Abstract

This research aim were to know; (a) the influencing factors of production of tempe; (b) The cost efficiency of  tempe production; and (c) The income of tempe enterpreneur; pass the increase of oil price. The research location selected by purposive method, in Baratan Kecil Village, Patrang Subdistrict in Jember Regency. Research methods that used were descriptive, correlational, analitic, and comparative. Population and sample determined by simple random sampling. Data that used in this research both primary and secondary. The methods used to analyze the data were; (a) Cobb-Douglas Production function; (b) t-paired test.; and (c) Income and cost Analyzes. Result shows that; (1) soybean, labours, ragi, and wood of agroindustry definitely infhered to tempe production in significantly level confidence degree. Furthermore oil price and condition of the oil price indefinitely of tempe in degree of confidence 95%; (2) The production cost of  tempe is efficien, (3) The income of the enterpreneur either before and after the increasing of oil  is significantly different at significantcy  level 5%. Abstract

The objectives of this study was as follows: analyze the capability level of farmer group members in implementing technological innovation of smallholders coffee farming. The study was designed as a descriptive correlation study that conducted in January-March 2010. The number of 88 respondents using proportionate stratified random sampling method of all smallholder coffee farming groups in Sidomulyo Village Silo District Jember Regency. Primary and secondary data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results showed that there was member’s capability level of them (KKRTM and KKRTL) were high but for group members advanced level (KKRTL) still low in the technological innovation implementation of post harvest and access to information, capital and markets. Abstract

Vegetables provide nutrients for health and maintenance of human body. Apart from this fact about its nutrient-content, human also need to make sure the vegetables they consume are chemical free. The most important factor in running this organic farming system is farmers’ behavior over the system itself. This behavior, supported by the farmers’ knowledge about the farming system, will lead to their demeanor in applying the farming system in Trawas. This research uses three methods; descriptive method, correlation method and analytic method. To collect the sample, Simple Random Sampling is used. From 104 members of the community, by using Slovin’s formula, the researcher gets 31 respondents as the samples. Furthermore, the researcher uses scoring and Rank Spearman method in the analysis. The result of this research shows that; 1) the rank of the farmers’ behavior are average, and the rank of the knowledge are also average (54,84%), while the rank of the demeanor are high (64,52%), and the rank of the skills are high (64,52%); 2) the rank of the application of the organic farming system in Trawas is high (54,84%); 3) there is corelation between knowledge, demeanor and skill with the application of organic system in District of Trawas at the 99% rate of signification. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah; (1) untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi petani kopi rakyat dalam beragribisnis komoditas kopi; (2) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penting (internal dan eksternal) yang mempengaruhi motivasi petani kopi rakyat; dan (3) menyusun formulasi strategi pengembangan agribisnis kopi rakyat. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif dan analitis dan responden diambil 100 petani dari 5 Kecamatan sentra kopi rakyat di Kabupaten Jember dan stakeholder terkait. Metode pengambilan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan diskusi kelompok-kelompok. Data dianalisis dengan skoring skala likert dan regresi linier berganda. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan beberapa kesimpulan, yaitu: (1) Tingkat motivasi petani kopi rakyat di Kabupaten Jember dalam melakukan pengolahan produk primer dan sekunder masih dalam kategori sedang; (2) Faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi internal petani kopi rakyat adalah; umur petani kopi, pendidikan formal petani kopi ;pendidikan nonformal petani; pengalaman berusahatani kopi; jumlah tanggungan keluarga ; luas lahan garapan, dan akses informasi. Faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi eksternal petani kopi rakyat dalam diversifikasi pengolahan primer dan sekunder adalah; ketersediaan sarana prasarana pengolahan kopi; modal petani kopi;intensitas penyuluhan; peluang dan kepastian pasar, dan; sifat inovasi (tingkat kemudahan di pelajari, dicoba, kerumitan, kesesuaian dengan sosial budaya dan keuntungan relatif). (3) Kebijakan dan strategi dalam pengembangan kopi rakyat sebaiknya tidak terlepas dari pembangunan perkebunan secara umum, yaitu memberdayakan dan mengembangkan di hulu agribisnis kopi dan memperkuat di hilir agribisnis kopi guna menciptakan peningkatan adanya nilai tambah dan daya saing kopi rakyat.

Abstract

Petani kopi rakyat organik mulai berkembang di Jawa Timur. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitU: mengetahui tingkat dan  perbedaan karakteritik petani kopi organik dan non organik dan dukungan penyuluhan, menganalisis faktor-faktor pengaruh keputusan petani kopi dalam menerapkan sistem organik dan non organik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di di Kabupaten Bondowoso dan Malang, Jawa Timur. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 376 petani kopi (120 organik dan 256 non organik). Penelitian menggunakan metode survai. Data dianalisis dengan metode  deskriptif, Uji-t dan Regresi Binary Logistic. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan non formal, skala usaha, penguasaan lahan, kekosmopolitan, dukungan penyuluhan pemerintah dan swasta kategori rendah, sedangkan  umur petani, pendidikan formal, motivasi, pengalaman, dukungan penyuluh swadaya pada kategori sedang. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada peran penyuluhan sebagai fasilitator, motivator dan mediator, pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, umur, pengalaman, motivasi dan kekosmopolitan. Faktor yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan petani menerapkan sistem kopi organik yaitu: pendidikan formal dan non formal, motivasi, kekosmopolitan, penyuluh swadaya dan swasta.

Abstract

Ridho Lestari farmer group are non-seed watermelon farmer groups who have permanent members and non-permanent members. Permanent members are farmers who have land while non permanent members are the farmers who do not have their own land. They rent from other farmers. This study aims to determine income, cost eficiency, and factors that influence farmer’s income. The study was conducted in the village of the district Muncar Tembokrejo districts Banyuwangi used analytical and comparative method. Sampling method used total sampling as much as 50 respondents. The data collection using interviews and literature were analyzed by income analysis, R/C ratio, and multiple linear regression. The results shows that (1) There were differences income significantly between permanent members and non-permanent members (2) There were differences on cost efficiency significantly between permanent members and non-permanent members (3) Factors that significantly influence farmer’s income were field cost (Rp), seed cost (Rp), pesticide cost (Rp), labor cost (Rp), sales volume (kg) and the selling price (Rp/Kg)

Abstract

Organic farming has become one of risky farming systems, because its yield could be lower than anorganic farming. Moreover, low yield can lead to a suffer in financial loss on organic farming. This might be caused by the changing in input usage when farmers changed their farming system from anorganic to organic farming. The research was aimed to determine : 1) income’s risk of organic farming by different cropping seasons. 2)income’s risk of organic farming based on its harvested area. The research was designed as descriptive and analytical research. The sampling farmers were selected by using proportioned stratified random sampling, Structural interview and documentational techniques were employed to gain informations about income’s risk in organic farming. Coefficient Variances was employed as primary analytical tool in this research. The result showed that : (1) risk in organic farming can be higher as long as it was applied by farmers. This result was concluded based on Coefficient Variance in farmer’s group both in Mandiri I which has 45,54% and Mandiri IB which has 41,34%. (2) according to Coeffient Variance Analysis, risk in organic farming can be lower if farmers have few harversted area. The Coeffient Variance for each categories in harvested area were : narrow harvested area (47,53%); medium harvested area (34,61%) and large harvested area (24,45%).
