Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the role of culture shock as a mediator between personality reformers and sojourner adjustment. The quantitative research design was used in this study of Muslim students from the Pattani province in Southern Thailand who were studying in Bandung. Respondents involved in this study were 225 people selected using saturated sampling techniques. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires containing 3 measuring tools that have been modified by the author including reformer personality scale, sojourner adjustment scale, and culture shock scale. Data analysis using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). This study concludes that the theoretical model of the role of reformer personality on sojourner adjustment through cultural shock mediators is fit with empirical data. Structural analysis shows that cultural shock is a significant mediator variable on the influence of reformer personality on sojourner adjustment.

Abstract

The problem faced by the people of Palasarigirang Village is that the level of public health has decreased and the community's economy has decreased drastically. In public health services, there is a shortage of vitamin C which is usually sold in stalls and drug stores in Palasarigirang Village and its surroundings. In addition to this, the economic aspect of the Palasarigirang Village community has decreased which has an impact on the purchasing power of the community to be very low. The purpose of this community service is to increase community knowledge and skills on health through Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) by planting lemon trees as an effort to overcome the scarcity of vitamin C herbally and to increase family economic resilience. The methods used are lectures and demonstration methods. The lecture method was carried out on the delivery of program socialization and material on land use and knowledge of the uses and benefits of lemons. While the demonstration method is used to provide examples of planting lemon trees and the actual implementation. As for the results of this community service, the people of Palasarigirang Village have knowledge and skills about planting lemon trees as well as their uses and benefits reaching 83.33% and in its implementation as many as 30 families of Palasarigirang Village residents, their home yards and village streets have lemon tree

Abstract

Social and cultural changes impact advances in Science and Technology (IPTEK) that occur at any time, especially in communication and information technology. As a result, these advances occurred in community activities in the fields of economy, law, politics, education, and others. This study aims to analyse how the management of improving the quality of Islamic Education (hereafter, PAI) learning in entering socio-cultural changes at two different state senior high schools in Sukabumi City, West Java. This article used a phenomenological study as the research design. Interviews and observations were conducted to collect the data. After that, the data was analysed using three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification/interpretation. Based on the research focus on PAI learning management in entering socio-cultural changes in those two schools, the results of the research, in general, can be concluded that PAI teachers at those schools have understood and implemented PAI learning management in entering the socio-cultural change in accordance with applicable techniques and theories so that the learning process is conducive even though the results have not reached a very satisfactory target.

Abstract

Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan profesional pendidik dalam melaksanakan tugas belajar mengajar salah satu dengan meningkatkan kualifikasi akademik pendidik. Seorang pendidik pada Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini akan disebut sebagai seorang guru apabila telah menyelesaikan pendidikan pada tingkat Strata 1 (S1). Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 58 Tahun 2009 Tentang Standar Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini disebutkan kualifikasi dan kompetensi guru PAUD didasarkan peraturan menteri Pendidikan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 16 Tahun 2007 tentang standar kualifikasi akademik dan kompetensi guru. Bagi guru PAUD jalur pendidikan formal (TK, RA, dan yang sederajat) dan guru PAUD jalur pendidikan nonformal (TPA, KB, dan sederajat) yang belum memenuhi kualifikasi akademik dan kompetensi disebut guru pendamping dan pengasuh. Seorang guru PAUD harus memiliki keilmuan kearifan lokal daerah setempat, misal, kearifan lokal sunda di daerah Jawa Barat. Contoh, “cul dogdog tinggal igel, ”yaitu orang yang serah dan lupa diri akan tercela di masyarakat dan dianggap tidak bertanggung-jawab.”Kearifan lokal sunda dapat dijadikan sebagai pijakan dalam proses belajar mengajar anak didik sejak usia dini untuk meningkatkan kepribadiannya hingga ke tingkat perguruan tinggi. Guru yang memiliki kompetensi profesional memiliki keilmuan guna pengembangan kepribadian anak usia dini dengan kearifan lokal sunda yang ia miliki. Maka dengan demikian, anak usia dini dalam proses belajar mengajar di PAUD memperoleh ilmu tentang kearifan lokal sunda yang sangat bermanfaat bagi pengembangan kepribadian anak usia dini.

Abstract

Pembelajaran pada satuan lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini  di Desa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Caringin Kabupaten Sukabumi dilakukan oleh guru apa adanya dan tidak sesuai dengan teori dan konsep mengajar dan pembelajaran yang sebenarnya. Akibat dari pembelajaran tersebut, peserta didik kurang bahkan tidak optimal memperoleh pengalaman belajar sebagaimana yang diharapkan, karena tujuan pembelajaran tersebut tidak terkonsep dan dilaksanakan secara baik dan benar. Untuk memperbaiki masalah tersebut dilakukan melalui kegiatan pelatihan microteaching yang merupakan salah satu program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Institut Madani Nusantara Sukabumi dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan teknik dasar mengajar guru PAUD Desa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Caringin Kabupaten Sukabumi. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan tersebut yaitu Metode Demontrasi, Metode Resitasi (Penugasan), dan Metode Drill (Latihan). Dari hasil pelatihan yang dilaksanakan selama empat kali pertemuan guru PAUD Desa Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Caringin Sukabumi mengalami perubahan dan peningkatan dalam melakukan teknik dasar mengajar yaitu pada keterampila dasar membuka dan menutup pelajaran. Keberhasilan pelatihan teknik dasar mengajar pada keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran tersebut dilkukan melalui microteacing dengan ketat dan konsisten melaksanakan prosedur sebagaimana yang telah ditetapkan. Sealin itu juga kebarhasilan pelatihan tersebut ditentukan pula oleh minat dan motivasi baik dari peserta latihan, mahassiswa sebagai fasilitator, dan dosen sebagai trainer.
