Abstract

Artikel ini menfokuskan pada suatu kegiatan upacara adat di Gorontalo. Upacara adat tersebut adalah Upacara Adat Pohutu Momulanga, yaitu suatu upacara yang dilaksanakan dalam rangka penobatkan dan penganugerahan gelar adat kepada pejabat Bupati atau Walikota di Gorontalo. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa ada banyak makna-makna yang terkandung dalam pelaksanaan upacara adat Pohutu Momulanga tersebut. Makna-makna tersebut terdapat pada benda-benda yang merupakan simbol sebagai perlengkapan upacara dan kata-kata tuja’i (verbal) yang diucapkan pada saat penobatan dan penganugerahan gelar adat. Makna-makna yang terdapat pada simbol-simbol dan kata-kata tuja’i tersebut bermakna keteladanan seorang pemimpin dalam memimpin masyarakat. Upacara adat tersebut sangat dipengaruhi oleh unsur nilai-nilai dari agama Islam.-----------------------------------This article focuses on a traditional ceremony in Gorontalo. The so-called Pohutu Momulanga ceremony, i.e. a traditional ritual which is performed in the event of local coronation and conferral for a regent or major in Gorontalo. The study shows that there has a number of meanings and values in the Pohutu Momulanga ceremony. Among those values and meanings consist on regalia and sacred words as the symbol of tuja’i. Those symbols and the tuja’i meant as leadership examples to community. It is important to note that the Pohutu Momulanga ritual is very much influenced by Islamic values.

Abstract

Issues with regional rules on Koranic education in Gorontalo Province are discussed. This is because the draft regional law on Koranic education is merged with preexisting regional regulations for the provision of education, as stated by the Ministry of Home Affairs. As a methodology, normative legal study will provide solutions to these issues. The author employs this legal research method because it allows for a comprehensive assessment of relevant literature, statutes, and judicial decisions. This article draws the conclusion, supported by the study's findings, that a regional regulation on Qur'anic education in the province of Gorontalo may contradict with the principles of forming legislation. This is because the establishment of regional regulations should never lead to discrimination of any kind, and this is based on the content of regional regulations that mandate protection for all groups and religions. A legal policy for the Gorontalo Provincial government is required to accommodate Qur'anic education in regional regulations regarding the implementation of education in the region so that, in the long run, the values of the Koran are not only accepted in the sociol Later, the values of the Koran are not only accepted in the sociol. Therefore, it is essential to update regional regulations on the implementation of education to include a chapter on religious education that regulates not just Koranic education but also education in other religions. As a follow-up to the revision of regional regulations on the implementation of education, the governor's regulation on Koranic education is required.

Abstract

This research examines people's perceptions of promiscuity during the Mominango period, which is the first step to getting married. The Mominango period is a period of introduction to the prospective bride and groom as they move toward marriage and this is also a way for both parties to get to know each other more closely. During the Mominango period, there are things that each couple must pay attention to regarding social etiquette during the Mominango period. This research uses a qualitative approach to identifying and analyzing with interpretation techniques in looking at local community perceptions. The data required for this research was collected through a process of observation, in-depth interviews, literature, and documentation. This research aims to find out how society perceived free association during the Mominango period in West Bolangitang District. Based on the results of this research, shows that the Mominango procession in West Bolangitang District is where the men come to the women by conveying their aims and objectives to simultaneously discuss the dowry and matters related to the custom, but after the procession there is a form of free association which is influenced by factors environmental factors, lack of religious insight and low education factors which in turn gave rise to local community perceptions regarding promiscuity during the Mominango period which showed positive and negative perceptions from the community.
