Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematic creative thinking ability and student’s metacognitive during Covid-19 pandemic in SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. This research was conducted by applying descriptive quantitative method. Sample of this research is 20 students which taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 36 students. Questionnaire and test were used in collecting the data. Questionnaire sheet shows the average of students’ metacognitive is 78.61 (good category) and test sheet shows the average of mathematic creative thinking ability is 83.53 (high category). Futhermore by using ttest Kolmogorov- Sminov shows significant value is less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means there is any significant influence of students’ metacognitive on mathematic creative thinking ability during Covid-19 pandemic in SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning on students’ mathematical logical thinking ability on the topic linear equation system of two variables at the tenth grade students of SMKS Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Padang Lawas. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest posttest design). Sample of this research is 30 students which taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 55 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Observation sheet shows the average of applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 4 (very good category). The result of the test shows average of students’ mathematical logical thinking ability before applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 58 (enough category) and after applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 85,85 (very good category). Furthermore by using pair sample ttest (SPSS 16) and N-Gain shows the significant value is less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It’s concluded kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning has the effect on students’ mathematical logical thinking ability on the topic linear equation system of two variables at the tenth grade students of SMKS Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Padang Lawas.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze students’ mathematic learning emotional intelligence level based on gender in covid period. The approach of the research uses descriptive quantitative with 10 students as the respondents. Instrument of the research uses questionnaire (Linkert Scale) and interview. The result of the research shows male and female students who have high emotional intelligence able to understand the condition of self and others, able to control feeling, and able to interact to the friends and teachers. Male students who have medium emotional intelligence able to control his emotion but they are not able for the others, able interact to their friends but they are not able to the teachers. Female students who have medium emotional intelligence able to to control herself and the others, they able to interact to the teacher but they are not able to their friends. Male students who have low emotional intelligence able to control his self but they are not able to interact to the teachers and friends to get the help. Female students who have low emotional intelligence are not able to control herself and the others and they are not able to interact to the teachers and friends to get help.

Abstract

Rendahnya Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis (KKnM) siswa merupakan permasalahan utama penelitian. Permasalahan di lapangan siswa kurang mampu mengkoneksiakan konsep/ide matematika dalam pemecahan masalah matematis. Dengan demikian perlu suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang memacu siswa untuk menyelesaikan masalah dengan feleksibel yaitu pembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-ended. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan KKnM siswa SMP melalui pendekatan open-ended. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dilakukan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancagan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. Sampel yang dipilih adalah kelas VII-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VII-6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan hasil melalui uji independen sampel t-tes diperoleh signifikansi hasil pretest dan posttest sebesar 0,004 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan rata-tara antara KKnM siswa kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Selanjutnya melalui uji N-gain diperoleh nilai rata-tara N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,48 yang berarti nilai peningkatan berada pada kategori sedang dan pada kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai N-gain sebasar 0,28 yang berarti berada pada kategori rendah. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa KKnM siswa melalui pendekatan open-ended berbeda secara signifikan dengan KKnM siswa dengan pendekatan konvensional dan KKnM siswa yang diberi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan open-ended lebih baik dari pada KKnM siswa dengan pendekatan konvensional.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to understand mathematical concepts, activities and student responses in learning mathematics with realistic mathematics education approach. To achieve this goal, a quasi-experimental study was conducted with one group pretest posttest design. The population of the study was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Angkola Timur, sampling by purposive sampling, namely class 8-2, totaling 26 students. Research activities include the stages of giving the Pre-test followed by learning for 3 meetings which then ends with a final test. Through research conducted using the Paired Samples Test, a significance of 0.00 < 0.05 was obtained, which gave the decision that the initial hypothesis was accepted. Of the 9 aspects of learning activities studied in the application of realistic mathematics education, the overall average value of the percentage of all activities met the active criteria. Furthermore, the average overall student response to being happy, new, interested and understanding/interested in the implementation of realistic mathematics education is 91.11% ≥ 85%. Thus it is concluded that: 1) The implementation of a realistic mathematics education approach has a significant positive influence in learning students' ability to understand mathematical concepts; 2) Student activities in learning mathematics with realistic mathematics education approach are effective; 3) Student responses to learning activities with realistic mathematics education are in the positive category.

