Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence the occurrence of boredom of learning among Santri in a boarding school in Garut. Then, the researcher continuously tested the relationship of the factors that were assumed to be related variables including character strength, Islamic religiosity and ethnic identity which were considered to be contributive variables that determined the occurrence of boredom learning in Santri. The mixed method research was carried out using thematic content analysis to obtain comprehensive information about boredom learning that occurred in Santri through an open questionnaire. Meanwhile, the partial correlation technique is used to identify how strong the relationship between predetermined factors is. The results of the study of 60 respondents who were selected by purposive technique sampling showed that the factors that caused the students to feel bored included the limited accessibility of leaving the pesantren, not being able to gather with their families, some programs that did not work and the learning process was monotonous. Meanwhile, the factors that cause students to survive are due to the dominant strength of character for studying religious knowledge, the emergence of the notion that pesantren is a good place to develop themselves and the amount of social support from peers. Meanwhile, there is a relationship between the strength of the character being tested, namely creativity, curiosity and persistence with Islamic religiousness (r = .3, p = 1%). Other results indicate that culture becomes a partial variable that has a direct effect on Islamic religiousness and character strengths.Keywords: ethnic identity; boredom learning; character strengths; Islamic religiousness; SantriAbstrak: Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk melakukan eksplorasi terhadap faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri di salah satu pondok pesantren di Garut. Kemudian, peneliti menguji secara berkelanjutan hubungan dari faktor-faktor yang diasumsikan menjadi variabel terkait meliputi kekuatan karakter, religiusitas Islam dan identitas suku yang dianggap menjadi variabel kontributif yang menentukan terjadinya kejenuhan belajar pada santri tersebut. Metode penelitian campuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis konten tematik untuk mendapatkan informasi komprehensif tentang situasi kejenuhan belajar yang terjadi pada santri melalui kuesioner terbuka. Sementara itu, teknik korelasi parsial digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi seberapa kuat keterkaitan dari faktor-faktor yang sudah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian dari 60 responden yang dipilih dengan purposive technique sampling menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang menyebabkan santri merasa bosan diantaranya yakni terbatasnya aksesibilitas keluar pesantren, tidak bisa berkumpul dengan keluarga, program ada yang tidak jalan dan proses pembelajaran yang monoton. Sedangkan faktor yang menyebabkan santri bisa bertahan karena adanya kekuatan karakter yang dominan untuk mempelajari ilmu agama, munculnya anggapan bahwa pesantren adalah tempat yang baik dalam mengembangkan diri serta banyaknya dukungan sosial dari teman sebaya. Sementara itu, terdapat hubungan dari kekuatan karakter yang diujikan yaitu kreativitas, keingintahuan dan ketekunan dengan religiusitas Islam (r = .3, p = 1 %). Hasil lainnya menunjukkan bahwa budaya menjadi variabel parsial yang mempunyai efek secara langsung terhadap religiusitas Islam dan kekuatan karakter.Kata Kunci: identitas etnik; kejenuhan belajar; kekuatan karakter; religiusitas Islam, Santri

Abstract

This paper examined the influence of internal locus of control on the moral disengagement of students at five Pesantren in West Java. The respondents in this study were 370 who were taken by simple random sampling. The questionnaire used for the daat collection that was made referring to the theory of internal locus of control and moral disengagement. The data analysis used a simple linear regression test and based on the results of statistical tests, it was known that the R value was -0.991 and the t value : -16,212 > t table: 1.65 and the sig.: 0.000 < :0.05, this meant that the internal locus of control had a negative and significant effect on moral disengagement, this study proved that the higher the internal locus of control score, the lower the moral disengagement behavior of students at five Islamic boarding schools in West Java.

Abstract

This research begins from the phenomenon of adolescents who deliberately and join in by others behaving immorally. This phenomenon illustrates moral disengagement, which is the mechanism of individual cognition to look for logical reasons that their immoral behavior can be justified logically.  Previous studies found inconsistent research results about the variables that affect moral disengagement. Therefore this study aims to find answers whether concern for other, perspective taking, and internal locus of control have an effect on moral disengagement. This study used correlational quantitative method with multiple regression tests. 500 respondents from high school and vocational high school students in the Province of West Java. The results showed that concern for others, perspective taking and internal locus of control had a significant negative effect on moral disengagement.

