Abstract

Pembelajaran abad-21 menuntut guru untuk mengarahkan siswanya agar memiliki kreativitas dalam mengelola permasalahan sehari-hari. Salah satu metode yang tepat digunakan adalah dengan menerapkan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Untuk menunjang keberhasilan integrasi prinsip-prinsip disiplin ilmu STEM, khususnya pada pembelajaran IPA dan Fisika maka diperlukan suatu bahan ajar. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh bahan ajar berbasis STEM  dalam pembelajaran IPA dan Fisika terhadap hasil belajar siswa yang ditentukan melalui Effect Size (ES). Data penelitian diperoleh dari 20 jurnal nasional dan internasional. Analisis didasarkan pada kategori jenjang pendidikan, jenis bahan ajar serta besarnya pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis STEM akan lebih efektif jika dilakukan pada jenjang SMA dengan jenis bahan ajar buku.  Hasil perhitungan juga diperoleh bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis STEM efektif dalam ketiga ranah hasil belajar, yaitu pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the increase in learning motivation and cognitive learning outcomes of students. This research is a classroom action research. The research subjects were all eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Payakumbuh which gathered 34 students. The results of this study indicate that the initial motivation obtained an average score of 61.59 which is in the low category. While the average final motivation after the application of the discovery learning model obtained an average score of 70.68 in the high category. Cognitive learning outcomes of students in the first cycle obtained an average value of student learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect of 77.12 with a classical mastery percentage of 76% for wave material. In the second cycle, the average score of students increased to 81.97, the percentage of completeness was 85% for the optical instrument material. Based on the results of the study said that the application of Discovery Learning learning model can increase learning motivation students and student cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a need and learning goal in the industrial era 4.0. Indonesia's low scientific literacy is an urgent problem. There are many ways that can be used in learning to hone scientific literacy, including choosing sources and teaching materials that are integrated with natural disaster environmental. In this research, scientific literacy was sharpened in physics learning through the use of a knowledge enrichment book entitled Tornado. In this enrichment book, the discussion of tornadoes is presented from a physics perspective including the concepts of energy, heat, fluid dynamics and global warming. The aim of this research is to increase students' scientific literacy by using physics enrichment books on the theme of the tornado disaster. This research uses an experimental research method in the form of a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of the trial of 60 students from SMAN 13 Padang and SMAN 2 Padang Panjang showed that the use of enrichment books was able to increase students' scientific literacy, with an average pretest scientific literacy of 46 and an average posttest of 87, and an N-gain of 0.76. These results indicate that the use of tornado physics enrichment books is effective in increasing students' scientific literacy.
