Abstract

Nature is often not just a setting for a fictional story in a literary work, but can also be the main theme in a literary work. The existence of the link between nature and literature raises a concept of ecological problems in literature among literary critics. The term eco-criticism (ecocriticism) is used as a term regarding the concept of literary criticism related to nature and the environment. One of the writers who explored nature in literary works was Guntur Alam. One of his works is the short story "Harimau Belang". Short story "Harimau Belang" by Guntur Alam discusses ecological aspects related to the importance of protecting the forest and the importance of not behaving greedy in utilizing natural resources in the forest so that the animals in the forest can live and breed well. Based on this, the writer is interested in analyzing the short story "Harimau Belang" by Guntur Alam using literary ecological studies. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The research data were obtained using primary data and secondary data. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The technique is concretized with the ecocritical study method specifically regarding the problem of the relationships and interactions of the figures with the environment and the natural surroundings. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the natural ecology in the short story "Harimau Belang" is there is a relationship with nature as a source of human life and with efforts to preserve nature. Whereas the cultural ecology contained in the short story "Harimau Belang" is a belief in myth, mutual cooperation, and related livelihoods. Abstract

Self-confidence is a character that must be instilled in oneself from an early age, especially in this case for teenagers in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. The coastal area of Tomini Bay has rich natural resource potential and diverse cultural diversity. However, this area often faces various challenges, especially in terms of education and character development of its young generation. Teenagers tend to feel unable to be equal to other teenagers in urban environments. This is because of their low self-confidence. Therefore, starting from this problem, the community service offers a solution by forming a self-confidence character through Public Speaking training for junior high school students in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. Public Speaking training gives students the opportunity to practice speaking in front of many people, be able to respond to feedback constructively, and overcome nervousness or anxiety. A structured and ongoing training program is expected to form a self-confidence character in students. The implementation of this community service activity uses a training method. This community service activity will be carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Satap Bonepantai. This school is one of the schools included in the coastal area of Tomini Bay. It is hoped that with this service, it can be a solution for the low level of student confidence to appear speaking in public in this case through Public Speaking training.

Abstract

Currently, technological developments are increasingly rapid. There are new advances in human life, one of which is artificial intelligence or AI (Artificial Intelligence), which is a computer system created in such a way as to be able to interact with the world around it through intelligent behavior like humans. Artificial Intelligence can target various domains, including the education sector. The role of teachers will be greatly transformed by artificial intelligence, including in terms of creating learning media. Media in this case is very necessary to attract students' enthusiasm in participating in learning, as well as to create fun, meaningful, creative and interactive learning. The use of Pictory and Fliki AI makes it easier for teachers to create learning media because the Pictory and Fliki features are able to automatically visualize a text into an educational video according to a certain topic. The targets of activities in implementing this service activity are teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Gorontalo City. This activity contributes to the creation of creative and fun learning based on current developments, namely the use of technology. The implementation of this service activity uses the Training and Mentoring method.

