Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to identify the relationship between internal locus of control and emotional intelligence with career gains. This study uses a correlational design. Data were collected using an internal locus of control scale, a scale of emotional intelligence, and a career scale of 247 students selected by a random sampling quota technique. Hierarchical regression analysis results showed a positive prediction between internal locus of control and emotional intelligence with very significant career gains (R = 0.555, F = 54,374, p <0,000). The implications of the findings of this study are discussed in this article.  Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara locus of control internal dan kecerdasan emosi dengan kemtangan karir. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain korelasional. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan skala locus of control internal, skala kecerdasan emosi dan skala kemtangan karir dari 247 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik kuota random sampling. Hasil analisis regresi hierarkis menunjukan prediksi positif antara locus of control internal dan kecerdasan emosi dengan kemtangan karir yang sangat signifikan (R= 0,555, F=54,374, p<0,000). Abstract

Vocational High School, students are students who are vulnerable at the age of 15-18 years, and are at the stage of adolescent development. One of the tasks of adolescent development is the choice and preparation of a career or job. This developmental task is considered important, especially in vocational students who are prepared as graduates ready for work, so that vocational students are very important to have career preparation maturity, but in reality the open unemployment rate of vocational students is more dominates compared to other education level students. The purpose of this study is to provide group problem solving techniques to improve the maturity of the career choices of students. this type of research uses pre experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test research design with a sample of 30 students taken using purposive sampling technique, the data collection tool in this study uses a psychological scale and then analyzed using Wilcoxon analysis techniques. In the analysis, it is known that Asymp.sig (2 tailed) is worth 0.005. Asymp.sig value of 0.008 is smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is accepted. The implication for teacher guidance and counseling is to be an alternative reference in providing group guidance services to help students in career selection.

Abstract

This service aims to add new knowledge and skills to elementary school teachers as an effort to optimize guidance and counseling services in elementary schools. Empty chair techniques was one of techniques in counseling that valued can be applied to the teachers even though the education background itself is not counseling education, to solve student’s problem related to communication in social relationship. The methods used in this training were lectures, discussions, simulations, and assignments. The results of this training showed there was improvemwnt empty chair technique mastery from the average pretest of 4,48 to 5,8 for the average post test. The suggestions for the next service is to give assistance to the participants in field practices to make the service more optimal

Abstract

Abdimas ini berupaya agar masyarakat memiliki perencanaan dan komitmen yang lebih baik dalam kariernya; mengembangkan jejaring sosial dan kesempatan pengembangan diri; lebih dari itu juga agar masyarakat lebih mampu membuat keputusan karier yang tepat. Prosedur kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahap yaitu: (a) analisis situasi dan permasalahan, (b) identifikasi peserta, (c) pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan (d) evaluasi pelatihan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan metode bimbingan kelompok sebanyak 2 sesi. Evaluasi yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa secara umum peserta pelatihan telah mencapai indikator yang diharapkan yaitu: 1) Kemampuan peserta dalam mengidentifikasi profil dirinya yang meliputi bakat/ keahlian, minat dan karakter/ nilai pribadinya. 2) Kemampuan peserta ketika menentukan arah karier yang hendak dieksplorasi dan direncanakan ke depannya. 3) Kelengkapan peserta untuk mencari tahu berbagai informasi kariernya. Peserta juga telah mampu mengaplikasikan materi pelatihan dalam merencanakan masa depannya. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman peserta sebelum dan setelah mendapatkan pelatihan.

Abstract

The transition period between the ages of 18-25 years helps individuals in discovering identities and things to strive for their needs. Concerning this issue, the present research attempted to reveal the role of religiosity and gender within social support and Emerging Adulthood among students at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Negeri Semarang in 2023. A total of 365 students from the Faculty of Education and Psychology in batch of 2019 – 2022 were chosen using a disproportionate stratified random sampling technique. Students’ data on emerging adulthood, social support and religiosity were obtained using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Inventory of the Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood (The Idea) and The Centrality of Religiosity Scale (CRS). Based on the findings, the relationship between social support and emerging adulthood was mediated by religiosity. In addition, gender failed to moderate the relationship between social support and emerging adulthood in students in the batch of 2019 - 2022, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Semarang State University.

Abstract

Students’ unreadiness in making proper career decisions will affect their chance of getting jobs in the future. The present research strived for determining the effectiveness of Theory of Work Adjustment-based career information services through ISORA game media as a means of revealing students’ career decision making difficulties. The research used quantitative research method in the form of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. There were 30 subjects that were divided into 15 subjects in the control group and 15 subjects in the experimental group. They were selected by random assignment. The data were collected using the Career Decision Making Difficulties Questionnaire Scale (CDDQ). The data analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showed differences before and after the intervention, while the intermediate test using the Mann- Whitney Test showed changes after the intervention. Therefore, this research confirmed that career information based on TWA (Theory of Work Adjustment) through the ISORA game media is effective in reducing the level of difficulty in career decisions making. Thus, further research counselors can develop this finding by combining the TWA with Holand's theory and other career theories.

Abstract

Relatif tingginya tingkat turn-over atau pergantian tenaga kerja berasal dari tamatan SMK di Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Kendal, menjadi salah satu isu penting yang mendorong dilakukannya penelitian ini. Sebagai salah satu kebijakan pembangunan ekonomi penting di Kabupaten Kendal, kawasan ini sesungguhnya memberikan peluang kebekerjaan yang sangat besar bagi tamatan SMK, namun peluang kerja ini tentu saja tetap harus diimbangi dengan kualitas tamatan SMK, yang ditunjukkan melalui Keterlibatan-Kerja yang baik di tempat kerja. Studi ini mengambil sampel sebanyak 176 responden, yang merupakan alumni SMK Kabupaten Kendal yang telah bekerja selama ± 6 bulan. Sampel dipilih menggunakan Teknik Purposive Random Sampling, dan data dikumpulkan menggunakan 2 (dua) instrumen Skala Likert, yang mengukur tentang: (1) Pemahaman Pengembangan Karir yang di adaptasi dari Asosiasi Konselor Sekolah Amerika (AKSA) dan Pedoman Pembentukan Pusat Pengembangan Karir bagi siswa SMK, dan (2) faktor Keterlibatan-Kerja yang ditunjukkan melalui Ketahanan Kerja, Dedikasi dan Konsentrasi Kerja. Hasil Anova menunjukkan bahwa ke-6 faktor Pemahaman Pengembangan Karir yang mengukur aspek Peduli Karir (X1), Kesiapan Kerja (X2), Informasi Karir (X3), Identifikasi Tujuan Karir (X4), Pengetahuan Tujuan Karir (X5) dan Keterampilan Tujuan Karir (X6), secara simultan dan sangat signifikan (Sig<0.01) berpengaruh terhadap faktor Ketahanan Kerja (Vigor) sebesar 13,2%, berpengaruh terhadap faktor Dedikasi sebesar 17,8% dan berpengaruh terhadap faktor Konsentrasi Kerja (Absortion) sebesar 10,2%. Dari hasil uji statistik-t, aspek Ketrampilan Tujuan Karir (X6) mampu menjelaskan pengaruhnya terhadap faktor Ketahanan Kerja, Dedikasi dan Konsentasi Kerja (Sig<0,01), Sementara itu pengaruh terhadap faktor Dedikas terhadap Pekerjaan juga dapat dijelaskan oleh faktor Identifikasi Tujuan Karir (X4).
