Abstract

Cara pandang terhadap agama dengan menempatkan agama sebagai sumber konflik, telah menimbulkan berbagai upaya menafsirkan kembali ajaran agama dan kemudian dicarikan titik temu pada level tertentu, dengan harapan konflik di antara umat beragama akan redam jika antar pemeluk agama saling toleran. Diantaranya adalah upaya meneguhkan kembali nilai-nilai toleransi yang didalam al-Qur’an diungkapkan beberapa kali. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk membaca dan meyakini bahwa pertama, meyakini bahwa terhadap kemuliaan manusia, apapun agamanya, kebangsaannya, dan kesukuannya. Kedua, meyakini bahwa perbedaan manusia dalam agama dan keyakinan merupakan realitas yang dikehendaki Allah swt yang telah memberi mereka kebebasan untuk memilih iman atau kufur. Ketiga, meyakini bahwa seorang muslim tidak dituntut untuk mengadili kekafiran orang kafir, atau menghukum kesesatan orang sesat. Keempat, meyakini bahwa bahwa Allah swt. memerintahkan untuk berbuat adil dan mengajak kepada budi pekerti mulia meskipun kepada orang musyrik

Abstract

This paper will try to decipher some of the contemporary issues related to the root of the problem of gender bias in the study of Islam. Among the issues which form the basis of the emergence of gender bias in the study of Islam is the First, the issue of the creation of Eve in Sura al-Nisa verse 1. Second, the issue of leadership of women over men. Third, Woman and Sin Heritage. From this context, it can be understood that the teachings of Islam do not subscribe to the ideology that prohibits female lead, also bebrabai myth tentan creation of Eve. Because, it all would give a heavy burden on women. Like the myth of menstruating women as though he had not seen and treated as human beings, because in addition to be consigned should also perform various hard rituals.

Abstract

Ibn al-Nafis is a monumental figure in Islamic scholarship. He wrote a fictional novel entitled “ Al-Risalah al-Kamiliyah fi’l sira al-Nabawiyah” which is translated as “ Theologus autodidactus”. This article does not focus on the content of this book but on the philological persepctive of how this book is edited by Joseph Schacht and Max Meyerhoff. Therefore, the question is whether this book which is edited by these two scholars is based on academic standards or not. Another question is how the editors study this text , particularly their main basis of editing this text.

Abstract

Umrah carried out by agencies of a travel agency with several provisions issued by the ministry of religion RI. The meaning of mahram that was set by the ministry of religion is include to a mahram pilgrims, mahram referred in family relationship or marriage. This is regulated by the rules of registration of pilgrims and associated with the administration of Hajj and Umrah service. So that they try as much as possible to include a mahram as defined in the shari'ah by including the documents to indicate the mahram validation. They try to make it all based on the documents which corroborate these requirement as evidence of the validity of requirement. The provision as above, would be very detrimental to women those will carry out the pilgrimage, because they will be burdened with additional costs while they did not get the expected benefits. For contextual understanding that participation of mahram can be interpreted as safety. But in pilgrimage, mahram has not been found detailed provisions in the pilgrims discurs. By paying a "mahram money" for women under 40 years old those without mahram in $ 300,000 upto $. 600,000, they will be looked for a Mahram by officer. Although, for the fact or in practice, during Umrah trip, they are not accompanied by a mahram that should accompany during the implementation of Umrah.

Abstract

Selamatan merupakan ritual penting dalam Masyarakat Jawa. Sehingga tidak heran dua Antropolog Barat Clifford Geertz dan Andrew Beatty tertarik untuk meneliti topic tersebut. Beberapa perbedaan bisa ditemukan dalam kajian mereka. Pertama, Clifford Geertz melakukan penelitiannya di Pare. Sedangkan Andrew Beatty melakukan riset di Kota Bayu. Kedua, Clifford Geertz menggali stratifikasi social masyarakat Jawa yang melahirkan tiga varian; santri, priyayi, dan abangan. Pada sisi lain Andrew Beatty lebih menitik beratkan pada keintiman hubungan sosial masyarakat Islam yang saleh, Islam mistik, hindu, dan kejawen. Sehingga titik tekan mereka pun berbeda dalam kaitannya dengan selametan. Bagi Geertz, selametan bukanlah ajaran Islam melainkan budaya Jawa. Sementara Beatty berpendapat bahwa Selametan berfungsi sangat penting dalam menjalin solidaritas sosial masyarakat Islam Saleh, Islam Mistik, Kejawen dan Hindu.
