Abstract

Sayuran terutama sayuran hijau merupakan hasil pertanian yang cukup melimpah di Propinsi Lampung. Sayuran hijau yang terdiri bermacam jenis yaitu bayam, kangkung, kacang panjang, brokoli, sawi dan lain-lain. Dalam hal hasil pertanian berupa sayuran hijau tersebut, masyarakat selalu mengkonsumsi sayuran hijau tersebut untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari sebagai penambah asupan gizi keluarga. Dalam hal mengkonsumsi sayuran ini, secara umum sudah terpola bahwa ada kesulitan untuk memberikan jenis makanan ini pada anak-anak. Kelompok mitra yang terdiri ibu-ibu PKK dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga di Desa Tulung Salak ini tidak pernah punya ide untuk mengolahnya menjadi produk makanan ringan. Untuk mengatasi hal ini Tim pengabdian memberikan materi pelatihan cara membuat sayur krispi. Produk ini berupa sayur krispi yang prosesnya menggunakan alat peniris minyak (spinner). Dengan pengetahuan ini diharapkan selanjutnya para peserta tersebut dapat mempraktekkan langsung pengetahuan yang mereka peroleh. Masyarakat diharapkan dapat membuat sayur krispi sendiri dan dapat dijual untuk usaha sampingan sehingga pendapatan keluarga dapat meningkat. Kegiatan ini juga dapat menjadi alternatif untuk usaha skala rumah tangga.

Abstract

Coconut as a results farming is listed and abundant in the province Lampung, especially in Bandar Lampung. In Bandar Lampung, has vegetable sales community that stated in the Bumi Waras region, Teluk Betung Selatan County. One of the concerns of the vegetables sales community is a coconut results farmer. We take a vegetable sales community as a partner in this activity, because they have a lot of problems about coconut after sales. Coconut that not salable sold will be moldy and decaying in fast. There should be a way to overcome this problem by making a coconut likeness of the derivative products. The solution offered to overcome the problems is right to the application of technology to process the oil into products were chosen in terms of coconut by virgin coconut oil (vco) using the tools for the coconut cutting process easier and more efficient. In such a manner as there will be increasing the levels of value added of coconut into a product with higher derivatives of the having the benefit of and higher selling values. By this activity involved in marketing devotion is also arranging training on any process affecting the production the virgin coconut oil (vco) on the home industry scale. The selection of products VCO is because the easy to process and small capital, so will not burdensome to the public to go into business. With the assistance of the coconut cutting machine raising revenue among traders because the device is versatile and it could also be used to help the VCO production process. A method of the activities that would be used in their business over the devotion this is the method involving a partner or members of the population, especially a vegetable sales in their activities to get as a whole. The implementation of this activity in addition the results showed in the form of a cutting machine of the coconut from which equipped with a motor with a fuel and other equipment to press coconut to get coconut milk also needs to be undertaken a rise in their ability and knowledge partner or a member of community of a vegetable sales through training coconut product development in this case the practice of making VCO including the packaging commercially. The goals of this training were to the ability of making a product VCO can be to raise the income of in the programs as well.

