Abstract

Jewelry in general is a fashion item that is favored because of its uniqueness, beauty, and ability to become one of the investment objects. Various types, materials, and models of jewelry can affect the value of the jewelry. One of them is gold jewelry. Gold jewelry is not only preferred because of the visual aesthetics of the style and model of the jewelery, but also because the weight of gram values in each design has a stable investment price, and can also be an identity that reflects the user's lifestyle and is the most considered factor when choosing jewelry. In the value of use, some jewelry has its own value for a culture and is often worn for traditional events or certain holidays, such as Eid or weddings. Innovations in jewelry designs are needed to produce new products that can meet market opportunities, one of which is multiform jewelry design, where one model of jewelry can be worn in two or more ways. This study focuses on jewelry with the concept of 2in1 which takes the theme of Arabian Night on the basis of cooperation with one of the largest gold companies in Indonesia to issue gold jewelery designs that will be produced and accepted by the public.Key words: jewelry, 2in1, investment, lifestyle, gold, market opportunities

Abstract: Tanggulangin Subdistrict in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, is a well-known area as the center of the biggest bag and convection industry in East Java. One of them is Sartika Ratu, which has 10 employees and dozens of partners with the Tanggulangin SMEs. Sartika Ratu has a long experience in supplying traveling equipment for Umrah and Hajj travel agencies.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an essential role in the Indonesian economy due to their high economic resilience and contribute to gross domestic product and increased employment. The number of MSMEs reached 65.47 million units in 2019, or 99.99% of the total business in Indonesia, including the Ultra Micro (UMi) segment. The banking sector targets around 57 million UMi segment customers, but 30 million of them do not have access to formal funding sources because they are underprivileged and unbanked communities. Banking provides various services for business actors in the UMi segment regarding financing, deposits, and transactions. However, they have not been widely accessed and utilized due to a lack of understanding of these services. This study aims to recommend marketing strategies based on financial behavior and the needs of the UMi segment in banking services. The approach taken is Design Thinking. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 8 (eight) respondents of the UMi Segment business actors aged 21–55 years, with a maximum turnover of IDR10 million a month. The findings of the study reveal the crucial role of friends and neighbors; the lack of clarity in recording transaction data; the vulnerability in financial management; the shame of saving "small money" at formal institutions; the tendency to pawn in gold shops; and reluctance to deal with financial services if they have to stop working temporarily.
