Abstract

The absence of government policy in supporting the creative industry practice is a factor inhibiting the development of performing arts in Banyuwangi. Diverse local performing arts which if managed properly can become a crutch for the emergence of creative economy. This study aims at describing the struggles of women in the tradition arts and in conceptualizing  a creative industry model ba-sed on performing arts. The study employed ethnography. The field data were obtained through interviews with the informants. The interpretation of data used a combination of tradition arts, gender, cultural studies, and creative industry perspectives. The results showed that women of tradition arts in general do not rely their livelihoods on art activitiy. They keep trying to develop creative know-ledge embodied in art creation and innovations. Arts institutions have a develop-ment program to maintain quality. The role of the government is manifested in the forms of policies, facilities, activity forums and infrastructural development. The development of Banyuwangi-style performing arts within the framework of the creative industry can support the realization of the creative economy.Copyright (c) 2015 by KARSA. Abstract

The Drought Novel by A.A. Navis is the object of this research. Tells the life of a middle-aged man who lives in a village. His desire to change the way people around him think about work and make sense of life is hampered by their nature and personal past. Explicitly this novel is like discussing the life of the main character. The reality behind it, culture, innuendo, and religious observance neatly packaged in it. Therefore from that novel that is able to load content in the form of reality and expression of the author, the researcher chooses Dynamic Structuralism as the study theory. Will be achieved in this article the approach used only from the perspective of the expressive approach. The method used is reading, recording, watching, recording data on film sources, and processing data. The results of this study resulted in the study of extrasic (expressive) Sasra works, criticism of the authors of the work on human behavior, the introduction of several Minangkabau cultures, and personal experiences of A.A. Navis

Abstract

Abstrak Riset ini bertujuan mendiskusikan wacana teks syair lagu berbahasa Using “Gelang Alit” dan “Randha Kembang” yang dilantunkan Catur Arum di youtube. Konsep teoretis menggunakan teori kelisanan, sedangkan metode menggunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan kelisanan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kedua syair merupakan puisi basanan (pantun) yang dominan karakteristik bahasa lisan dengan perulangan formulaik, berkisah tentang cincin tunangan dan janda muda. Dengan media sosial/digital youtube, tradisi lisan primer beralih menjadi tradisi lisan sekunder yang merefleksikan dinamika sosial masyarakat Using. Tradisi lisan mampu memanfaatkan teknologi untuk menyosialisasikan nilai-nilai produk budaya lokal dan berpotensi mendapatkan keuntungan finansial untuk kesejahteraan keluarga. Kata kunci: budaya lokal, media digital, refleksi sosial, tradisi lisan, Using Abstract This research aims to discuss the discourse of the lyrics of the song in Using “Gelang Alit” and “Randha Kembang” sung by Catur Arum on YouTube. The theoretical concept uses oral theory, while the method uses a qualitative method of oral approach. The results of the study show that the two poems are basanan poetry (pantun) with dominant oral language characteristics with formulaic repetition, telling about an engagement ring and a young widow. With social media/digital youtube, the primary oral tradition has turned into a secondary oral tradition that reflects the social dynamics of the Using community. Oral traditions are able to utilize technology to socialize the values ​​of local cultural products and have the potential to obtain financial benefits for family welfare.
