Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah reparasi cast wheel (velg) aluminium yang telah mengalami kerusakan (retak) dengan metode pengelasan. Pengalasan yang akan diteliti meliputi 3 metode yaitu: las Oksi-Asitelin, las TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) dan MIG (Metal Inert Gas). Pengelasan pada velg berbahan Aluminium memungkinkan digunakan untuk memperbaiki kerusakan sejauh kekuatan sambungan las tersebut mendekati kekuatan dari velg utuh. Sebelum percobaan pengelasan Oksi-Asitelin, TIG dan MIG dilakukan, maka dilakukan dahulu beberapa pengujian untuk mengetahui data awal. Pengujian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi material asli (base material).  Dari pengujian awal diperoleh bahwa material asli adalah Al-7,3%Si yang memiliki kekerasan sebesar 57,63 HBN dan memiliki kekuatan impak sebesar 0,108 Joule/mm2. Data yang diperoleh pada pengujian tersebut merupakan data acuan untuk menjadi pembanding hasil percobaan dengan pengelasan Oksi-Asitelin, TIG dan MIG. Hasil uji kekerasan masing masing proses pengelasan pada daerah perbatasan antara logam induk dan logam lasan serta pada logam lasan, untuk pengelasan Oksi-Asitelin sebesar 38,69 BHN dan 54,80 BHN, untuk pengelasan TIG sebesar 30,47  BHN dan 45,15 BHN, sedangkan untuk pengelasan MIG sebesar 36,16 BHN dan 44,18 BHN. Hasil uji impak untuk masing-masing proses pengelasan, untuk pengelasan Oksi-Asitelin sebesar 0,085 Joule/mm2, untuk pengelasan TIG sebesar 0,096 Joule/mm2 dan untuk pengelasan MIG sebesar 0,102 Joule/mm2. Dari hasi pengujian kekerasan dan impak dapat diketahui bahwa nilai kekerasan dan kekuatan impak hasil lasan masih lebih kecil dibandingkan dengn kekerasan dan kekuatan impak logam induk. Hal ini berarti bahwa hasil pengelasan belum layak digunakan, karena nilai kekerasan dari hasil pengelasan belum mendekati nilai kekerasan logam induk.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-module yang layak untuk mata pelajaran pengelasan di jurusan Teknik Pemesinan dan Teknik Mekanik Industri SMK Ganesha Tama Boyolali. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D, meliputi tahap Define, Design, Development, dan Dissemination. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan lembar validasi untuk menguji kelayakan e-module. Penilaian kelayakan dilakukan oleh ahli media, ahli materi, ahli bahasa, serta siswa jurusan terkait. Analisis data menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian secara sistematis, terukur, dan objektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-module yang dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Nilai kelayakan diberikan oleh ahli media dengan skor rata-rata 3,8, ahli materi 3,9, ahli bahasa 3,3, dan siswa 3,3. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, e-module ini dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran pengelasan. Pengembangan e-module ini diharapkan mampu mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih efektif, efisien, fleksibel, dan interaktif di jurusan Teknik Pemesinan dan Teknik Mekanik Industri.

Abstract

Karangasem Village, which is located in the Gunung Kidul area, Yogyakarta, is a reflection of the long journey of the local community and its forerunners which are entwined in a rich history. The first trace in the history of Kelurahan Karangasem brings us back to the roots of the traditional culture that underlies people's lives in this region. The purpose of community service of the Defense Mechanical Engineering Study Program is as a manifestation of the implementation of the knowledge and skills possessed by Lecturers and Cadets to people's lives related to the field of mechanical engineering. The method used is direct practice in the field. The result of the community service was the achievement of socialization activities and free servicing of 35 motorbikes in the Karang Asem Village, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The majority of kalisari villagers, apart from being students, also work as private employees and farmers. To support mobilization in everyday life, people usually use two-wheeled vehicles in the form of motorcycles. Abnormal vehicle conditions are one of the factors causing accidents. By doing regular maintenance, it is expected that the performance of the vehicle can be maintained properly. Akmil Defense mechanical engineering study program, with concrete steps to contribute to the Kalisari village community through socialization and free motorcycle service.Free motorcycle service activities in the framework of Community Service Department of Defense Mechanical Engineering Akmil successfully met the target where there are 70 motorcycles that get free service. The implementation of motorcycle service was carried out for two days, where the first day successfully served 35 motorcycles and the second day served 35 motorcycles. In the implementation of vehicle service, there are no special complaints from the public regarding the vehicle, so that the service carried out is periodic service such as Carburetor service, Valve stel, Oil Change, addition of motorcycle tires, as well as checking and adjusting other components.

