Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the module that are considered from material and media aspects and to know students' responses at the product trial stage. This research was Research and Development (R&D). To find out the quality of the module, that was looked from the validity, we used expert judgment from three Mathematics Education lecturers. Meanwhile, to find out the students' responses, we conducted a trial on 32 students of Class VII F, SMP Regina Pacis Surakarta. The results of this study are the quality of the mathematical module that has been designed in terms of material the results are very good with an average of 3.29 and need to add exercises to accommodate the questions of cognitive demands analyzing or creating. The quality of the mathematics module in terms of media is very good with an average of 3.33 and it is necessary to add exercises about HOTS. Students respond very well to the mathematics module that is designed with an average of 3.39 and accept this module to help students learn independently outside the learning process in class

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe the views of mathematics teachers in Indonesia on the distance learning barriers during the early Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, this paper investigates the barriers that teachers view as significant in distance learning and efforts taken to overcome the barriers during the early Covid-19 pandemic. This study employed a descriptive research design involving 415 mathematics teachers by snowball sampling to fill out an online questionnaire. This study shows that barriers related to pedagogical dimensions were perceived as significant in distance learning during the early Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, this study reveals that most of the teachers did some efforts that can be done by the teachers themselves to overcome the barriers. Based on the findings, we argue that it is important to support teachers’ pedagogical competencies to conduct distance learning in order to face this current pandemic or any future crises that may potentially disrupt face-to-face learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas fundamental matematis menurut Bishop pada Tari Srimpi Pandhèlori. Ada enam jenis aktivitas fundamental matematis menurut Bishop yaitu counting, locating, measuring, designing, playing, dan explaining. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah pelatih tari Srimpi di Yayasan Siswa Among Beksa, Yogyakarta. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah aktivitas fundamental matematis pada tari Srimpi Pandhèlori. Peneliti membuat instrumen wawancara dan observasi, serta mengumpulkan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh data. Aspek yang diamati adalah gerakan, pola lantai, pakaian, dan aksesoris. Hasil  dari penelitian ini yaitu 1) Ada aktivitas counting meliputi kegiatan mencacah, kuantifikasi, diagram panah, operasi bilangan, dan pola bilangan; 2) ada aktivitas locating meliputi ketentuan arah, tempat kedudukan, dan posisi berdasarkan jarak; 3) ada aktivitas measuring meliputi ukuran sudut, ukuran jarak, dan satuan; 4) ada aktivitas designing meliputi bentuk sudut, bangun datar, bentuk garis, kesejajaran dan garis berpotongan, kekongruenan dan kesebangunan, dan transformasi geomteri; 5) ada aktivitas playing meliputi aturan-aturan dan strategi; 6) ada aktivitas explaining meliputi perkembangan dan filosofi tari Srimpi Pandhèlori.

Abstract

Peneliti mendapati sebuah masalah matematika pada peserta didik dalam pemahaman konsep di materi program linier. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mencari solusi agar pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi program linier dapat teratasi. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menawarkan solusi berupa media pembelajaran materi program linear berbasis aplikasi Desmos. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengikuti metode ADDIE: Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi. Sementara itu dalam pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan wawancara tidak terstruktur kepada beberapa siswa dan guru kelas XI SMA. Hasil validasi terhadap produk dilakukan oleh beberapa para ahli, dihasilkan dengan ahli yang pertama yaitu ahli materi menilai 75 persen dengan hasil produk dikategorikan valid serta pada ahli media menilai juga 71 persen produk yang dikembangkan memiliki kategori valid. Selain itu, menurut penilaian siswa yang telah menggunakan produk mengungkapkan bahwa produk yang dihasilkan sebesar 83 persen dikatakan praktis.

Abstract

This research notes that there is still a lack of focus on implementing digital-based learning media to helo students in understanding of the concept of Linear Equations with One Variable and in finding the solution in one of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) State Middle Schools. Virtual balance models can be used to help students learn the concept of linear equations. Therefore, this study aims to develop digital-based learning media, considering the quality criteria of being valid, practical, and effective. The research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects are six seventh-grade students from one of the State Junior High Schools in East Nusa Tenggara with high, moderate, and low cognitive abilities. Data on the quality of learning media are obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and learning outcome tests. The learning media is categorized as highly valid with a percentage of 88% and highly practical with a percentage of 94%. Additionally, the learning media is deemed effective, with over 80% of the research subjects scoring above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). Digital-based learning media utilizing the balance model feature in Mathigon with the help of Google Sites, was developed to facilitate students' understanding of concepts at one of the State Middle Schools in NTT. The problems presented in the media carry the culture that exists in the NTT region. Thus, students can easily imagine these problems because they are close to their lives. Both teachers and students feel assisted by the developed learning media. Using this media, teachers enable to monitor the students' progress and students also can participate actively during this learning. Penelitian ini mencatat bahwa masih kurangnya fokus pada implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis digital untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep Persamaan Linear Satu Variabel (PLSV) dan penyelesaiannya di salah satu SMP Negeri Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT).  Model keseimbangan virtual dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membantu siswa dalam mempelajari konsep persamaan linear.  Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis digital pada materi persamaan linear satu variabel dengan memperhatkan kualitas yaitu valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek penelitian adalah enam peserta didik kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri Nusa Tenggara Timur dengan kemampuan kognitif tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Data kualitas media pembelajaran diperoleh dari kuesioner, wawancara dan tes hasil belajar. Media pembelajaran dikategorikan sangat valid dengan persentase 88% dan sangat praktis dengan persentase 94%. Serta media pembelajaran juga dikatakan efektif, lebih dari 80% subjek penelitian mendapatkan nilai diatas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Media pembelajaran berbasis digital dengan memanfaatkan fitur model keseimbangan pada Mathigon berbantu Google Sites, dikembangkan untuk memfasilitasi pemahaman konsep siswa di salah satu SMP Negeri di NTT. Permasalahan yang disajikan dalam media tersebut, mengusung budaya yang ada pada daerah NTT. Sehingga siswa dapat dengan mudah membayangkan permasalahan tersebut karena dekat dengan kehidupan mereka. Guru dan peserta didik merasa terbantu dengan media pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan. Guru dapat memonitoring perkembangan siswa dan siswa melalui media ini dapat terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika perlu dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan pendekatan dari hal yang sering atau pernah dilakukan oleh siswa itu sendiri untuk membuat pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan dan mudah dimengerti. Salah satu kegiatan yang erat kaitannya dengan berbagai permainan adalah hompimpa. Hompimpa biasa dilakukan sebelum memulai permainan dengan tiga atau lebih pemain untuk mengundi pemain yang kalah. Hompimpa sebagai sistem pengundian dalam permainan menunjukkan bahwa permainan ini dapat dikaitkan dengan materi peluang. Proses belajar siswa untuk sampai pada pemahaman yang bermakna sangat erat keterkaitannya dengan dugaan dari alur pembelajaran yang dibuat oleh guru. Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) adalah alur belajar yang dibuat oleh guru berdasarkan hipotesis akan kemungkinan-kemungkinan yang dapat terjadi selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Pengenalan akan budaya dilakukan untuk mengajarkan siswa terhadap pemahaman akan nilai-nilai luhur budaya yang diharapkan juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap pendidikan karakter siswa. Artikel ini menyajikan hypothetical learning trajectory pada materi peluang teoritis dan peluang empiris dengan hompimpa alaium gambreng.