Abstract

The low ability of students to think logically in learning is the main problem in this study. Open-ended learning is a learning approach that provides opportunities for students to explore problems so that various and varied solutions are found that can stimulate the development of students' mathematical logical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of the application of an open-ended learning approach in teaching students' mathematical logical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental research with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of the study was 5th grade students of SDN 100201. Through purposive sampling technique, class 5-B was appointed as the research sample. Data collection was used through observation of learning activities and tests which included pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis, t-test and N-gain. The data from the observation of learning management conducted in two meetings gave an average score of 4.05 (good category). The data obtained from the significance of the logical thinking ability of students' t-test score is 0.000, which means that there is a significant difference in the similarities of the two average students' logical thinking abilities from the results of the pretest and posttest. The average value of the N-Gain of students' mathematical logical thinking skills is 0.38 (medium category). It was concluded that students' mathematical logical thinking skills through open-ended learning were effective in the medium category.Keywords: Learning, Open-ended, Logical Thinking, Mathematics, Elementary School.

Abstract

Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan model pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe TPS terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain eksperimen jenis One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 101 siswa. peneliti menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan dengan cara acak, dimana yang diacak adalah kelasnya. Pengacakan dilakukan dengan cara diundi dengan gulungan kertas, sehingga gulungan yang terambil itulah yang menjadi sampelnya. Yang mana peneliti menentukan subjek dengan teknik cluster sampling yaitu kelompok (kelas), sedangkan menentukan objeknya dengan random sampling. Setelah peneliti mengundi lima kelompok (kelas), maka yang terpilih menjadi sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X, yaitu kelas X RPL 2 dengan jumlah 18 siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan keterampilan guru dengan mengguanakan instrument tes berupa pre-test dan post-test untuk siswa. Selanjutnya, data penelitian ini dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan taraf signifikan 0.05. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) menunjukkan skor 32 dengan rata-rata sebesar 3,2 berada dalam kategori baik, 2) Rata-rata kemampuan memecahkan masalah dalam matematika siswa X RPL2 SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur sebelum menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TPS sebesar 52,94 dan sesudah menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TPS sebesar 87,27`. 3) Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji T tes anatara pretest dan postest menerangkan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) bernilai 0.000. karena nilai 0.000 lebih kecil dari 0.05. Artinya, penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS lebih efektif dari pada pembelajarannya sebelumnya terhadap pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas X RPL2 SMK Negeri 1 Angkola Timur.Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi pertimbangan bagi guru matematika dalam menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS dalam memecahkan masalah matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1. Mengetahui bagaimana gambaran penerapan whatsapp dengan bantuan Microsoft office powerpoint terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa, 2. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dengan pembelajaran daring berbasis whatsapp dengan bantuan Microsoft office powerpoint pada siswa SMK, 3. Menentukan apakah penerapan pembelajaran berbasis whatsapp berbantuan dengan Microsoft office powerpoint efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang dilakukan di SMK Negeri 1 Marancar pada kelas XI TKJ dengan jumlah sampel penelitian 24 siswa.Data penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan observasi dan tes. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil :a) Hasil rata-rata dari pembelajaran daring berbasis whatsapp berbantuan Microsoft office powerpoint melalui observasi yang diperoleh nilai 3,30 (Baik); b) Gambaran kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Marancar sebelum menggunakan pembelajaran daring berbasis whatsapp berbantuan Microsoft office powerpoint diperoleh nilai rata-rata 53,33 yang masuk pada kategori “Kurang”; c) Sedangkan setelah adanya penerapan pembelajaran daring berbasis whatsapp berbantuan Microsoft office powerpoint terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa mencapai nilai rata-rata 83,03, apabila dikonsultasikan kriteria kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa berada pada kategori :Sangat Baik”. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran daring berbasis whatsapp berbantuan dengan Microsoft office powerpoint efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa.

Abstract

The low ability to understand concepts is something that is still often found in mathematics learning, especially in secondary schools. One of the reasons is the lack of learning device that encourage students to be active in learning. Therefore, it is necessary to develop contextual learning tools in an effort to improve students' the ability understand mathematical concepts (AUMC) students. The type of research is descriptive quantitative. The research instrument was in the form of a learning device validation sheet. The research subjects were learning device which included lesson plans, student activity sheets (SAS), and students' AUMC tests. The object of research is the level of validity of the learning device. The results showed that the lesson plan with an index V of 0.72 was categorized as valid. SAS with an index V of 0.78 is categorized as valid, The AUMC-1 test and the AUMC-2 test with an index of V 0.76 and 0.74 were included in the valid category. It can be concluded that the contextual approach in improving student AUMC from the aspects of format, language and content is valid.
