Abstract

Kucing sebagai hewan peliharaan memiliki variasi pola, kombinasi warna bulu, panjang ekordan panjang rambut. Variasi tersebut merupakan ekspresi dari beberapa gen dan dalam suatupopulasi terdapat keragaman gen tersebut. Oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengidentifikasi keragaman kucing domestik (Felis domesticus) berdasarkan morfogenetik,meliputi pola warna, panjang rambut dan dan panjang ekor yang terdapat pada 11 lokus yaitu lokusw-W, A-a, B-b-b’, C_cb_cs_ca_c,D-d, i-I, L-l, 0-0, s-S, r-T-tb, dan m-M. Nilai frekuensi aIel darisetiap lokus dihitung menggunakan metode squere root dan maximum likelihood Keragaman kucingdi wilayah Tangerang dapat dilihat berdasarkan nilai heterozigositas (h) dan heterozigositas rataan(H). Nilai heterozigositas (h) dari masing-masing lokus diantaranya 49.7 % (Iokus A-a), 48,6. %(Iokus s-S), 49,1 (lokus B-b-b’), 49,1 % (lokus D-d), 59,8 % (lokus Ta-T-tb). Lokus Ta -T-tbmemiliki keragaman alel (h) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan lokus lainnya. Hal ini menunjukkanbahwa kucing yang memiliki alel tersebut tersebar luas sehingga terjadi aliran gen melalui kawinacak. Berdasarkan nilai frekuensi alel, tipe liar memiliki frekuensi alel lebih tinggi dari tipe mutan.Nilai heterozigositas rataan ( H ) di wilayah Tangerang berdasarkan 11 lokus yang diamati sebesar 49.7 % .Kata kunci ; kucing, frekuensi alel, heterozigositas

Abstract

This aim of the research was to study the morphological characteristic and estimating genetic distancebetween local chicken and broiler chicken with discriminant and canonical analysis. This research washeld in Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Bogor Agricultural University, using 25 sentul chickens,  25  kampongchickens, 25 kedu chickens , 25  pelung chickens and 25 broiler chickens. The variable as the length ofshank, beak length, back length, chest depth and chest width were measured in this study. The collecteddata were analyzed by using SAS  and SPSS package program. Kampung chickens were mixed with sentulchickens (17.60 %) and kedu chickens (17,70 %). Kedu, kampong,  and  sentul chickens have a relativelyclose genetic distance   compared the genetic distance to pelung chickens with the kampung, sentul, andkedu chickens. Fenogram tree show that there were three separate groups of chickens at the age of eightweeks i.e. : (1) pelung chickens (2), kedu, kampong, and sentul chickens, (3) broiler chickens.  Fenogram treealso shows two separate groups : (1) pelung chickens (2) kedu, kampong, and Sentul chickens (at the age of28 weeks chicken).  The crossbreed between kedu and sentul chickens, also have a relatively close geneticdistance. The phenotypic size of  chickens giving a strong influence on the distinction variable of chickengroups were body length and chest circumference.

Abstract

Local chicken has an important role as a source of animal protein producing eggs and meat. Local chicken has the advantage of being able to adapt to hot weather and be more resistant to disease. However, there are still weaknesses, namely relatively slow growth and relatively low egg production. Therefore, one way to overcome these weaknesses is by holding selection and crossing. Local chickens used for crossing in this study were sentul, kampung and kedu chicken. In connection with the growth of chickens that are slow and low in productivity of local chickens, it is necessary to examine the factors that influence growth and productivity. The hormones that have an effect on growth are GH (Growth Hormone), so that the characteristics of the gene of growth in local chickens from the cross can be known.The purpose of this study was to detect the characteristics of the Growth Hormone gene in local chickens resulting from Three Breed Crosses . The research material used in this study was forty local chickens produced by cross-sentul, kampung and kedu chicken. To find out GH gene polymorphism is by PCR-RFLP with cutting enzyme EcoRV.The results of the GH gene study in sentul, kampung and keducrossed chickens are polymorphic and are in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium state. Kampung chicken cross population was polymorphic for GH|EcoRV loci and the GG genotype was predominant in this population. G allele frequency in kampung,kedu and sentul chicken cross population is higher than the A allele. The highest genetic diversity was observed at kampung,kedu and sentul chicken cross and the heterozygosity value was lowcategory.

