Abstract

Abstract: Cholesterol Blood, Red Onion (Allium Cepa, L.), Hyperlipidemia. Changes in lifestyle, diet, and advances in technology may lead to a decline in physical activity in the community, resulting in the occurrence of energy imbalance. Hyperlipidemia was a condition to an increase in cholesterol and or triglyceride serum upper limit of normal. Onion (Allium cepa, L) contains quercetin in high enough levels can reduce total cholesterol. This study used a sample of onion powder capsules that aims to determine the effect of onion (Allium cepa, L.) to decrease blood cholesterol levels in patients with hyperlipidemia. This research is a pre-experimental design, wherein the treatment group was given capsules of onion (Allium cepa, L.) using a randomized experimental design pretest-Post test Group Design. This study uses the Shapiro Wilk normality test with the sample amounted to 31 people. Based on the results of non-parametric Wilcoxon statistical test showed that cholesterol levels before taking capsules red onion ranged between 226 mg/dl and 370 mg/dl with an average of 281.7 mg/dl. While cholesterol levels after consuming capsules onion ranged between 129 mg/dl and 400 mg/dl with an average of 273.7 mg/dl. The value of p = 0.737 (α ˃ 0.05) means that there is not a statistically significant effect capsule onion powder to decrease cholesterol levels.

Abstract

Abstract : Quality Evaluation, Ointments, Kaemferia Galanga, Curcuma Domestica, Curcuma Heynena. Indonesia is a country with very high biodiversity. In the high diversity of the stored potential nutritious plants that can be explored and exploited further. Community began to realize the use of chemicals to cope with life problems, especially health problems, in addition to expensive, can also result in less side effects both for humans. This study used a extract Curcuma domestica, Kaemferia galanga, and Curcuma heynena as active ingredients skin ointments. This study intends to determine the third quality evaluation ointment. This type of research was descriptive. Quality evaluation results showed nearly the same physical properties, except for the parameters of the spread, and viscosity. Test result of physical standart compliant was organoleptic, pH, power spread and viscosity.

Abstract

Abstract: Antibacterial Activity, Skin ointment, Turmeric, Kaemferia galanga L, Curcuma heyneana. Indonesia is a country with a very high biodiversity. In the high diversity are stored potent plant potentials that can be extracted and utilized further. People are starting to realize the use of chemicals to solve life problems, especially health problems, in addition to expensive, can also cause adverse side effects for humans. Human life is always surrounded by microbes, either pathogenic or nonpathogenic. Many plants that have properties as antibacterial, such as turmeric, Kaemferia galanga L. and Curcuma heyneana. This research use turmeric, Kaemferia galanga L. And Curcuma heyneana extract, as active ingredient of skin ointment. This study aimed to know the extent to which the antibacterial activity of these three ointments against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This type of research was quasi experimental, with the design of Static Group Comparasion. Activity test with wells method with diameter 6,5 mm showed that the mean of clear zone were Kaemferia galanga L. (14,52 mm), turmeric (13,26 mm), Curcuma heyneana (7,89 mm), and control (6.49 mm)

Abstract

Absctract : Antiseptic Activity, Kemangi Leaf- Cytrus Hystrix Leather, Gel Antiseptic (Hand Sanitizer). It is known kemangi leaf had contained saponins, flavonoids and tannins that benefit as antibacterial, while in research by Susanti, 2010 had proven that leather of Citrus hystrix contained essential oil as antibacterial and used as antiseptic in pharmaceutical case. So, to get the optimal formula as hand sanitizer or antiseptic gels used combination two extracts kemangi leaf and Citrus hystrix leather. This research is an experimental research with Post Test Control Group Design to analyze antiseptic activity using the Replica methods with to account the number of colonies of microorganism. Statistic test to the number of colonies of microorganism with Anova Test one way that confidence level 95% and obtained significance 0,000 the result P < 0,05 and continued to Tukey HSD test that confidence level 95%. The result statistic tes showed that have significan differences between negative control with the formula of gel antiseptic combination extract of kemangi leaf and extract Cytrus hystrix leather, so this formula have activity as antiseptic. The most effective variation concentration is concentration extract of kemangi leaf 75% and extract Cytrus hystrix leather 25%.

