Abstract

Incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is revolutionizing the educational domain, presenting new avenues for improved student support and administrative effectiveness. This research delves into the prospective impacts of AI chatbots in HEIs, focusing on their influence on teaching, learning, and research activities. Adopting a Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach, the study compiles and synthesizes existing research on the role of AI chatbots in higher education, drawing from a wide range of academic sources and scholarly literature. The results underscore the significant potential of AI chatbots to streamline administrative functions, enrich student learning experiences, and facilitate research endeavours. Nonetheless, challenges such as concerns over academic integrity, difficulties in accurately interpreting user inputs, and the need for appropriate resource allocation present substantial barriers to the successful adoption of AI chatbots in HEIs. The study emphasizes the critical need for proactive strategies to address ethical issues, ensure comprehensive training for all stakeholders, and formulate clear guidelines for the responsible deployment of AI chatbots in higher education. By overcoming these challenges and capitalizing on the advantages of AI technologies, HEIs can fully exploit the capabilities of AI chatbots, thereby fostering a more efficient, effective, inclusive, and forward-thinking educational environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in educational leadership, emphasizing the balance between maximizing AI’s benefits and managing its ethical responsibilities. The research aims to analyze how managing AI’s benefits, such as administrative efficiency (84% agreement) and data-driven decision-making (75% agreement), along with addressing ethical risks, including privacy concerns (85% agreement) and accountability (82% agreement), impacts institutional outcomes. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data from 150 survey responses were analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses, revealing positive correlations between AI management and institutional outcomes (e.g., r = 0.68 for administrative efficiency). Qualitative data from 20 interviews were analyzed thematically, with prominent themes including privacy, fairness, and transparency. The quantitative data showed that effective AI management is significantly associated with improved institutional outcomes, while qualitative insights underscored the need for ethical frameworks to guide AI use. Balancing AI’s operational benefits with ethical safeguards enhances institutional effectiveness and supports responsible AI integration in educational settings. These findings provide a foundation for policies that promote transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI-driven educational leadership.

Abstract

Background: The large-scale digitization of Indonesian literary works has produced extensive textual corpora that challenge conventional close-reading approaches and call for systematic, data-driven methods capable of capturing thematic, semantic, and affective patterns in fiction. Objective: This study aims to examine how text mining and semantic modeling can reveal lexical salience, intertextual relations, and narrative emotion in Indonesian fiction across different thematic orientations. Method: Using a quantitative corpus-based design, the study analyzes 36 Indonesian literary texts published between 1980 and 2022 through TF–IDF–based lexical analysis, document-level semantic embeddings with cosine similarity and clustering, and sentence-level sentiment analysis. Results: The findings show distinct lexical signatures that differentiate thematic clusters, coherent semantic groupings reflecting intertextual proximity, and sentiment trajectories dominated by neutral-to-negative polarity with strategically placed affective peaks across narrative progression. Implication: These results demonstrate that computational methods can empirically support literary analysis without displacing interpretive criticism. Novelty: The study integrates lexical, semantic, and affective modeling within a unified framework for Indonesian fiction, offering a scalable and replicable approach to digital literary studies.

Abstract

Inclusive education management aims to ensure equitable access to learning for all students, including those with special needs. Despite broad policy support, implementation remains uneven across contexts, including Indonesia. Common barriers include constrained resources, insufficient teacher preparation, cultural resistance, and high teacher workloads. This study conducts a systematic literature review (SLR) to synthesize recent evidence on practices, challenges, and solutions. The analysis identifies effective practices such as comprehensive teacher professional development, provision of disability-friendly facilities, and sustained collaboration among schools, families, and communities. Persistent constraints include budget limitations, inadequate psychosocial support, and social stigma that hinders the inclusion of students with special needs in mainstream classrooms. To organize actionable responses, the review integrates management perspectives from Total Quality Management, distributed leadership, and change theory, providing a structured pathway for improvement. Based on these insights, the paper recommends strengthening inclusive education policies, leveraging educational technologies, and implementing public awareness initiatives to build acceptance. Overall, the findings highlight the need for coordinated, long-term commitments by governments, schools, and communities to achieve a fair and inclusive education system.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the implementation of maqasid sharia in Islamic financial management at PT Bank Nano Syariah. The bank represents a medium-sized Islamic financial institution that is strengthening its institutional structure and economic strategy.Design/Methodology: This research employs a qualitative case study approach using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and internal document analysis. The study involved eight informants and was conducted throughout 2025. Interview data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis was conducted through thematic coding based on the principles of maqāṣid sharia, supported by triangulation of sources and research methods.Findings: The findings reveal that PT Bank Nano Syariah comprehensively internalizes the principles of maqāṣid sharia in financial planning, budgeting, risk management, financing, and performance evaluation. The principle of hifz al-din is implemented through compliance with DSN-MUI fatwas, sharia verification processes, and sharia financial literacy programs. The principle of hifz al-mal is reflected in risk management strategies, customer asset protection, and digital transaction security. Meanwhile, hifz al-nafs and hifz al-aql are implemented through microfinance programs aimed at community economic empowerment and financial literacy education. The principle of hifz al-nasl is realized through education financing and family business support programs that emphasize generational sustainability. These findings confirm that maqāṣid sharia functions not only as a normative principle but also as an operational managerial framework in Islamic financial management.Practical Implications: This research provides practical implications for strengthening maqasid-based Islamic banking policies and offers empirical insights into the internal practices of small- and medium-sized Islamic banks.Originality/Value: The novelty of this research lies in demonstrating how maqāṣid sharia can be operationalized in the internal financial management practices of small- and medium-sized Islamic banks

Abstract

This article aims to provide knowledge about the importance of stimulating the fetus in the womb in accordance with the Qur'anic verse An-Nahl 78 regarding the creation of hearing that precedes the creation of the senses of sight and heart (reason and mind). In examining the verse, the researcher used the science of munasabah to analyze the relationship and harmony between An-Nahl 78 and other verses. The results are then correlated with medical facts and scientific journals in previous studies.  Using books, journals, articles, and written documents as the main materials, this study employs a qualitative method. The results show that maximizing hearing during storytelling activities while the child is in the womb can stimulate their brain development and language skills. In line with Surah An-Nahl verse 78, this activity is also a concrete action to support the government in improving literacy through the National Literacy Movement (GLN) at the smallest level, namely the family.
