Abstract

The objective of the present study was to determine the optimum dosage of onion extract (Allium cepa) in the diet of seurukan fish (Osteochilus vittatus). The research was conducted in Drieng Beurembang Hatchery, Kuala Batee District, in Aceh Barat Daya and the onion was extracted at Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University on September to November 2015. The Completely Randomized Design Methods was in this study. The tested dosage of onion were 0 (control), 1%, 2%, 3% and 4% in the formulated diet. The fish were fed three times a day at (08:00 AM, 12:00 AM and 16:00 PM) for 70 days. The results showed that weight gain ranged  from 2.32 g to 3.21 g, the Specific growth rate ranged from 1.24 % day-1 to 1.41 % day-1, feed conversion ratio were 3.57 – 3.03, feed efficiency  ranged  33.40% - 39.25%, and the survival rates were reached up to 100%. The highest values for all measured parameters were obtained at dosage 4% of onion extract in the formulated diet. The Anova test showed that the different dosage of onion extract (Allium cepa) in the formulated diet gave significant affect on weight gain of (P0.05), but did not give a significant affect on the length gain, specific growth rate, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency and survival rate of seurukan fish (O. vittatus) (P 0.05). It is concluded that the optimum dosage of onion extract in the formulated diet is 4%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah (Allium cepa) yang optimum untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan benih ikan seurukan (Osteochilus vittatus). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Desa Drieng Beurembang, Kecamatan Kuala Batee, Kabupaten Aceh Barat Daya dan pembuatan esktrak bawang merah dilaksanakan di jurusan Kimia FKIP Unsyiah,  pada bulan September hingga November 2015. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan model Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal. Faktor yang diuji adalah perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak bawang merah (Allium cepa) dalam pakan dengan 5 taraf perlakuan masing-masing 4 kali ulangan, yaitu; 0 (control), 1%, 2%, 3% dan 4% ekstrak bawang merah dalam pakan. Pakan diberikan 3 kali sehari pada pukul 08:00, 12:00 dan 14:00 WIB selama 70 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan bobot berkisar antara 2,32 g – 3,21 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik berkisar 1,24 % per hari – 1,41 % hari, pertambahan panjang berkisar antara 2,45 cm – 2,57 cm, rasio konversi pakan 2,57- 3,03, Efesiensi pakan berkisar antara 33,40 % – 39,25 %, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup mencapai 100%. Nilai tertinggi untuk semua parameter yang diukur didapatkan pada perlakuan E (4%) ekstrak bawang merah dalam pakan. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak bawang merah (Allium cepa) dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot mutlak, (P0.05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan panjang mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio konversi pakan, efesiensi pakan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan seurukan (O. vittatus) (P0.05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh dosis terbaik adalah 4%.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the status of water qaility of the Krueng Aceh estuary and heavy metal content in water and sediment. Data were taken by direct measurement in the field (in situ) and in the laboratory (ex situ). Three sampling stations were determined by purposive sampling, namely; in the left bank (nearest location with TPA), right bank (nearest location to market) and middle river (middle river area often passed by fisherman boat). Heavy metal analysis was conducted using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) method and water quality status determined by STORET method. Based on the research result showed that that water quality parameters that have passed the standard of PP RI No. 82 Year 2001 Group III is TDS with an average value of 3332.78 mg / L, Pb with an average value of 0.052 mg / L, and Cd with an average value of 0.015 mg / L. The quality status of Krueng Aceh estuary water is classified into a moderate polluted or class C with a score of -23. The highest heavy metal content found in water sample is Pb with concentration of 0.106 mg / L. While, the average value of Pb was 0.052 mg / L and Cd was 0.015 mg /L, its have passed the quality standard specified in PP RI no. No. 82 of 2001. In addition, the highest heavy metal content found in sediment was Zn with the concentration of 29.633 mg /kg and its average value was still below the standard set by ANZECC ISQG-Low.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui status mutu kualitas air muara Krueng Aceh dan kandungan logam berat yang terdapat pada air dan sedimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui parameter kualitas air yang telah melewati baku mutu PP RI No 82 Tahun 2001 Golongan III adalah TDS dengan dengan nilai rata-rata 3332,78 mg/L, Pb dengan nilai rata-rata 0,052 mg/L, dan Cd dengan nilai rata-rata 0,015 mg/L. Status mutu air muara Krueng Aceh diklasifikasikan ke dalam tercemar sedang atau kelas C dengan skor -23. Kandungan logam berat tertinggi yang ditemukan pada sampel air di muara Krueng Aceh adalah Pb dengan konsentrasi 0,106 mg/L. Nilai rata-rata Pb 0,052 mg/L dan Cd 0,015 mg/L telah melewati baku mutu yang ditetapkan dalam PP RI No. 82 Tahun 2001. Abstract

Global biodiversity, especially fish, has experienced a decline, this occurs as a result of over-exploitation, the presence of introduced fish species and climate change. This condition makes researchers look for solutions to overcome these problems by using cryopreservation techniques. The main purpose of cryopreservation is to store, maintain, and ensure the survival of genetic material, so that using cryopreservation techniques can maintain the viability and function of gamete cells both immunologically, biologically and physiologically. The success of the cryopreservation technique has made this technique widely developed in various species of living organism including fish. Abstract

The condition of coral fish will improve if the health of coral reefs has a direct impact on the abundance of coral fish. The literature review aims to identify coral fish species and the abundance of individual coral fish in Indonesian waters. This study is a literature review containing journal articles from 2010 to 2024 from the Google Scholar database. The results of the study show that the coral fish species found in Indonesian waters include Acanthuridae, Scaridae, Haemulidae, Mullidae, Lutjanidae, Caesionidae, Serranidae, Siganidae, Sphyraenidae, Pomacentridae, Chaetodontidae, Mullidae, Muraenidae, Nemipteridae, Apogonidae, Balistidae, Labridae, Aulostomidae, Carangidae, Holocentridae, Pemoheridae, Pomachantidae, Siganidae, Tetraodontidae, and Zanclidae. The highest abundance of coral fish in Indonesian waters is found in the waters of the Karimunjawa National Park Conservation area with the highest abundance value of 14,850 ind/ha, namely from the Pomacentridae family with factors that influence the abundance of coral fish in Indonesian waters in the form of environmental conditions, coral reef cover values, substrate morphological characteristics, and community activities.

Abstract

The Scombridae family is a family of fish species such as tuna, skipjack, mackerel, mackerel, mackerel and tuna. Fish from the Scombridae family can be categorized into carnivorous and omnivorous fish depending on the type of food consumed. The purpose of this paper is to determine the gastric composition of the Scombridae family in Indonesian waters. This research uses the literature review method and the articles selected as references are sourced from scientific journals, namely google scholar. The results showed that the stomach composition of skipjack, yellowfin tuna, tuna and gray tuna were fish, squid and Crustacea, while the stomach composition of male mackerel and female mackerel were phytoplankton, zooplankton, Cepopoda, Crustacae, Chepalopoda, Bivalvia, fish and squid.

Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has a number of favorable characteristics, such as reproducing easily, rapid growth, resistance to sub-ideal environmental conditions, and survival in high salt water. The purpose of this study is to conduct a comprehensive literature review on the reproductive biology of tilapia in Indonesian waters. This research method is in the form of secondary data which is used as the main source in the descriptive approach of literature review studies. The results showed that male tilapia grew faster than female tilapia, and female tilapia required a greater amount of energy for the maturation of its eggs. Female tilapia has a higher gonad maturity index than male tilapia in Indonesian waters. Types of tilapia vary. With a size of ± 3 mm, the diameter of tilapia eggs is very diverse.
