Abstract

The objectives of this study were as follows to analyze the role of farmer group in development of coffee farming. The study was designed as a descriptive correlation study that conducted in January-March 2010.The number of 64 respondents using proportionate stratified random sampling method of all smallholder coffee farming groups in Sidomulyo Village Silo District Jember Regency. Primary and secondary data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with Rank Spearman correlation. Results showed that there were production unit, economic unit and learning proces has significantly correlation with facility of farming, economic unit and learning proces has significantly correlation with harvest process variable; and economic unit has significantly correlation with postharvest coffee farming.Key Words: robusta coffe, farmer group, intitutions

Abstract

The KK/Gunung Pasang Estate is the second largest estate owned by the Local Plantation Company of Jember Regency. The labour harvest of coffee productivity level is not optimal yet and the percentage of green-coffee seed is highly influential towards the realization achievement of coffee production in the  KK/Gunung Pasang Estate. For five years, the average of production realization in the KK/Gunung Pasang Estate is not optimal yet, that is only 75% target. The increasing achievement of production target can be done by optimizing the  labour harvest of coffee productivity. This research is aimed to analyze how far motivation, and ability correlate towards the labour harvest of coffee productivity by using Spearman Rank Correlation. The tools of research used correlational description. The sample method used propositional random sampling with 73 respondents. The result shown that motivation has positive correlation with the labour harvest of coffee productivity (Y). The variables of motivation include work performance (X1), and life-expectancy insurance (X3) has positive and significant correlation with the work productivity of coffee reapers. The variable responsibility (X2), and family members (X4) does not have a significant correlation with the  labour harvest of coffee productivity. Moreover, the test of age variable (X5) has positive correlation with the the  labour harvest of coffee productivity. Meanwhile, the experience variable (X6) does not have significant correlation. Abstract

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatabelakangi oleh fakta bahwa perubahan iklim yang melanda Indonesia akhir-akhir ini banyak memberikan pengaruh kepada usahatani. Kabupaten Jember yang merupakan sentra tanaman tembakau juga merasakan dampak dari perubahan iklim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku petani terhadap risiko perubahan iklim dalam pengembangan usahatani tembakau di Kabupaten Jember. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Lokasi penelitian di Kecamatan Pakusari dan Kecamatan Ambulu. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling sejumlah 40 orang responden. Faktor-faktor yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap perilaku petani adalah umur, pendidikan formal, pendidikan nonformal, pengalaman, jumlah anggota keluarga, luas lahan, rasio harga, frekuensi kegagalan panen, dan jenis lahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap perilaku petani adalah umur, pendidikan formal dan pengalaman dengan signifikansi berturut-berturut 0,048; 0,015 dan 0,011. Faktor pendidikan nonformal, jumlah anggota keluarga, luas lahan, rasio harga, frekuensi kegagalan panen, dan jenis lahan tidak berpengaruh signifikan.

Abstract

AbstractIn Bondowoso Regency,coffee agribusiness development must be full supported with postharvest sectors for primer (green coffee) and second products (roasted bean coffee, ground coffee, instant coffee, etc.).  Aims of the research were 1) to analyze variations innovation and technology  of farmers postharvest sector for primer and second products, 2) to calculat level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers farmers at postharvest sector for primer products, 3) to calculat level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for second products 4) to formulate some strategy alternative to development groups of smallholders coffee farmers.The research has been conducted from  August to October 2013. It used descriptif quantitative methods. The research used was a survey using 30 respondents from and 10  informants from all of center smallholders coffee farmers and stakeholders  in Industry clusters Area  Bondowoso  Regency. Data analysis by descriptif, likert scale and Fields Factors analysis (FFA)The result showed that; 1) variations innovation and technology  of farmers postharvest sector for primer and second products is good category. 2) level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for primer products were high level, 3) level motivation and ability of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for second  products were average level, 4) the strategy alternative to development smallholders coffee farmers with optimalisation and introduction coffee roaster and grider for group farmer scale in agribusiness development perspectives Keywords:  Coffee bean, motivation, Empowerment Strategyes, smallholders coffee farmers.

Abstract

The objective of Community Service Scheme Program for Community in KUB Ayu Kelurahan Kranjingan is to assist partner business groups in their efforts to improve partner productivity through the application of appropriate technology and business management training. Problems related to the production process faced by partners are 1) food frying is still done by traditional way, and 2) Partners difficulty in managing financial administration, management of raw material stock control, management of stock control of finished material. Motode in the manufacture of vacuum frying machine (Vacuum Frying Machine) begins with the process of planning, manufacturing, testing, and training the use of machinery for members of partners. The implementation method consists of 4 stages, the first coordination and socialization of the activity plan, the two identification and validation of partnerproblems, the three design, assembly, and field test of equipment and machinery according to the needs of partner technology, the four counseling and mentoring. The result of Community Science and Community Service program can realize the implementation of vacuum fryer machine with specification of raw material capacity 3 kg / process, LPG fuel with automatic temperature control, water circulation coolant, cooking oil volume: 35 liters, power requirement 900 watt, 180 dimension X 120 x 120 cm, with an oil heating temperature range of 80 0C to 87 0C. The frying time ranges from 90-120 minutes. Variations of chips raw materials include; Jackfruit, pineapple, with depreciation rates of 70%, 60% and 80%, respectively. Training of financial administration management skills, management of raw material stocks, management of finished material stock control has brought social and economic impact to KUB Ayu's partners. Keyword : Training of fruit chips, Vacuum Frying Machine, KUB Ayu.

Abstract

Pemanasan ulang makanan adalah salah satu metode yang paling mudah dan murah dalam mengawetkan makanan. Namun demikian, cara ini memberikan pengaruh pada menurunnya kualitas dan nilai gizi pada makanan yang telah dipanaskan, terutama pada pemanasan ulang lebih dari satu kali. Oleh karena itu, Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penguatan dan peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai cara pemanasan ulang makanan yang aman dan sehat sehingga nilai nutrisi dan gizi makanan masih dapat diperoleh. Peserta penyuluhan adalah anggota pengajian wanita PP Darul Arifin 3 Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten Jember. Metode yang digunakan penyuluhan dengan pendekatan presentasi, ceramah dan diskusi. Analisis uji T berpasangan digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan kelompok sasaran sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan dengan melihat perbedaan nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 pada nilai pretest dan posttest. Adapun nilai perbedaan tersebut sebesar 23,6. Peningkatan pengetahuan ini terutama berkaitan dengan informasi jenis makanan yang tidak dianjurkan untuk dipanaskan kembali. Selain itu,tumbuh kesadaran baru dan maju terutama aspek sikap dan ketrampilan peserta penyuluhan yang lebih baik mengenai teknik penyimpanan makanan yang aman, tepat dan sehat. Sebagai tindak lanjut, para peserta penyuluhan dapat menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh tersebut dalam praktik memasak sehari-hari