Abstract

Leptospirosis is an acute febrile illness infecting human and animal (zoonosis) and caused by the bacteria leptospira. Semarang city is one endemic leptospirosis with incidence rate in 2009 of 13,27/100.000 and case fatality rate 3,5%. This study aimed to know the epidemiological characteristics of leptospirosis cases and the relationship of environmental conditions of settlement with the incidence of leptospirosisThe study was observational with cross sectional design. Data population are the people who visit the health center with clinical symptoms of leptospirosis and secondary data from the Health Department of Semarang. Sample are people who visited the health center with clinical symptoms of leptospirosis (mainly: fever (body temperature> 37oC) or fever accompaniedby headache, muscle aches, conjunctivitis and rash). Data environmental conditions of settlement had beed observed and interviewed using, and analysed bivariat with chisquare. The results show characteristics of respondents most of the age group 10 -19 years(38.1%), male sex (56.2%), education level did not complete primary school (30.5%) Distributioncases of leptospirosis attack more men (55%) with mortality rate (CFR = 3.6), and in the age group 0-19 years that is as much as 32.5% (CFR=14.29)Environmental conditions associated with the occurrence of leptospirosis include kitchen wall not a wall, no plavond, open dumping and dirty house. To prevention transmission of leptospirosis, among others, hygiene sanitasi,rat proofing so it does not make to nest rat.

Abstract

A study on Society's Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) focused on Lymphatic Filariasis in Pabean Village, Pekalongan Utara Sub District, Pekalongan City has been done with cross sectional method. There were 100 respondences. The results showed 38% of the respondences had insufficient knowledge, 46% had suficient knowledgeand 16% had good practice. Most of the respondences had good attitude (91%) and 93% respondence had goodpractice. There was significant correlation between knowledge and attitude, there was no correlation between attitude and practice and between knowledge and practice. Observation showed that there were many breeding places around houses like riol anused land.

Abstract

Anopheles has been known as vectors of malaria and filaria. A research which was aimed to evaluate the diversity of Anopheles mosquitoes at Salak and Non Salak Areas was conducted. This Research located in Banjarnegara Regency which lay in a mountainous in the middle of Central Java (7'12"- 7'31 N and 109'20"-109'45"W). The location was divided into two groups i.e. (1) Kendaga Village (Banjarmangu Subdistrict) representing of Salak area, (2) Badakarya Village (Punggelan Subdistrict) representing Non Salak area. Mosquitoes were collected by landing and resting collection methods. All mosquitoes were anaesthetized with chloroform and identified under microscope. Shanon-Weaver Index and Eveness Index were measured to evaluate the diversity of Anopheles mosquitoes. The results showed there were 6 species of Anopheles from both areas i.e. A. aconitus. A. balabacensis. A. barbirostris. A. kochi. A. vagus and A. maculatus. Result of examination by Independent Sample T-Test indicated that the diversity index value between two areas were not significantly different.

Abstract

Banjarnegara district is one of the district which have malaria problem in Central Java. According to SLPV survey (2000-2001), the pattern of malaria increasement is similar with the pattern of Anopheles balabacensis density. Besides, An. balabacensis is a potential vector at a recent infected area and the location with malaria outbreak (KLB). Until now there is no complete study about bioecology of An. balabacensis in Banjarnegara district. This is why we conduct the study about bioecology of An. balabacensis with three location based on endemicity strata, salak field present and An. balabacensis present. The result of this study is expected to give a basic information for vector control programme in order to cut malaria infection chain.This study was observational with ecological study design. Population of this research covered the community and breeding place of Anopheline mosquito which was found in research location. While the sample is the population of An. balabacensis and its breeding places that found in research location.Anopheles balabacensis was found in location with salak predominantly i.e. Kendaga Village, Banjarmangu Subdistrict with MBR 0,05; Prigi Village, Sigaluh Subdistrict MBR 0,03; while at location without salak predominantly in Badakarya Village, Punggelan Subdistrict An. balabacensis was not found. The presence of salak vegetation tends to influence the presence of An. balabacensis, because its leaves give a shaded breeding place for An. balabacensis. Suggestion for malaria program organizer are always be aware of the presence of malaria infection by tightening migration surveillances and eliminating water seepages. Spacing plant and setting the number of salak rib between 7 to 9, cultivating larvarous fish or giving altosid at wellspring contain mosquito larvae.