Abstract

Batik Indonesia telah ditentukan sebagai salah satu warisan dunia (world heritage) oleh UNESCO. Momen penetapan batik sebagai warisan budaya dunia dari Indonesia ini, dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh para perajin batik di seluruh penjuru Nusantara, tidak terkecuali perajin batik di Bandar Lampung. Daerah Lampung yang semula tidak mempunyai motif batik tulis, dengan adanya momen tersebut mulai mencari-cari motif batik yang kiranya mewakili daerah Lampung. Di Bandar Lampung, khususnya di daerah Pinang Jaya, kecamatan Kemiling beberapa kelompok perajin batik tulis sudah terbentuk dalam rangka mengembangkan dan melestarikan kekhasan batik Lampung tersebut. Hasil produksi batik di Pinang Jaya, Kemiling ini masih belum terlalu besar, tiap kelompok perajin dapat menghasilkan sekitar 6 lembar kain batik tulis dalam satu bulan. Hal ini sangat tergantung pada tingkat kerumitan desain. Saat ini hasil produksi kelompok pengrajin batik ini masih kurang maksimal. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh perajin antara lain adalah : proses pembuatan batik yang dilakukan menggunakan bahan pewarna batik dari bahan kimia, membuat perajin batik kurang nyaman karena berbahaya bagi kesehatan dan limbahnya dapat merusak lingkungan. Selain itu masalah terbatasnya modal usaha untuk pengembangan produksi. Tim pengabdian PKM akan memberikan solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini. Selain bantuan alat, pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas produk kain batik khususnya pada proses pewarnaan batik perlu dilakukan dan ini adalah satu solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan perajin. Industri batik yang sedang berkembang sekarang ini adalah batik yang menggunakan pewarna alam. Kata kunci: Batik tulis; batik Lampung; perajin batik, pewarna alami Abstract Indonesian Batik has specified as the world heritage by UNESCO. The determination of batik moment as the world cultural heritage from Indonesia, used it wisely by the batik makersacross Nusantara,no exception the batik makers in Lampung. The region of Lampung that originally did not have a written batik motive, with this moment to start looking for the motives that represent the region of Lampung.In Bandar Lampung, especially in the region of Pinang Jaya, Kecamatan, Kemiling, some groups of the written batik makers have been formed in order to develop and preserve the peculiarities of the batik Lampung.The result of batik production in Pinang Jaya has still not been too much, each groups can produce about 6 pieces of written batik in a month. This is dependent on design complexity. Now, the production of the batik makers groups is still less that maximum. The problems that facing of batik makers among them was the process of making batik was done using of chemical dyes, make the batik makers not comfortable but this is dangerous for the health and the waste can damage the environment. In addition, the problem was limited business capital to the development of the production of batik. The tem of PKM will provide the solution to solve the problems.Besides the team provided the equipments, training and mentoring related to increasing of the quantity and quality batik products, especially to the process of coloring batik need to be done and this is the solution offered to solve the problems of batik makers. Now, the developing batik industry is using the natural dyes to coloring the written batik. Keywords: Written batik, Lampung batik, batik makers, natural dyes

Abstract

The paddy straw mushroom is one type of mushrooms that begin to be developed in the village of Bayur. They cultivate the paddy straw mushroom because the commodity, can make a lot of money in the market, the maintenance are relatively easy and cheap with the price quite beneficial. For the media paddy straw mushroom used the empty bunches of oil palm which it was the utilization of waste from palm oil plantations. After several harvests, the paddy straw mushroom replaced with new media. Of the empty bunches of oil palm used, the rest of the media mushroom that become waste that accumulates and difficult to decomposed because of the cellulose and lignin of the empty bunches of oil palm. Increasingly the waste will pollute and containing bacterium of disease. The problems faced by partner is related to the aspects of the provision of energy and management waste processing the rest of the production of mushroom. To overcome the problems, the team provide training the procedure of making briquette and design an instrument print of briquette from the rest of the media of mushroom. This instrument give an advantages for both in the independence of energy and the utilization of the waste production . The method of PKM activity involved the partners (the farmers) in the overall of activities. The outer of this main activity are the instrument print of briquette and to increase the ability and knowledge the partner. The product development briquettes can be used own and sold commercially. With this training, the ability of the partner of the making product briquettes can reduce production cost and to raise the income of partner. Abstract

