Abstract

Family planning program is an effort to solve the demoghraphy issue in Indonesia.Metode Operasi Wanita (MOW) is a contraception method that can be exact choice for family who want to stop having children and end the pregnancy. Husband’s social support is needed for MOW as a contraception method of family planning program,especially for unmet need Of eligible couples. In 2012, Puger sub district had the highest of eligible couples of unmet need in Jember regency.The objective of this research is to explain husband’s social support for wive to use contraception of MOW. This research applied qualitative-method.The data was collected by in-depth interviews.The informants were defined by purposive sampling. Based on the results of indepth interview, it was known that most of husband didn’t give social support in three aspects. It was caused most of them had a poor knowledge about MOW and high cost that have to be paid as administrative and accomodative cost for MOW services. There were some factors caused unmet needs in Puger Sub district : (1) they are officer of family planning program and society still had limited knowledge about MOW; (2) husbands forbade their wives to use MOW; (3) it’s caused cost must be paid. It’s expected to State Ministry for Population/ National Family Planning Coordinating Board in Jember to socialize MOW communicatively and comprehensively, continuously.   Keywords: Husband’s Social support, Metode Operasi Wanita (MOW), Unmet Need

Abstract

Government sets up Alert Village program that has a component of basic health service,community empowerment through development of Community-Sourced Health Efforts. One ofActive Alert Villages in Indonesiat is Kenongo Village, District of Gucialit, Lumajang Regency.Thesuccess of the formation of Alert Village in Kenongo Village. The purpose of research to knowthe form of support from community Leders’ in an emotional manner , the award , instrumental ,in the sustainability and informative of alert village in Kenongo village.This research is adescriptive research with qualitative approach. Determination of informants in this research usedpurposive technique. Data were collected by indepth interview, triangulation, unstructuredobservation and documentation. The provision of social support from community leaders wasdivided into four, emotional support was given by giving attention and motivation to thecommunity members, so that they community were moved to participate in the activities. Theappreciative support by community leaders was given by giving appreciation and attention topeople who participate in activities of Active Alert Village. Other appreciation was given by givingrewards to the community in the form of development assistance of health facilities. The form ofinstrumental support by community leaders by providing aids needed by the community.Informative support given by community leaders by providing information through gatheringvillage officers and cadres..Keywords: Community leaders’ support, alert Village, heatlh promotion

Abstract

Children are always risky exposed to pornography of mass media every day. Children sexualviolence is growing too, especially the number of case of sexual violence always ranks topthan other case of violence in Jember regency. The existence of awareness of reproductionhealth education grants in children early is one way to cope with case of sexual violence.Researcher made pop-up book as an alternative reproduction health education mediadevoted to elementary school students between grade 3-4. This research aimed to find outthe feasibility of the pop-up book media from presenting physical appearance and suitabilityof the material. This research was applied in descriptive method with qualitative approach.Data was collected by in-depth interview, triangulation, and documentations. The resultshowed that overall the colors used were in accordance with the children for colorfull,typography used have qualified legibility and readability, lllustrations used was in accordancewith the explanation was given and so attractive for children, and the layout of were used as awhole had met the principle of unity. While the content of each theme was in compliance withthe children, but there had to be improvement of the writing, the use of words, and thecontent.Keywords: Pop-Up, Reproduction Health, Children

Abstract

Many regions in Indonesia have potency to occur disaster every time including JemberRegency. Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team is one of PMI’s programs asdisaster preparedness effort. The most active of Community-Based DisasterPreparedness Team in Jember Regency is Community-Based Disaster PreparednessTeam of Sumberjambe Subdistrisct. This research is purposed to know the role ofCommunity-Based Disaster Preparedness Team in disaster preparedness inSumberjambe Subdistrisct Jember Regency. This research is descriptive research withqualitative approachment locating in Sumberjambe Subdistrisct Jember Regency. Theinformants of research were determinded by snowball sampling and purposive samplingtechnique. The informants were obtained 6 persons, there were a key informant(coordinator of Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team in Jember Regency), 3main informants (Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team Team ofSumberjambe Subdistrict and Head of Social Prosperousness in SumberjambeSubdistrict), and 2 additional informants (Sumberjambe Subdistrict people). Data weregathered by in-depth interview, triangulation, and documentation. The result of researchshowed that Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team had roles as escort,adviser, instructor, and motivator in disaster preparedness in Sumberjambe Subdistrict.Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team was not only as a communityempowerment, but the advocacy could also be found in their programs/events.Keywords: Role, Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team, Disasterpreparedness