Abstract

Sentul and kampung chicken are known as dual-purpose chicken, and kedu chicken is as laying hens. The crossing of sentul, kampung and kedu chicken produced SKKedu chicken. The crossing is expected to be produced local chickens that have superior meat quality from the combination of the three types of chicken. This study aimed to analyze the physical quality of SKKedu chicken meat. Tests were carried out on the flesh of the chest, upper thighs and lower thighs of 12 SKKedu chickens aged 12 weeks. Analysis of the meat physical characteristics included 4 variables pH value, cooking shrinkage, tenderness, and percentage of water binding power. The pH value of SKKedu meat in the upper thighs and lower thighs were the same (P> 0.05), while the breast meat was significantly different (P <0.05). The tenderness is only done on breast meat and obtained a value of 2.86 ± 0.50 kg cm-2. The different parts of meat did not have a significant effect (P> 0.05) on cooking losses of SKKedu chicken meat. Power binding to water (DMA) of breast and lower thigh meat was different (P <0.05) with the best DMA in the lower thighs. SKKedu chicken meat was still quite tender.

Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of local chicken famincluding merawang chicken and arabic chicken. Merawang chickens have potential as dual-purpose type chickens and laying types for arabic chickens. Crossing the merawang chicken with arabic chicken is expected to be an alternative to increase the productivity of local Indonesian chickens through increasing the genetic material of local chickens and developing local chickens. Appropriate feed supports livestock productivity performance. This study aimed to examine the growth performance of merawangarab chickens with 50% merawang and 50% arabian genetic composition fed mixed feeds with commercial feed compositions for broilers with different rice bran from the 4th week to the 12th week. The number of DOC used as many as 80 tails and not differentiated by sex, 60% of the feed used; 80%: 100% commercial broiler feed for starter phase mixed with 40% rice bran; 20%; 0%. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with a hatching period as a group. The variables measured were feed consumption, body weight, feed conversion, and mortality. Feed and drinking water are provided ad libitum. The results showed that the performance of merawangarab chickens with different compositions of commercial feed and rice bran was the same (P>0.05) for all growth variables. The average body weight at 12 weeks of age was 1064.6-1167.8 g. In conclusion, the growth of merawangarab chicken by replacing commercial feed up to 40% with rice bran is still good.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) menjadi salah satu penyebab kematian di dunia. Diabetes ditandai dengan tingginya kadar glukosa dalam darah, penyakit ini merupakan gangguan metabolik menahun akibat pankreas tidak memproduksi insulin yang cukup atau tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang diproduksi secara efektif. Pankreas penderita DM tipe 2 belum rusak namun banyaknya penderita DM tipe 2 mengalami defisiensi insulin yang seharusnya tidak terjadi serta mengalami obesitas. Obesitas menjadi menyebabkan pankreatitis dan mempengaruhi insulin, pemeriksaan amilase pankreas yang bertujuan untuk mendiagnosa pankreatitis harus  dilakukan atau tepat dilakukan pada penderita DM tipe 2 yang mengalami defisiensi insulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat adanya hubungan antara Insulin, Amilase Pankreas, Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dengan Glukosa Darah pada penderita DM Tipe 2. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian cross sectional dengan pengambilan data sekunder sebanyak 213 pasien dengan riwayat DM Tipe 2. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS 22.0 metode uji r dan uji regresi linear ganda. Hasil uji statistik yang diperoleh menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Glukosa Darah Puasa dengan Amilase Pankreas (P0,05),  terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Glukosa Darah Puasa dengan Kadar Insulin dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Glukosa Darah Puasa dengan Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) (P0.05) pada penderita DM. Kata kunci         : Amilase, Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2, Glukosa Darah, IMT, Insulin
