical competence and professional competence. The survey results revealed that the pedagogical competence of teachers in preparing lesson plans, implementation of learning and testing were good. Two out of 11 teachers studied had excellent pedagogical competence. In contrast, ten other teachers are still in the category of good, but the test many teachers did not answer the true with an average of fifteen questions that the answer is correct. Professional competence of teachers is still many teachers who are not able to provide answers to the questions given. However, 11 teachers were able to answer very satisfying to items (2), (3), (5), (10) and (11). As for the other as a matter of no one only four teachers who were able to answer correctly, then to question number 10 only three teachers who answered correctly but for a matter that only eight teachers who answered correctly.

Abstract

The results of students' mathematics learning are still not optimally. Low learning outcomes due to learning that implemented by teacher not yet accommodate aspects of students  intelligence’s. Teachers only focus on the logical mathematical and language intelligences. Whereas every student has another kind of intelligences with different capacities are referred as Multiple Intelligences. Multiple Intelligences should be utilized in the learning process so that students engage actively trying to achieve learning objectives so as to optimize student achievement. Therefore, teachers need to be familiarized implementing of oriented Multiple Intelligences learning. The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation of Multiple Intelligences oriented learning that teachers on the of Linear Equations and Inequalities One Variable. The study also aimed to describes the activities of students during the implementation of Multiple Intelligences oriented learning on Linear Equations and Inequalities One Variable. The study included a math teacher and 24 students of class VII in SMP Negeri 16 Banda Aceh. The implementation data of learning and student activities gathered through observation. The results showed that the enforceability of Multiple Intelligences oriented learning conducted by the teacher in Equality and Linear Inequality One Variable for the first meeting is (84.2%), the third meeting is (89.47%) and the fourth meeting is (89.47%), which include on very high criteria, while the second meeting is (57.84%), include on sufficient criteria. So on the student's activity during the mathematics Multiple Intelligences oriented learning in Equality and Linear Inequality One Variable for the first meeting is (68.4%), and second is (57.89%), which includes the fairly criteria. While the third and the fourth meetings obtained respectively (89.47%), including very high criteria. The implications of this study i.e. teachers need to understand the nature of Multiple Intelligences which is an important aspect to help enable students in an effort to achieve learning objectives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh gadget terhadap perilaku remaja dalam keluarga di Desa Lamdom. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Subjek berjumlah 10 orang terdiri dari 5 remaja sebagai subjek utama dan 5 orang tua (ayah atau ibu) yang merupakan subjek  pendukung. Penentuan subjek dilakukan secara purposive samling dengan kriteria: keluarga yang berdomisili di Desa Lamdom, memiliki anak remaja usia 10-18 tahun, memiliki gadget yang digunakan terus menerus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa remaja di Desa Lamdom telah menggunakan gadget selama 5-7 jam atau 300-420 menit dalam sehari, yang mengakibatkan remaja tersebut sudah mengalami kecanduan tergadap gadget. Penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan memberi dampak negatif bagi perilaku remaja dalam keluarga, seperti ketidakstabilan emosional yang mengakibatkan remaja mudah marah, emosi, gelisah, dan bahkan menggurung diri akibat dijauhkan dari gadget. Namun pengaruh tersebut tidak berakibat pada terjadinya kenakalan remaja yang dapat menyebabkan remaja melakukan perilaku menyimpang dan membutuhkan penanganan yang khusus. Oleh karena itu mengharuskan orang tua agar selalu mengawasi penggunaan gadget pada remaja, membatasi penggunaanya dan dapat mengatasi perubahan sikap dan perilaku yang terjadi pada remaja.
