Abstract

A teacher’s success in teaching can be observed through student learning outcomes. One of supporting factors for successful teaching is the used of learning model. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of Cool-Critical-Creative-Meaningfull (3CM) Learning Model Assisted by Differentiated Learning-Based Learning Modules to improve the academic achievement and the critical thinking skills of students at SMA Negeri 8 Malinau. This study employed a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental research method using a pretest and a posttest designs. The population consisted of 12th - grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Malinau, with 60 students sample divided into 2 classes, experimental class and control class, depended using a non-probability sampling technique. The experimental class is a class that is treated in the form of 3CM learning model assisted by differentiated learning-based learning modules, while the control class received a conventional treatment. Data collection for measuring learning outcomes and critical thinking skills was carried out through validated and reliable tests. Data analysis techniques used a homogeneity test with the F test and a hypothesis test with an Independent Sample T test. The results showed that: 1) the average of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 75,50, higher than the students in the control class, which was 65,50; and 2) the average of critical thinking skills test outcomes in the experimental class was 81,22, higher than that of the control class, which was 61,47. From these results, it was concluded that the 3CM learning model assisted by differentiated learning-based learning modules was effective in improving student’s learning outcomes and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Case method learning training to develop collaboration and critical thinking skills   Abstract: This community service program aims to improve the ability to work together and think critically with class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Kalasan through the Teaching Lecturer Programme. The implementation of this community service was carried out in three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' ability to work together and think critically, as well as increased learning motivation and provided practical experience relevant to real-world situations. The evaluation was conducted by distributing questionnaires to see students' responses. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that students' satisfaction and interest were in the high category, and most students stated that the case method was useful for understanding economic material better. This finding confirms that the case method not only improves the ability to work together and think critically but also fosters interest and a better understanding of the learning material. Future suggestions include exploring variations of the case method for different subjects, conducting longitudinal studies to assess long-term impact, integrating technology, involving more teachers, evaluating other relevant skills, and customizing the method to meet different individual needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of adversity intelligence and self-efficacy on students' economic learning outcomes, as well as to evaluate the role of parental attention as a moderating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative-causal design, involving 145 Grade XI Social Sciences students from three public high schools in Tana Tidung Regency. The research instruments include questionnaires and academic achievement tests, analyzed using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate that adversity intelligence (β = 0.377; p = 0.007) and self-efficacy (β = 0.353; p = 0.001) have a positive and significant effect on academic achievement. Additionally, parental attention was found to significantly moderate the relationship between adversity intelligence (β = 0.24; p = 0.001) and self-efficacy (β = 0.22; p = 0.001) on students' academic achievement. The increase in the coefficient of determination from R² = 0.070 to R² = 0.086 after moderation indicates that parental attention strengthens the relationship between internal psychological factors and academic achievement. These findings emphasize the importance of collaboration between strengthening students' psychological resilience and parental involvement in supporting learning success, especially in areas with limited access to education.
