Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the language components which has an important role in language learning. Without having enough vocabulary someone is impossible to speak or communicate in English. The Purpose of Learning Vocabulary To learn something people have to know the purpose of the things Reviews their learn, in this case the purpose of learning vocabulary is to help the learners Easier in expressing the idea, the research aimed to find out the effect of using picture as teaching media in improving vocabulary at timor leste border.The method in this study is Experimental designwith control and experimental group. The populations in this research used random sampling technique with the number of sample are 42 students; 21 students in control group and 21 students in experimental group. This study was conducted at SMP Satap Negeri Sono Perbatasan Timor Leste, from the eighth grade students in academic year 2017/2018. The instruments that the researcher used arevocabulary test and questionnaire and the research data were collected through a pre-test and post-test and data were analyzed by meand through SPSS 16. The research resultshows revealed that the applying of picture as media in teaching vocabulary could significantly improve their vocabulary and using picture had controibution on students in mastering vvocabulary. Besides, the responses of the experimental group the students of SMP Satap Negeri Sono perbatasan Timor leste have good perception towards the using of picture technique.Therefore it can be concluded that the use of picture media for teaching english especially vocabulary to the students is really effective Keywords: Picture,Teaching vocabulary and Vocabulary Mastery.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the use of google meet can improve the speaking ability of students of iain Intensive English 1 program Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. This particular research is categorized as action research. These actions are performed in three cycles based on the class schedule. The study involved 35 students. This research data is qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is obtained by observing the teaching and learning process in speaking classes. Meanwhile, quantitative data is obtained through tests, and questionnaires. The findings suggest that the use of Google Meet terbukti meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa. Therefore google meet is very suitable to be used as online or virtual learning especially in improving students' speaking skills that focus on aspects and components of student speaking skills, but there are some drawbacks that can make learning less effective and less efficient when used as a particular application in the learning and teaching process. Therefore, all educators who use application media such as google meet are able to master and professional in using the application. Hopefully this pandemic ends quickly and we can adjust how the future of education around the world goes forward. For the next researcher, can be focused on the influence of the implementation of google meet application in speaking subjects to the interest of students to improve speaking. Based on this study, researchers found students' enthusiasm is very high in learning to speak, this proves that the google meet application can improve aspects and components of student speaking because it is influenced by increased student motivation during the use of google meet application compared to other applications.

Abstract

Language is a human and non-instinctive method of communicating idea, feeling and desires by means of a system of sounds and sounds symbols. Speaking is a number of impossible from must be selected. Picture is visual representation (of in object or scene or person or abstraction). This study is aim to know whether there is an effect of using picture to improve the speaking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Kefamenanu. The method used to conduct this study is descriptive quantitate method. There were 20 students class VIII in the second grade students of junior high school as the sample of this study. The result of the formula above, it is done through the following procedure check the t-score by using 1 level of significance states in the low of one tailed test. One tailed test used instantly of two tailed is the tendency of the writer in order to match with the result of the two groups. Thus, in accordance the result of the data analysis in this study concludes18 students have got score good 2 students got enough level. Based on the conclusion of data analysis the writer would like to give suggestion for the teacher and the students to pay attention more of the studying about speaking. Confronting with the large class teacher is expected to use a good method particularly communicative method that can help the students to be virtually independent for the spoken language.