Abstract

Language contact that occurs in a multilingual society causes various linguistic events. One of these linguistic events is the language shift that occurs among children in Bantik Sumoit Village. This study aims to describe how the Bantik language shift occurs, the factors causing the Bantik language shift, and efforts to overcome the Bantik language shift among children in Bantik Sumoit Village, Bolaang Timur District. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type located in Bantik Sumoit Village, Bolaang Timur District. The data collection technique used is by listening to direct conversations from children while recording and noting important things during the interaction process. Then data analysis is carried out by transcribing, reading, selecting data, identifying data, grouping/classifying, and making conclusions. The results of the study show that the use of the Bantik language has experienced a significant shift which is marked by indicators such as the replacement of traditional languages ​​by other languages ​​and the emergence of an imbalance in its use. This indicator indicates that language shift occurs when the use of the first and second languages ​​becomes unbalanced. If this balance is lost, there are two possibilities that can occur. First, the first language persists despite the influence of the second language. Second, the first language is replaced by the second language until it is no longer used. This is influenced by a number of factors, namely education, socio-economic conditions, environment, and family. Efforts to overcome language shift include: adding Bantik language as a local content subject (mulok) in schools, the active role of parents in using regional languages ​​in the family environment, and increasing public awareness of the importance of preserving regional languages ​​in everyday life.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan terhadap dunia pendidikan dan profesi kependidikan. Era digital menuntut guru tidak hanya menguasai kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional, tetapi juga memiliki literasi digital, kemampuan adaptasi, kreativitas, serta kesadaran etika dalam pemanfaatan teknologi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara teoretis profesi kependidikan di era digital dengan menelaah tantangan, peluang, dampak, serta strategi penguatan profesionalisme guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan (library research) melalui analisis berbagai sumber ilmiah berupa buku, artikel jurnal, dan dokumen resmi yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa guru menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti tuntutan literasi digital, perubahan karakter peserta didik, beban administrasi, serta persoalan etika dan keamanan digital. Namun demikian, era digital juga membuka peluang besar berupa akses luas terhadap sumber belajar, kolaborasi profesional, pembelajaran yang personal dan inklusif, serta pengembangan kreativitas dan inovasi pembelajaran. Tantangan dan peluang tersebut berdampak langsung pada profesionalisme guru, sehingga diperlukan strategi penguatan melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, kolaborasi profesional, integrasi teknologi yang efektif, penerapan etika digital, serta evaluasi dan refleksi berkelanjutan. Dengan strategi yang tepat, guru diharapkan mampu menjalankan perannya secara profesional dan adaptif dalam menghadapi dinamika pendidikan di era digital.

Abstract

Profesi kependidikan merupakan bidang pekerjaan yang berkaitan langsung dengan upaya mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa melalui proses pendidikan yang terencana dan berkelanjutan. Guru sebagai bagian utama dari profesi kependidikan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk kemampuan akademik, sikap, dan karakter peserta didik. Artikel konseptual ini bertujuan untuk membahas konsep profesi kependidikan, profesionalisme guru, serta tantangan yang dihadapi guru di tengah perubahan sistem pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber berupa buku, artikel jurnal ilmiah, serta kebijakan pendidikan yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa profesionalisme guru tidak hanya ditentukan oleh penguasaan materi pembelajaran, tetapi juga oleh kemampuan pedagogik, sikap profesional, serta kesiapan guru dalam menghadapi perkembangan teknologi dan tuntutan pendidikan abad ke-21. Oleh karena itu, penguatan profesi kependidikan perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan agar kualitas pendidikan dapat terus meningkat.

Abstract

This study examines sarcastic utterances by netizens on TikTok during the 2024 Gorontalo Regional Election, focusing on their forms, functions, and influencing factors. The research analyzed comments on TikTok videos related to the election, specifically those containing sarcasm, selected purposively. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study categorized sarcastic utterances into four forms: (1) action sarcasm, (2) trait sarcasm, (3) result-of-action sarcasm, and (4) advisory sarcasm. The functions of these utterances include expressing opinions, prohibition, information, emphasis, rejection, commands, and statements. The study also identified two main factors influencing the use of sarcasm: emotional outbursts and disappointment toward the candidate pairs. The findings suggest that sarcasm is employed as a medium for expressing attitudes, emotions, and political judgments in digital discourse. This research highlights the role of sarcastic speech acts in the political conversation on social media during election campaigns.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Powtoon media in increasing student learning motivation in narrative text learning. The location of this research took place on grade X students of SMK Negeri 1 Bokat in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Data were obtained through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the use of Powtoon media can be applied as a means to significantly increase student learning motivation. Attractive visual displays, dynamic animations, and audio support make the learning process more interactive, fun, and easy to understand. Students appear more focused, active, and enthusiastic in participating in learning activities. Before the use of Powtoon, learning narrative text tended to be monotonous and less interesting. However, after the application of this media, students showed increased interest, involvement, and understanding of the material. Thus, the use of Powtoon can be an alternative learning media that is effective in increasing student learning motivation in learning narrative text.
