Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of relaxation techniques Front Effleurage in reducing pain level of dysmenorrheal. The research design was quasi experimental with pre-post test control group design. The number of sample was 42 and selected by Simple Random Sampling method. The samples were divided into two groups each group of 21 respondents for treatment and control groups. Data were analyzed by paired and independent t-test. The result showed that there was significant difference of pain level between treatment and the control groups with p=0.000 lower than α = 0.005. In conclusion, it can be drawn that Front effleurage method can reduce pain intensity of dysmenorrhea.

Being older is the growth process; healthy ageing requires health promoting behaviors, especially having good hygiene and healthy lifestyle. An audio-visual media aid with video cassette is one of the media in health promotion that can be used to provide knowledge to the older people. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of media AVA (video Cassette) use in health promotion to the level of knowledge related to good hygiene and healthy lifestyle. This study was a quasiexperimentalresearch with a pre-test and post test with control group design. The design was chosen to measure the difference between before and after the intervention using a control group. The intervention group received health education with AVA media to increase knowledge of good hygiene and healthy lifestyle, whereas the control group received usual health education. A total of 25 older people participated in this study. The results of study showed that after receiving health education with AVAmedia, the intervention group had a significant higher level of knowledge related to good hygiene and healthy lifestyle than the control group (p=0.03). In addition, the level of knowledge related to good hygiene and healthy lifestyle of the intervention group after receiving health education with AVA media also significant higher than that before intervention (p=0.000). Therefore, AVA media can be used as media of health education for the older people to improve knowledge about the clean and healthy lifestyle in the community.

To support the succes of Tuberculosis treatment program depends on knowledge about the prevention and treatment of patients with tuberculosis. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the use of health education booklets with the knowledge of tuberculosis patients. This study used a quasi experimental research design. The design used was a pre test and post –test with control group design, in which the design is to measure the difference between an intervention and control group. The intervention group were given of pocket book for improving knowledge about tuberculosis, whereas the control group where given the health education. The health education was trained by someone who is fostered by the TB clinic. A total of 20 patients participated in the study of tuberculosis. The results of this study suggest the use of a pocket book for people with tuberculosis has a good correlation on the level of knowledge about the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, in which the correlation is 0,75 and the health education have a correlaation of 0.68.
