Abstract

Pembuatan kompon footstep sepeda motor dilakukan untuk mendapatkan campuran yang homogen antara karet dan bahan kimia pembantu.  Kompon dicetak dengan waktu, suhu dan tekanan tertentu sehingga menjadi produk.  Komposisi/formulasi yang tepat sangat diperlukan untuk mendapatkan sifat fisika kompon yang baik.  Hasil pengujian sifat fisika kompon menunjukkan bahwa ketiga formulasi yang dibuat (F1, F2, dan F3) memiliki nilai uji kuat tarik (N/mm2) lebih baik bila dibandingankan dengan kompon pabrikan (FP) yaitu 13.12 (F1), 10.79 (F2), 7.73 (F3), dan 6.89 (FP), tetapi memiliki nilai yang lebih rendah untuk uji kuat sobek (N/mm) yaitu 2.36 (F1), 2.70 (F2), 2.86 (F3) dan 4.50 (FP), serta kekerasan (Shore A) yaitu 15 (F1), 18 (F2), 22 (F3), dan 49 (FP).

Abstract

The fish will quickly be damaged when the post-harvest handling is not done the right way. One of the pickling process is inexpensive and commonly performed by drying. One dried fish that is often consumed by people is anchovy. The manufacturing process anchovy done traditionally by means of direct drying in the sun on a patch of para-para. The drying process is often hampered by the way the weather factor, making it less efficient because it takes a long time, require a comprehensive and drying results prone to contamination dirt and other contamination. Utilization of solar energy that is abundant in Indonesia can be used as a dryer to reduce the use of fossil-based energy. This research aims to create and test performance anchovy dryer design and build solar energy. The working principle of the dryer is made of heat radiation collected by the solar flat plate collectors are arranged such that it can be used to heat the air flowing in the hallway under the flat plate collectors with dimensions of 4 m width, length and height of 7.5 m 0.5 m. In order for heating the air inside the hall optimum, then the inhibition of air flow by installing a bulkhead inside the hall are arranged in winding. The resulting hot air is used to dry the product that is placed in the drying chamber. The airflow from the inlet to the outlet in the system is due to the movement of the turbine ventilator by the flow of air / wind around the dryer. Performance test results anchovy solar dryer is 50-60OC drying air temperature, RH 12-40% in the drying chamber, the drying capacity of 12.5 kg/hour. Keywords: solar dryers, flat plate collectors, anchovy, turbine ventilator

Abstract

This research is the development of a generator that can be on/off automatically based on the existence of commercial power. Genset used in the study is the generator of household scale premium gasoline. In particular, this study aims to make switching system for two generators with timer settings to prevent loss of power. Testing the performance of the system is made to ensure that the system is functioning properly. Specification design tool created an amalgamation of two generators which can perform on/off according to a predetermined time. After the generator 1 operating for 4 hours, then automatically generator set 2 will live. About 10 seconds since the first 2 live generator, the generator 1 is still in operation, then the load will be transferred to the generator 2. With this delay system, then nothing happens lost power. This mechanism will be repeated after 4 hours of generator 2 operates. With this system, the availability of electrical power would continue as needed. Keywords: automatic transfer switch, generator set

Abstract

The objectives of this research was to evaluate the feasibility of using NIR spectroscopy and interval partial least squares (iPLS) regression for nondestructive soluble solids content (SSC) determination in snake fruit. Spectra of snake fruit were acquired using a VIS-NIR USB4000 portable spectrometer in absorbance mode. The SSC was measured using a digital refractometer.  The calibration and validation models were developed using the iPLS regression using original spectra. The calibration results showed that the root mean square of cross-validation (RMSECV) of first six subintervals from 582-831 nm was lower than that of the average of RMSECV and these subintervals were selected for developing final iPLS regression. Using the selected subintervals the calibration has high quality of prediction with RPD = 3,35. Keywords: NIR spectroscopy, soluble solids content, absorbance mode, nondestructive   method, snake fruit, iPLS regression

Abstract

Feed is an important factor in the process of aquaculture. In addition to the accuracy of the amount of feed given, the time of administration also plays an important role in the effectiveness of the use of feed. The objectives of this researh are to minimize errors feeding, both in terms of the amount of feed given and the time of administration is by designing the wake of a tool that can provide the right amount of feed and time. A feeder fish automatically designed using a timer 0f 4 pieces, consisting 1 piece timer used to set an eating schedule, and 3 pieces of each of the other is used to set a long life electric motor driving the blower, set the interval between the electric motor driving the blower with motor electric propulsion auger, and set long-life electric motor driving the auger. The test results show that the performance of the tool fish feed spreader tool can operate in three time feeding, morning, afternoon and evening. Dosage of feed within 30 seconds can remove fish feed pellets weighing 375.2 grams for medium and 233 for small pellets. Throw distance of 2.2 m and a width of 1.70 m for the distribution of pellets being as well as the distance of the throw of 2,25 m wide and 1,68 m for the distribution of small pellets. Keywords: spreader fish feed, timer, auotomatic