Abstract

Latar Belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah Menstruasi merupakan gejala biologis yang alami, progresif, dan positif sebagai tanda biologis dari kematangan perempuan. Bila menstruasi menimbulkan kejut (shock) yang sangat hebat disertai dengan iritasi (rangsangan yang mengganggu), biasanya perempuan merasa sakit, mual-mual, dan cepat lelah yang disebut dysmenorrhea.Dysmenorrhea adalah nyeri menstruasi yang memaksa perempuan untuk istirahat. Dysmenorrhea terdiri dari dysmenorrhea primer dan dysmenorrhea sekunder. Hampir seluruh perempuan pernah merasakan nyeri menstruasi (dysmenorrhea). Berdasarkan study pendahuluan yang dilakukan di SMA N 1 Jatinom Klaten dengan metode wawancara sebanyak 14 siswi mengatakan diantaranya tidak mengerti tentang nyeri haid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan tentang jamu sebagai pereda nyeri haid pada siwi SMA N 1 Jatinom Klaten. Metode Penelitian ini adalah mengunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampling purposive, dengan jumlah sampel 76 responden. Teknik pengambilan data dengan angket menggunakan pertanyaan tertutup. Hasil Penelitian di dapat pengetahuan tentang jamu sebagai pereda nyeri haid pada siswi SMA N 1 Jatinom Klaten masuk dalam kategori sangat baik sebanyak 1,32%, kategori baik sebanyak 50,00%, kategori tidak baik sebanyak 47,36%, dan kategori sangat tidak baik sebanyak 1,32%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sebagian basar remaja putri memiliki pengetahuan baik sebanyak 38 siswi (50,00%). Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan jamu, pereda nyeri haid, siswi SMA

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah merupakan salah satu hal yang perlu perhatian dari masyarakat. Pengelolaan sampah dilakukan sebagai upaya agar sampah tidak mencemari lingkungan dan dapat dimanfaatkan sehingga memiliki nilai. Pengelolaan sampah di masyarakat dapat dilakukan melalui pembuatan kompos yang dapat dimanfaatkan kembali oleh masyarakat. Menurut Rukmana (2007), sumber bahan pupuk kompos antara lain berasal dari limbah organik seperti sisa-sisa tanaman (jerami, batang, dahan), sampah rumah tangga, kotoran ternak (sapi, kambing, ayam, itik), arang sekam, abu dapur dan lain lain. Tujuan proses pengomposan merubah bahan organik dari limbah menjadi produk yang mudah dan aman untuk ditangan, disimpan, diaplikasikan ke lahan pertanian dengan aman tanpa menimbulkan efek negatif baik pada tanah maupun pada lingkungan. Pengomposan melalui bahan organik pada komposter menghasilkan kompos dalam bentuk padat maupun cair. Pengadaan komposter dilakukan kepada masyarakat Gedawang RT.01 RW.10 dan RT.06 RW.01 dengan memberikan informasi berupa sosialisasi dan praktik pembuatan kompos dengan komposter. Pengadaan komposter dilakukan sebagai upaya meningkatan kesadaran diri dan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan sampah melalui pembuatan kompos, sehingga masyarakat dapat secara mandiri memanfaatkan sampah rumah tangga (sampah organik) dan mengurangi timbulan sampah ke Tempat Pemprosesan Akhir (TPA).