Plastics are used for human use, creating side effects on the environment. The low level of degradation in the plastic makes the environment must accommodate so much plastic waste that causes pollution so that innovation is needed in the manufacture of plastics that can decompose in nature. This study discusses the use of sorghum stalk as a filler in the manufacture of bioplastic. Sorghum starch and chitosan as a bioplastic raw material with a palmitic acid and PEG-400 as a plasticizer. The purpose of this study was determined the effect of sorghum stalk as a filler (packing material) into mechanical properties of bioplastic. Bioplastic produced is expected to resemble a commercial LDPE plastic. Starch-chitosan formulations used in this study was 63 : 35 (w/w), the size of the starch and chitosan was 63 micron sieve, stirring time about 35 minutes and stirring velocity about 375 rpm this research was also conducted various concentration of plasticizer (10,15, 23, 27, 33, 35 wt%). Some analysis of the mechanical test (tensile strength, percent elongation, and modulus young), water resistance, density and FTIR has determined the characteristics of bioplastic. The best result in this research is bioplastic with 1 gr filler formulation at 10% plasticizer concentration with modulus young value characteristic about  126,145 MPa, the tensile strength of 7,028 MPa, extension percent about 5,517 %, density about 0,9 gr/mL, the water absorption of 38,88%. The bioplastic characteristic already meet the LDPE plastic standard.

Abstract

Turpentine contains α-pinene the main component of about 75-85% and the rest consists of β-pinene (2-3%), champhene (4-15%), and limonene (5-15%). The content of α-pinene as the largest component in turpentine oil can be increased its selling value by hydration reaction to produce α-terpineol. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of temperature and reaction time to the conversion α-pinene and selectivity a-terpineol in the synthesis of a-terpineol from turpentine by using trichloroacetic acid catalyst. The variables studied were temperature at 55, 65, and 75oC; and reaction time of 30, 60, 120, and 240 minutes, respectively. The reaction was carried out in a three-neck glass equipped with a heater, a thermometer, and a magnetic stirrer. The method of this study was hydration reaction by reacting 0.055 mol turpentine, 0.55 mol aquadest, and 0.32 mol trichloroacetic acid catalyst with a stirring speed of 385 rpm. The analysis of the synthesis was accomplished using Gas Chromatography Method to determine the α-pinene and α-terpineol concentrations obtained, and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy to recover the compounds contained in the sample. The optimum condition was obtained at the temperature of 65oC and reaction time of 60 minutes with α-pinene conversion obtained 96,293% and the selectivity of α-terpineol 34,429%.

Abstract

The major component of turpentine is α-pinene. Alpha pinene can be hydrated using an acid catalyst to produce α-terpineol. It can be used as a perfume, anti -insect, and disinfectants. The using of heterogeneous catalysts as natural zeolite can be a new alternative to replacehomogeneous catalysts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zeolite catalysts and the reaction time which resulting the highest conversion on hydration reactions of turpentine to α-terpineol. Parameters were the effect of catalyst concentration of (5%, 10% and 15%) and the reaction time (60 minutes, 120 minutes and 180 minutes). The turpentine, aquadest and isopropyl alcohol were reacted in the three neck flask at the temperature of 70°C. The result of this study showed that the best condition the hydration of turpentine α-terpineol was achieced at 15% catalyst concentration and the reaction time of 180 minutes. The convertion was obtained to be 4.875%.Keywords— Turpentine, Hydration, Alpha terpineol, Catalys,Natural Zeolite.

Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan Pengabdian Kepada Masayarakat di Sekolah Alam Lampung yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengembangkan usaha pengelolaan sampah plastik agar menghasilkan produk dengan nilai ekonomis lebih tinggi. Dengan rancangan alat pencacah plastik yang dibuat, siswa di sekolah alam Lampung juga dapat belajar bagaimana cara kerja sebuah mesin pencacah plastik. Kegiatan ini akan memberi dampak langsung terhadap usaha penanganan limbah plastik. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian ini meliputi sosialisasi pengelolaan sampah dan pelatihan penggunaan alat pencacah sampah plastik. Dalam sosialisasi akan dijelaskan secara singkat tentang pemanfaatan dan penanganan sampah plastik. Pelatihan diberikan kepada guru-guru, siswa dan staff Mitra tentang cara penggunaan alat pencacah plastik. Kemuidan, diberikan satu buah alat pencacah plastik hasil rancangan tim pengabdian dan gambar bagian-bagian alat untuk sarana pembelajaran siswa Sekolah Alam Lampung. Harapannya, setelah Kegiatan dilakukan di Sekolah Alam Lampung, kemudian dari mereka akan disebarkan kepada masyarakat sekitarnya. Hasil akhir yang dicapa, Mitra telah dapat menggunakan alat pencacah plastik untuk meningkatkan efesiensi penanganan sampah plastik dan meningkatkan nilai ekonomisnya. Hal ini dapat dikatakan sebagai kegiatan dukungan positif terhadap salah satu program pemerintah dalam menjaga lingkungan hidup dan upaya minimasi limbah.