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determine the quality of a given base material pellet steam treatment or blanching, determine the formulation of water use for the process of making elephant grass pellets to reach Pelleting Durability Index (PDI) of 100%, and measure the effectiveness of elephant grass pellets to the performance of large ruminants. The results of the research are obtained that the elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) with steam treatment 100ºC for 5 minutes and drying in the sun contains 36.51% crude fiber, crude protein 10.5%, energy metabolism of 4,826 kcal/kg, crude fat 1.8 %, water content 85.8%, 2.8% ether extract. ash content of 12.5%, 1.5% calcium and 0.4% phosphorus. The addition of water 10% of the weight of the material gives the best performance and value pellets made pellet durability index (PDI) was 100%. Milk production of elephant grass pellets giving treatment was higher (11.67 liters/day) compared to fresh grass treatment (10.5 liters/day) was significantly different at 5% level. Similarly, the parameters of the milk fat content in treatment provision elephant grass pellets (3.8%) was significantly different at 5% level by treatment giving fresh elephant grass (3.37%), while the phosphorus content, kalsium.laktosa, protein, and vitamin C did not happen the real difference between the two treatments.  Keywords: pellets, elephant grass, feed efficiency, animal performance

Abstract

The fish feed spreader machine is a feeding tool that is made to facilitate fish breeders in feeding fish. The fish feed spreader is specially programmed to provide fish feed according to the schedule and the desired dose. The purpose of making this tool is to design a fish feed spreader machine based on the logic controller programmale, and to test the performance of the designed fish feed spreader machine. The results showed that the average feed expenditure was 2.66 kg for a duration of 40 seconds. Then for the farthest throw of feed is 7.5 meters, while for throw of feed that is evenly distributed it has a distance of 5 meters with a spread width of 5.85 meters, and the angle of spread of feed is 90º.

Abstract

Corn is one of the important plants for human life, especially in Indonesia. This is because corn is the second food crop commodity after rice. In Indonesia, there are still many post-harvest maize product processing using the traditional method by peeling corn by hand, so that the yield of corn production is not comparable with the labor for processing the corn harvest. Agricultural statistics show that maize production in Indonesia has always increased from year to year. In order to better support the conversion process of corn cobs waste into animal feed, a chopper is needed. The machine functions to chop the corn cobs so that they are easier for livestock to consume as well as accelerate the work of bacteria during the fermentation process. If the two processes are carried out on separate machines, it will take a long time to complete. This study aims to make a machine that combines a corn sheller machine with a corn cobs crusher. The results of testing the corncob crusher and shelling machine gave 10 kg/hour shelling capacity, 13% unshipped corn, 68.9% corn shelling yield, 15 kg/hour corn cobs crushing machine capacity, 85.28% yield of corn cobs crushing.

Abstract

Rice is a plant that is rich in benefits, almost all parts of the rice plant can be used for human and animal needs, this is because in rice plants there are good carbohydrates, energy, nutrition, sugar, food fiber, fat, protein. For humans and animals, of course, it requires several previous processes so that they can be processed into various products. It takes a machine that can polish or whiten the broken rice husks between the rice bran and the bran separately so that it can be processed into the next process. The objectives of this research are to design the polisher engine build, and to test the polisher engine performance. Literature study, machine design, selection of materials and tools to be used, machine manufacturing and assembly, and machine testing are a series of processes for making this machine. The process of polishing cracked rice with a weight of 2.5 kilograms with an average operating speed of 0.1165 hours, an average of 1.23 kg (49%) of cracked rice polishing, an average weight of 0.59 kg of manure and an average yield of 54% average.

Abstract

Tiwul is a staple food substitute for rice which is popular in the community. There are two types of cassava processing into tiwul, namely dry cassava and wet cassava. In general, there are two types of cassava processing into tiwul, namely manual and semi-mechanical, the manual method uses a mortar or pounder, while the semi-mechanical method uses a coconut grater machine. The disadvantage of both methods is that users have to stack and push cassava manually. To overcome this, a grating device is needed that can work without being pushed by the user. The objectives of this research are to design and test the performancy of wet cassava grater using a two-cylinder mechanism. The work procedures used are machine design, machine component manufacturing, component assembly, and machine testing. The wet cassava grater machine with a two-cylinder mechanism has been successfully designed and functioning properly. The rotation of the main shaft cylinder is 1092.67 rpm, slip on the main shaft cylinder is 1.26%, the yield is 82.66%, the engine working capacity is 109.94 kg/hour, and the operating cost is IDR 9.55/kg.