Abstract

There are components in a vehicle that are supporting components that are important in driving comfort that the air conditioning system components, air conditioning systems is something that appeals to the vehicle due to the kind of machine that works following the thermodynamic cycle. Air-conditioning or airconditioner in passenger cars, usually used to control the temperature of the moisture so the air remains fresh and clean. The main source affecting the cooling load is derived from direct solar radiation and also of the rider or passenger. The purpose of this planning design alone - the eye to provide a basis for estimating the thermal load in the vehicle cabin. From the calculation of the load, the cooling capacity can be calculated so as to enable us to know the size of the cooling load in need. The scope includes design planning of the outdoor heat load that includes loads of heat from sunlight through glass windows as well as loads of heat from sunlight through the walls or roof, while for the heat load of the room includes heat load of the occupants of the room. The amount of cooling load occurs in accordance with the geometric size of the car that is designed for 6 people was 3.66 kW. This burden is still able to be solved by setting the engine coolant, which for the overall heat that can be absorbed by the cabin was 5.26 kW.

Abstract

TNI-AD is an army unit whose mobility is mostly in the mainland area. In mengkaver all regions of Indonesia, requires a vehicle that is able to cross all terrain both flat terrain, and bumpy terrain that is difficult to pass by ordinary vehicles. As well as being able to transport personnel with a high level of mobility in the field of operation, so it requires a truck that is tough enough to overcome it. No less important is also the ability of the body of the truck, so that in transporting personnel and logistics must be strong and use materials made of armored are. This study aims to analyze and test the material from the content of the type of steel used in the truck body Unimog on physical and mechanical properties, when heat treated with a certain temperature.Steel type ST40 steel coating on military Unimog trucks has high hardness, can be seen from the results of hardness tests and tensile tests carried out in this experiment. The steel is broken when the steel is pulled with a strength of 5910 kg after undergoing a heat treatment process without being welded. Then the steel is broken when the steel is pulled with a strength of 4360 kg after undergoing a welded heat treatment process. Pure steel containing carbon content below 1% is a type of high quality steel, so it is suitable for use as a steel coating on the body of military vehicles.

Abstract

To support teaching and learning activities at Akmil, many diesel-engined trucks are needed that use diesel. Considering that diesel is not a renewable resource, biodiesel is a more environmentally friendly alternative, because it is produced from vegetable or animal oil. Testing the performance of diesel engines with biodiesel and diesel at various speeds shows differences, although not significant. This can be used as a guideline in selecting fuel, especially for TNI AD vehicles, and it is hoped that biodiesel can be widely known as an alternative fuel.

Abstract

The Mitsubishi 120 PS truck is one of the service vehicles at the Military Academy. This truck is frequently used to transport cadets, particularly to training areas. Given the challenging terrain cadets must navigate, including both uphill and downhill roads, an optimal and consistent braking system is required. This study aims to analyze the wear rate of the drum brake pads used in the Mitsubishi 120 PS truck. The research focuses on determining the hardness, wear rate, and carbon content of the drum brake pads of the Mitsubishi brand compared to the Indoparts brand through hardness, wear, and material composition tests. The test results showed that the hardness of Mitsubishi brake pads is 78.06 kg/mm², which is higher than Indoparts at 58.25 kg/mm². The wear rate for Mitsubishi pads is 5.79x10⁻⁴ mm³/kg.m, which is lower than Indoparts at 1.1599x10⁻³ mm³/kg.m. The carbon content in Mitsubishi pads is 35.48%, higher than Indoparts at 33.18%. This indicates that the harder the brake pad, the lower its wear rate. Therefore, Mitsubishi drum brake pads are more durable and recommended due to their higher resistance to wear.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of spark plug electrode gap variations on the performance of the Honda GL 100 105 cc engine at the PAL Akmil workshop. Combustion in a gasoline engine occurs in the combustion chamber due to the spark plug’s electrical discharge, which is influenced by the voltage difference between the central electrode and the ground electrode, as well as the electrode gap. A gap that is too small can hinder flame kernel development, leading to suboptimal combustion and reduced engine performance. The experiment was conducted using an NGK DE8A spark plug with electrode gap variations of 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.8 mm, and engine speed variations ranging from 3000 to 9000 rpm, increasing by 1000 rpm, using a dynamometer. The results showed that the highest torque was obtained at a 0.8 mm gap at 6000 rpm, measuring 7.19 Nm, while the lowest torque was recorded at a 0.6 mm gap at 9000 rpm, measuring 4.63 Nm. The highest power output was achieved at a 0.6 mm gap at 8000 rpm, reaching 6.81 HP, while the lowest power was observed at a 0.6 mm gap at 3000 rpm, at 2.75 HP. The highest brake mean effective pressure (BMEP) was recorded at a 0.8 mm gap at 6000 rpm, measuring 1.15 kPa, whereas the lowest BMEP was observed at a 0.6 mm gap at 9000 rpm, at 0.74 kPa. The study concludes that spark plug electrode gap variations significantly affect engine performance, with the optimal gap for torque and BMEP found to be 0.8 mm.