Abstract

Pengrajin batik di Bandar Lampung, khususnya di daerah Pinang Jaya, kecamatan Kemiling, terdapat beberapa kelompok UKM batik salah satunya adalah As Syafa Batik yang diketuai oleh Sulastri Oktavia. Hasil penjualan kain batik tulis ini menurun selama pandemi Covid 19, yang terjual hanya 1-2 lembar kain batik selama sebulan, bahkan kadang tidak laku sama sekali. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pengrajin adalah adalah penurunan penjualan sebagai dampak dari pandemi Covid-19. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah ini memberikan pelatihan untuk inovasi produk dengan pelatihan membuat ecoprint. Pengembangan inovasi produk dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait peningkatan nilai jual produk ecolabel dan kualitas produk kain ecoprint dan khususnya pada proses pewarnaan kain dengan pewarna alami telah dilakukan oleh Tim pelaksana dan ini adalah satu solusi yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan UKM batik. Pada kegiatan pelatihan dan praktek pembuatan ecoprint sebagai produk ecolabel ditunjang dengan pemberian alat-alat dan bahan kepada mitra As Syafa Batik untuk menunjang kegiatan ini. Alat-alat seperti klakat atau kukusan untuk mengukus kain, serta bahan kain serat alami, bahan untuk daun dan pewarna alami telah diberikan untuk menunjang praktek pembuatan kain ecoprint. Selain pelatihan dan praktek tentang pembuatan produk ecoprint, juga dilakukan pengenalan pembuatan pewarna alami sehingga limbah zat warna yang dihasilkan mitra ini lebih ramah lingkungan. Dengan adanya pelatihan dan praktek pembuatan inovasi produk ecoprint yang merupakan produk ecolabel kepada mitra As Syafa batik ini, diharapkan mitra trampil membuat produk kain ecoprint dan mengetahui mengenai produk ecolabel yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Dalam hal ini diharapkan pemasaran produk kain mitra meningkat dengan alternatif produk kain ecoprint yang lebih bervariasi dan keuntungan mitra meningkat.

Abstract

Corncob is abundantly available lignocellulosic biomass resources obtained from crops harvesting and found to be solid waste accumulation on a field. Less corncob is used as a solid fuel for cooking, and a more significant portion is vanished on the field by burning. Promisingly, corncob contains considerable cellulose as one value-added component potentially utilized as biomaterial or biofuel feedstock. However, the presence of lignin in natural lignocellulosic biomass results in recalcitrant structure and hinders cellulose accessibility. This study aimed to investigate microwave-assisted alkaline treatment to retain cellulose in the solid product while removing other impurities in corncob, especially hemicellulose and lignin. Sodium hydroxide was selected as a chemical with some variations in concentration. The chemical treatment was carried out under 400 W microwave power with various residence times and a 1:10 solid to liquor ratio. The cellulose content upgraded from 26.97% to 71.26% while reducing hemicellulose and lignin from 38.49% to 18.15% and 19.28% to 6.4%, respectively, on chemical treatment using 8% sodium hydroxide concentration for 20 minutes residence time. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis also confirmed the results. The treated corncob also increased its crystallinity from 30.11% to 52.91%.