Abstract

This research was initiated from the phenomena  that psychology students have low motivation in learning and 60% of lectures have no educational background of psychology. Causal design was used to know the effect of one variable toward others. Sample are 100 students. Hypothesis analysed using regresion statistical analysis. Result shows that regresion model based on research data is significant. Lecturer competence give a linear effect toward student learning motivation

Abstract

This study aims to examine how organizational climate can moderate the effect of goal orientation on organizational withdrawal behavior (OWB). The research design used causality quantitative method. The sampling technique used population with the total of 207 members of Student Press in a university in Bandung. The data collection used a set of questionnaire consists of Organizational Withdrawal Behavior Scale, Goal Orientation Scale, and Organizational Climate Questionnaire. The data analysis used PROCESS Moderation Model test. The results show that goal orientation affect organizational withdrawal behavior significantly and organizational climate can moderate the effect. This finding indicate that organizational climate has a significant role to improve goal orientation on organizational withdrawal behavior.

Abstract

Background this research from fenomena at Psychologycal Faculty of  UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, that student motivation to learn is very low, for example: student present is small then 75%. Beside, 65% educational background lectures was not from pure psychology. According to student opinion there are much lectures from Psychology Faculty do not competence in their job matter. Research design is suvey and research method is causality because the research goal is know how streng effect one variable to an other variable. Total sampling are 100 students. Hypotetis test with Product Momant from Pearson because scale of data is interval. The result is Lecture Competence have possitive correlation and significant with Student Motivation to Learn with rxy value: 0.629, rtable 0.195, and p=0.000 (p<0.05). So Lecture Dicipline to Work have possitive correlation and significant with Student Motivation to Learn with rxy value: 0.755, rtable 0.195, and p=0.000 (p<0.05). So Lecture Competence and Dicipline to Work have possitive correlation and significant with Student Motivation to Learn with rxy value:0.762, rtable : 0.195, and p=0.000 (p<0.05), and  is 58%

Abstract

Giftedness and discipline are important basic foundation for children to prepare their future. Thus, the development of giftedness and altering behavior with self disciplined regulation needs to be counted for by parents and teachers. Focusing on nurturing giftedness was considered important that children can prepare themselves to be professional individuals who know their strengths and weaknesses to face all aspects in life. In the other hand, discipline and self regulatory were set to prepare those children to have responsibilities and professional ethos both at work life and in personal life. Parents and teacher in this case need to provide time and design a systematic plan to develop their potential. An effective model for this purpose is a giftedness development and self regulatory training which were designed according to the principal of children’s development.

Abstract

Divorced family may prone to stress and experience hopelessness. This study aims to explore the development of hope of a student from divorced family. This study used case study method with qualitative approach and interviewed an undergraduate student in an Islamic university in Bandung. The findings show that the participant experienced the development of hope despite its prior negative experience with the family. The participant was able to describe her goals in detail. Her effort to achieve the goals indicates the pathways aspect through her actions related to the goals. The agency aspect was expressed through her motivation to perform more than others. She usually wrote down the goals and attempted to obtain various social supports. One main factor influencing her hope was the relationship with the caregiver, her mother.

Abstract

Students who continue their education abroad will be vulnerable to stress and other adaptation problems. Success in overcoming new pressures and situations, one of which is determined by the personality characteristics of each person. This research aims to determine the role of culture shock as a mediator of the relationship between the personality of the achiever and the challenger to the sojourner adjustment. Causality quantitative research design is used to answer this goal by involving research respondents, namely Pattani students who are Muslim and are studying in the city of Bandung. Saturated sampling technique was used to obtain the characteristics of the sample in the research so that as many as 225 respondents were involved in filling out the research questionnaire. The data collection method uses a Likert scale with data analysis using the SEM (Structural Equation Model) approach. Structural analysis shows that cultural shock plays an effective and significant role as a mediator variable in the relationship between the personality of the achiever and challenger to the sojourner adjustment.

Abstract

This research was based on the phenomenon of religiosity and the application of Sundanese cultural values in Bandung. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Sundanese resilience and culture on moral behavior. The design of this study uses a causality design that aims to determine how much influence one variable has on another. The total sample were 100 villagers. The data was collected using a set of questionnaire of religiosity, Sundanese culture, and moral behaviour, with Likert model. Hypothesis was tested using regression. The findings show that religiosity and Sundanese culture have positive and significant effect on moral behavior.
